Not real enjoyable

I haven't had any problems with the work performed twice on my van nor the cost. However, they are not amenable to clients who wish to wait for their vehicles and not leave them there. Considering the lousy taxi service in this area, going home is not always an option. The waiting room is not air-conditioned; it just has a floor fan. The TV has very poor reception. There are no vending machines. The worst thing is that there is only one comfortable chair; all the others are extremely bad plastic that gives me a backache. And the restroom is halfway down into the mechanic work area so that is a pretty unsafe maneuver for some of us. I don't believe I will be returning there again even tho my dealer is far away.

$1000 for a radiator smh

I drove into the shop on july 18 th. My car was smoking and coolant was leaking.I paid the inital charge of 50 dollars for the inspection just for them to tell me what I already told them which was my radiator had a leak. The guy then tells me its a thousand dollars to fix my car. I basically laughed in his face. I called my regular mechanic and they told me to remove my thermostat and, it will get me to them to fix my problem. I spend 250 for my Toyota Camry not 1000 these people are scammers and horrible attitude as well from the front office people never again will I go there and you shouldn't either

Missed a very easy problem to fix

BEWARE: I bought my car there because the idle was dropping when stopped and the car has bad hesitation. The tech looked at my car and test drove it, he put it on the machine to read the codes. And supposedly he visually inspected it he told me he couldn't find anything wrong and the test drive was fine. I paid them $50.00 and took the car I didn't get 3 blocks away and the car was doing the same thing. I turned around and went back and the tech told he doesn't know what's wrong he said he would clean the throttle body and clean the fuel ejectors for $169.00 I asked will that fix the problem and he told me I don't know. So I didn't do it, I took the car home and went on the Mazda forums. The very first thing it said to check was the rubber intake hose from the air box to the throttle body. I went out and looked at the car and mine had 2 big rips in the hose. I taped up the hose and the car is running fine now, so I ordered a new hose. I called them up to let them know this and tell them I will a little upset about this as I trusted them to find the problem. I was basically told that they didn't care and would not do anything for me. So I would beware of this shop they will rip you off.

Zembowers is crazy for money

My battery light came on in New Port Richie and I drove my car directly back to Altamonte Springs(3hrs) where I took it to Zembowers after I had the battery tested, so I already knew it needed an alternator. I told the guy he could do the $50 inspection on it. He called the next day to tell me that I had a severe leak in my "cracked" radiator, coolant spilling out. Funny it didn't overheat on the way over and when I had tires put on 3 days earlier nobody noticed anything leaking. Plus leaks usually drip down and leave puddles/spots underneath which I had none of. Anyway, he went on to tell me I also had 2 oil leaks, one at the head gasket, which I had just replaced 3mo. prior and another at the distributor cap which was leaking onto my ignition wires causing electricity to "ark" in the car. I stopped and told him he had replaced the radiator 3yrs prior and he had to call me back.(Was overcharged then too $700 for the radiator but it was my daughters car then and I was out of state) Upon calling back he said I was right but it didn't matter it had a crack in it. He also mentioned that there was no sticker indicating when the timing belt had been changed and I had to inform him that again his shop had already taken care of that on a prior date so if there was no sticker it was b/c you guys didn't put it on. The tech also noted that I should replace all my brand new belts on the car b/c they were "noisy". Finally I asked how much for the alternator which I had already looked up online while awaiting his return call, he wanted $450 dollars and I declined. While waiting for someone to pick me up to retrieve my car he called back and the price went down to $350. Needless to say I picked up my car and paid another reputable company $150 for the alternator. I got his 2 page inspection list that he had read from, he only wanted 1600 for the new radiator, 235 for those new belts and when you added up the rest of all the stuff they wanted to do to my 96 Geo it was about $3500 total. I also would like to add that unfortunately he has taken my daughter to the cleaners on a couple of occasions as she did not consult with me before taking her car there, only afterwards. Supposedly they put a new rack&pinion system in her car that probably had about 40k mi on it when taken in. I am convinced all they did was fix a power steering leak. All in all, years prior when I actually had the water pump and timing belt done there it was a good shop. However since one of the brothers that ran the place is no longer there it has become nothing but a bunch of high dollar things that are wrong with your car. I should have known better after the first radiator experience...It is just unfortunate that these places don't realize that honesty and reasonable rates in the car repair business will create more business simply by word of mouth....I am glad I am only out $50 and they will never see these two cars again. As a woman my intelligence was insulted and he was arrogant about doing it.

Zembowers will steal your money

Hello all, please do not take your car to zembowers in Altamonte Springs. I took my car over there a couple of weeks ago and after three days of paying $500 to get my car fixed the same problem happened again. When I took my car back to Zembowers, they charged me another $20 and they stated that the problem had nothing to do with they had fixed. Well, three days after paying $500 +$20 the same problem happened again and there I took the car for the third time, for my surprise at this time they came up with something else and said that I would have to pay $145 to get my car fixed. Folks these people are not honest and please do not waste your money like it happened to me. These people do not car for their clients and even though the state that they are ASE certified, I don't think they are because until this day they were not able to find the problem with my car or maybe they were trying to take money from my pocket.

Zembowers are crooks

My car was towed to Zembowers who told me I had a blown head gasket, among other things. They said I would most likely need a new engine. My car is a 2008. I called my dealership...they said this didnt sound right at all and they had never seen a blown head gasket in this type of car at this age. Zembowers was telling me this was all going to cost at least 5 grand and most likely 8 grand! I had my car towed to the dealership....nothing wrong except the water pump had gone. These people are DIRTY!!!

Expensive Lesson Learned!! Thanks Zembowers Auto Repair in Altamonte Springs, FL

I need to warn you all of Zembowers repair! I had 2 vehicles serviced there. I had an okay experience with the American car. A little expensive but I was just glad to have it fixed! My second vehicle is a foreign car and it came out worse then it went in! The problems started on my way home from the repair shop! I took it in for a second time & the car started falling apart....new oil leaks, chipped paint etc. They offered to look at it again but I know better then to send the plate back to the chef twice! I have been majorly screwed over! After all of the repairs were done I looked up the average costs of repair online and found that a new radiator w/ labor was just under $400 on average, I was billed over $600 so I was extremely overcharged in my opinion! After $2400 spent I now do not have a vehicle I can use. I will never do business with them again!

The review of Zembowers warning people away is correct. I took my car in for a tire rotation and balancing because they mailed out discount coupons.

They told me that my rear main seal was leaking. (The rear main seal is to keep oil from leaking out of the crankcase. In order to replace this seal, they would have drained the oil.) I agreed to have it replaced. 5 miles from the shop, my Check Engine light came on.

When I got home I checked the oil. It was BLACK! Instead of putting new oil in, they put in USED oil! I change my own oil and much more often than is recommended.

Usually the oil is so clean that it would not be visible on the dipstick unless it was turned to the light.

It will cost me another $100 worth of oil and filters (not to mention my time) to clean the sludge out of my engine. Because they overcharge to begin with, the only reason that they would do this is to keep me coming in for more repairs.

I can assure that when going to Zembowers you will get nothing but the best! I've been going for over 10 years and reading the review above shocked me.

The staff is friendly, and they actually fix my cars. You can't blame a mechanic for finding problems that were already there!

They never over charge and are friendly people. I definitely recommend!
