Resolved: Cancellation of my Yours Magazine

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. Had to telephone them and they then set up a new direct debit and today everything went through and was paid.

The old direct debit was no good anyway as it had a different email address so that had to be deleted. It did, however, involve me having to 'phone my bank which can be a pain at times.

I will have to wait and see if they take my payment within the next 3 weeksI will not know until then.

Original review Dec 25, 2023
My Membership No : 800********
Received a letter dated 1st December 2023 stating my subscription was due for renewal in January 2024. Within letter prices:- 1 Year £44.99 - 6 Monthly £22.50 - Quarterly £11.25 - Monthly £3.75.

There was nothing else about my subscription (been a member since 2017 and before that used to read my mother's copy who lived at the same address).
I replied I would pay 6 monthly. I got a reply to say that if I stayed at a yearly rate it would be £30 odd pounds. I was not aware or told about this in the letter.
I replied immediately to say I would stay as I was with a yearly subscription. I have had two emails since saying my membership has been cancelled.

If you speak to anyone they are not English nor in this country.
I don't want my membership cancelled just back with me paying £30 odd pounds a year, but the renewal team don't seem to understand when you send an email or telephone.
Reinstate my old price which you should have mentioned in the letter of the 1st December 2023 as I have been a member for a long time. Also, get some staff in the UK to answer questions and reply to those of us who live in the UK.

Pros:
  • Varied articles with 2 magazines a month
Cons:
  • Subscription renewal team

Preferred solution: An apology, as well as my price reduction.

User's recommendation: At the moment try not to have anything to do with the Subscriptions Department

Mistakes on page 12 of Yours magazine issue 420

The article about Judi Denchs new film had a number of mistakes namely

The heading Dame Judi Dench says her upcoming FIML Hallelujah instead of

film Allelujah and it referred to Jennier Saunders instead of Jennifer Saunders.

I have noticed recently a number of incorrect spellings and information.

I know spell check is used but does anyone proof read articles nowadays or am I just being old fashioned! I love the Yours magazine and look forward to each issue and it would be great if some human checks were made before they are dispatched.

Regards

Jean Douglass
