Shoddy work actually doing damage to our kitchen broken window damaged wallpaper by incompetent installers

Don't think this is over yet Mr. Curry. Not by a long shot my friends. We may have received a new breath of air and honesty so just wanted to let you know we're not done yet.

User's recommendation: Don't ever "0" not 1 star would be more like it.

Your Remodeling Guys - Review in Home Construction and Repair category from Mount Joy, Pennsylvania

I just had an in home visit from "Your Remodeling Guys" that went downhill as soon as the salesman found out my wife was busy with work and would not be able to sit in on a 2 hour sales presentation - for a simple shower/tub replacement... He immediately went to high pressure sales tactics and even put his manager on the phone for me to talk to - to try to pressure me into having the wife sit in on the sales pitch. As soon as he found out she would not be available, he left - no information, no brochures, not even a business card. I would not do business with this company if they were the last remodeling company around. Put them in the same category as high pressure car salesmen.

our experience was much, much worse. you didn't get snared into an extremely overpriced product w/ lousy results! i'm glad for everyone of us that their are folks who got away from this horrible company.

False ad for promos-didnt deliver

Went to home show, was given flyer stating gift card offer for free in-home estimate and promos of % off for limited time. Had in-home estimate, but they did Not deliver on gift card Or giving % off for certain amount of time or any info. on financing. Was disappointed. This company is "Your Remodeling Guys" I told the scheduler that we were just beginning our search for pricing and may not be able to commit to a project yet--he said no problem. But as soon as the in-home estimate guy did not get a firm commitment from us on a date of construction, he abruptly left! How disappointing! Unprofessional.

I found out the hard way. mark curry is the president; ryan boggs is the vice-president.

both have poor attitudes to customer complaints. in fact, I recall curry say,

"well, we wasted enough time here" as he left the residence. I was surprised that I he would even express a comment like that.

my assessment of Your Remodeling Guys' other staff:

the home show folks were alright;

the sleazy salesman that came to the house & commented on a non-existent mold issue was pushy;

the installer had a prima donna attitude (he & his assistant scratched my linoleum when they were removing my old shower & scratched another room's floor during the install); the scheduler kept calling even though I told him that I would be away for a month (I had to delete similar messages from my answering machine); the office girl coordinator had a bad, belligerent attitude when I blasted the company for damage to my property from the prima donna installer & his lazy assistant (her tune softened when she realized some of the issues herself through their shop manager); cleanup crew from licensed plumber/electrician (hired from YRG) did a fantastic job cleaning up prima donna's mess & fixing an electrical box that was left hanging out of the wall; and installer (after disgusting treatment from prima donna guy) was next to useless (he couldn't figure out how to snake a drain nor install a light/fan/heater unit w/o putting it in cockeyed)! after nearly a year without a shower in that bathroom, I went to use it.

the drain clogged; I tried many attempts to call YRG but the office girl coordinator wouldn't take my calls. I finally got ahold of mark curry; he insisted that it was my septic tank that was the issue (no, no, no; my toilet worked & the septic tank is cleaned every 2 years because of my township ordinance; it was just cleaned before the install). ryan boggs also blamed the slow, slow drain on the tank. my daughter posted a poor review on facebook; mark curry (or his staff) saw it & threatened me that he & a licensed plumber would NOT be coming to my residence if I didn't remove the post.

he did not come out. I hired a plumber who snaked the drain...through the sink (because the shower had a trap; odd, so how did YRG installer snake the shower if he couldn't, which I didn't see him do?). after the drain to the shower was opened I had someone check the septic tank out that day. that person found several pieces of Handi Wipes on the far side of the outlet drain from the house.

perhaps the prima donna installer forgot to take the wipes out of the drain (to prevent debris from the removal & install shavings) before he finished the poorly executed project! the shower works now (8 months later partially because of timing since I was away on several trips, etc.), though the shower base pan creaks when I walk on the one side of it; the caulk job was lousy; the new shallow electrical box sticks out a bit; the ceiling will have to be painted where the last installer put in the light/fan/heater unit. I recommend any person who reads this post about my complaints takes notes. I was 79 when I was duped into this $11,000.00 project.

It was nothing but a nightmare: pushy salesman; prima donna installer who wanted YRG final payment upfront after damaging my property; both a V.P.

& President that didn't heed my complaints or concerns; non-existent licensed professionals; staff that didn't return calls because they didn't want to hear my complaints; threats by mark curry for not removing negative posts. for this to happen to me, I could happen to you!
