Resolved: Never ordered any product but I was charged

Updated by user Feb 07, 2018

I got a full refund of my money.

Original review Jan 25, 2018
I went overseas for a long stay and just came back to found out that my debit card was charged twice more than $400 by Younique for products I never ordered. This is the phone number, the address and the name of the person associated with it : Andrea Jewett, Owner of (844) 821-****; 4425 N Thanksgiving Way Lehi, UT 84043 I don't use makeup at all.

I want my money back. I am going to sue them if I don't get my money back. They can't be scamming people like that in these difficult times. Taking so much money from striving Americans is wrong.

Any body with the same issue, contact me to file a lawsuit against their business practice. Marie

This is correct. My account was hit as well 2 days ago.

Never heard of the company and never ordered any cosmetics whatsoever. Sounds like they need to be investigated by the FBI.

This company is a TOTAL SCAM!! Do not order anything !

I was color matched by sending a photo that was taken outside, ordered the color that was recommended . I guess I look orange because that is what the concealer in Taffata is !!

Looks terrible ! The makeup is low quality at a very high price . They basically have NO refund policy unless u want to jump thru hoops and I have sent 2 emails without any response ! Now I’m stuck with almost $200 worth of crap I can’t use !!

Just go to Ulta because this product is a HUGE disappointment !!

Let me know if you know any orange people ... I have free makeup for them !

My lipstain lasted through lunch. As they have so many lip products, are you sure it was the lipstain? Not saying it's not, as different products work differently for people..but I want to make sure we are talking about the same product..I've never heard of any lipstain (regardless of brand) wipe off that easily.

Waiting over a month for a refund

At the end of March 2018, I returned their product. I never opened box. Refused it, marked it return to sender. I am still waiting for my refund. Customer Service does reply to my emails, apologizing for the delay, but still no refund. Who else can I contact?

Lip gloss smells like play dough

I spent $30 on lip gloss and was excited to try it and happy to support a friend. When it arrived, I opened it and it smelled like play dough. I looked for an expiration date thinking that it must be an expired product, but could not find one. I tried it on and can’t get past the smell. I am not able to use it now and I’m super disappointed. I spend $25 on high-end lip stick and spent more on this cheap product that is way overpriced.

Dreadful Agent

Helen Cooper Castlebar Co Mayo! !7th January 17, 2018.

I am writing to you to complain about a Younique agent inWestport, Co Mayo, named Nicola Green. She has two facebook pages… Nicola Green and Nicola Green Beauty Queen. Her real name is Nicola O Connell. I suggest you visit her Facebook page that she uses to promote Younique Make Up, and view her Live Chat and Motivation Video on January 5th, and all her other posts.

My 15 year old daughter was encouraged to buy your products by her school friends, and asked me to look into it with her. I was horrified when I listened to Nicola on her Facebook page and so was my daughter. Her use of bad language is disgraceful, calling people who don’t like the product “C**ts”, She explains how she would love to punch her children when they are bold, She suggests that people should go out and get a good ride when they don’t agree with her point of view. She tells of her times she was in trouble with the police and talks about the things she did breaking the law!

I have called the parents of all my daughters friends to alert them of this abusive and vile person, and they said they will never let their children use Younique products! I am writing to the school to alert them of Nicola Green, as she is not a person who should be influencing any teenagers or adults! She is a very poor representative of your company, and will lose you a lot of customers in the future. I will be telling everyone that I possibly can to avoid Younique products….

God knows how many vulnerable and influential Girls have seen Nicola Greens page! Yours Sincerely Helen Cooper.

Being a Younique Presenter is not worth it...

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I used to be a Younique presenter, and when I started I was so excited. The company definitely has great incentives and benefits, BUT...

It is extremely hard to get past that. When I started, I reached yellow status in less than two weeks (thanks to my Mom and family for buying the products that I was selling). However, after exhausting all my potential buyers (aka family and friends), it was extremely hard to sell to anyone else. The elite up-line are so catty and unhelpful.

They claim to be helping by having weekly talks, etc. but honestly... It's just empty words said differently every time. They tell you you can do it, that you have to put yourself out there, etc.

etc. but they never tell you how to market your products when meeting new people. They just tell you you can do it, and to believe in yourself. Additionally, I found it hard to sell the products because they were super over priced despite being low quality.

They claimed that the liquid foundation didn't need a powder to set it because it dries as a powder, but many of my customers still found themselves setting the foundation with powder. The mascara was said to be the holy grail of all their products, but I always had customer complaints about the fall-out that they would experience when using the mascara. The products are low-quality products sold at a high-quality price. My $10 foundation from Loreal has better coverage and sets a lot better than Younique's $39 foundation.

This isn't to say that none of Younique's products are good... Their skincare products are pretty good, but again... Overpriced for the amount that you get.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend becoming a Younique presenter nor buying from them. You can get better products at cheaper prices from credible businesses.

Interesting is all I can say... Younique products in all fields....

The company is selling charity not the products.

For the cost of good quality makeup well I must say not of quilty.

Addiction pallets $53.00 7 colours only. Tried it. Store brand shadows that does the same for $25 colours

Choices on platte and same coverage 26 shades.

Mascara ouch for $30.

OMG my store band for $10.00 gave me the same look as the $30.00 Foundation for $30.00 took 15 min to dry it was cakey, heavy, oily after 2 hours. $12.00 store brand held for the full day.. Views of all their products fell in the cost of high end makeup. Hard hitting presure on buying you'll love it...NO .

ASKING QUESTION THE RUN AROUND your not doing it correctly, your not waiting, did you do this and that.. Return on products hold your breath, no money refunds, company will send the same bad batch, refunds, the presenters pay out of their pockets.. PRESNTERS PAY BACK FOR BAD PRODUCTS. LIP GLOSS AND STAINS $30.00, store brands for $12.00 holds, outlast, and wears 100% Lipsticks $30.00 store brands $12.00 outlast, holds and no wearing off 20 mins later.

In short over priced high end makeup not worth spending double. Nothing about Younique makeup is worth the money nothing. Presenters starting out to sell for a cause cost money, money and pressure to sell drug store products at double the cost and for the name of Younique. Max high end drug store brands that does the same as Younique $15.00 mascara, $15.00 foundation.

Check your drug stores for all Younique sells. Check your drug store don't go to high end companies for makeup, tools, all for makeup that's over priced and paying for the name of the company it's not worth going broke.... All makeup is the same, all makeup works the same, all makeup will have issues when you apply, or wear. One key note you can take your products back to were you buy with out the bs...

Money refunded, your not given something new. In short 6 items from Younique cost $180.00 shadow, lipstick, foundation, blush, mascara, concealer. Second order for a complete set of brushes only $290 Can a presenter trying to make money from home selling.... Not unless people have deep pockets to support a cause.

The cost of the makeup, heads shake twice... For give me.. Makeup 1-5 products, given a ONE FOR ALL.

I know I've tried selling, and the cost for me started off with the kitnappers kit for $119.00 12 items, and buying another $1.500 to sell. I'll take my chances.

First of all our makeup is amazing. Maybe you need to learn how to use it.

Mineral makeup is different that chemical store brands. Our kit is $99 in which you get amazing makeup and skincare. If you spent $1500 to buy makeup and didn't take advantage of the programs in place to earn free makeup. I've barely spent anything and I have a room full.

If you don't understand or couldn't sell that's on you...

not Younique! You have to keep marketing not depend on family and friends to keep your business running.

If it’s so complex and special that a person would need to learn how to use it, why do you market it to non professional folks? Surely your target market would be make up artists if the average person ‘can’t apply it properly’, no?

Oh wait, make up artists wouldn’t touch it, so you sell it to anyone you can, then if they don’t like it, you tell them that their lack of skill in applying your products is the problem, nothing to do with the quality at all, it’s the customers fault that they didn’t like it. Seriously, ‘you didn’t use it properly’ is the worst cop out ever, and extremely unprofessional, rude and condescending. If a product that expensive is so difficult to use, somebody is to blame, and it’s not the customer who bought it thinking expensive=quality. For 39 bucks, it should apply like a dream, blend very well, be easy to use and be effective for most people.

It doesn’t sound like that is the case here at all. Plenty of established brands are cruelty free, many vegan, plenty are cheaper, and they all do better, so why waste your money on hyped up trash?

Estée Lauder p4ices for cover girl quality is a joke. Defending it is even worse, talk about company kool aid lol.

Failure to respond to inquiry regarding defective product.

I placed a large order for Younique products. One of the products I ordered was a lip pencil. The lip pencil is defective in that it will not advance. I first contacted the "demonstrator" who told me to contact Customer Care. I waited on hold on 2 separate occasions for over 1 hour and my call was never answered. I sent 2 emails and finally received a response to 1 of my messages where the writer apologized that she was unable to replace the defective product until I send a picture of the bar code and of the product. I sent the requested photos and have not heard back from them. I am far beyond a pissed consumer. I will not go away.

Yeah. The pencil doesn’t twist. You need to sharpen it.

Guest

You need to sharpen it. Not twist it. It doesn't work that way.

Guest

I have noticed they are very unresponsive by phone, chat and email. I get the feeling they wan their customers to give up on their complaint.

After more effort than I care to go into, I contacted my credit card company to request a full refund.

The color I thought I was ordering was poorly misrepresented on-line. Also while I like Matt finishes, their lip splash was incredibly drying.

Not a good product! horrible sales reps!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The products just aren't good quality. I've tried several including the primer, liquid foundation and mascara. The mascara burns clumps and looks horrible, the foundation is not full coverage and it's oily the primer is crap-even elfs primer is better at the price of $6. Not to mention the reps begging for you to buy from them or "watch me or join me" or "why go to ulta or sephora and support big business when you can help me stay at home with my kids." People at ulta or sephora are making money to support their families too...how are they less important? I'll stick to the products like urban decay or Mac that actually do what they claim to do. There mudt be some robot training because ecery rep says the same thing.

Younique - Not as expected..
Updated by user Apr 12, 2016

My main complaint it quality vs. price.

Original review Apr 11, 2016
I do not sell for this company but after seeing the explosive YouTube videos of the Mineral Liquid Foundation that even covered sharpie drawn on faces, I just HAD to try it. Of course it was out of stock for months and now that it's back you can only order the lightest shades when you buy the whole "combo kit" which was $260 I believe.

After basically taking out a second mortgage on my house (not really but I mean that is EXPENSIVE) I bought the kit and counted the days until I received the amazing magical foundation that everyone was raving about. Welp... I got it, and tried it, and I cannot believe I got sucked into the scam. It worked about as well as any drug store brand but they are defiantly not charging drug store prices.

So disappointing. I've heard since coming back from being out of stock for so long that they might of changes the formula?? Just a rumor I heard but I don't know how the videos could of faked what they were showing so I believe it.

In the kit I also received a lip stick (which was mediocre), lip gloss (again mediocre), eyebrow pencil (again mediocre), eye shadow palate (dense and pigmented I'm actually half impressed), concealer (which were called different shades than the foundation so it was a little difficult to properly color match the two but it works pretty well), fiber lash mascara (works BUT the fibers are large and "webby" so it looked kind of weird but I still need to perfect my technique so we'll see), and I bought the puff brush separate because in all the videos they claimed only THAT brush would make the foundation as flawless as it could be but it left MANY bristles on my face. All in all the products I would say are about as much quality as drug store products and I defiantly had my hopes up WAY too high.

Yeah I thought early on during the hype and then I tried it one more time just recently. I have never been so disappointed in a product, & pretty sure I’ve been allergic to one prior, lol.

. I used to sell Mary Kay so I get it If you have to lie to make a sale, you aren’t a good sales person, you’re just a liar and a con artist. That video that went around, I don’t know what they did or how, but I know that even buying into the idea that I needed all these other products for it to do what it was supposed to do to begin with, I can’t even get it to cover up a freckle much less eyeliner on my face really?? It literally has to be fake.

Or maybe they’re all on her is so cheap that it really is that easy to cover. I don’t know.

All I know is, the stuff is like a bottle of oil. It’s smears on my face and there is no applicator that is going to make a turd not be a turd.

Thera Jwh

please remember ladies any company that uses independent representatives are people who are not educated just because the buy the kit. Some of us are actually cosmetologist or dermatologist etc.

Honest people in sales do not lie to you because when you use it.. It will be you either Love it , hate it or its just okay.. But a real honest sales person will try to meet what you're looking for. If the product I'm selling doesn't meet what you expected or doesn't fit for you.

i definitely would tell you dont waste your money if you dont love the product because its just gonna get thrown in the basket of " well that didn't work for me" and most companies do have a money back guarantee.

Be picky about your representative, you don't have to use the one that introduced you to it.. God bless and good luck

As a dermatologist, their products are dangerous and use chemicals that should really be better researched before applying them to your skin.

I don't know who told you that you had a buy a collection in order to get your foundation but no offense you were completely misled and taken advantage of. Just let me tell you that.

Never at any time have you ever had to buy a collection in order to receive a foundation. They have always been sold separately. I would definitely have contacted the company. I am so sorry somebody lied to you.

No, the formula was never changed it takes 6 months to make one bottle of the foundation because of the minerals that are in it and the lack of chemicals that are in it because we are European Union compliant.

Again I am so sorry that somebody took advantage of your good nature. Please take care

Thats absolute bull. The #1 ingredient in Youniques liquid touch foundation is DIMETHICONE closely followed by talc and perfume.

They throw a sprinkling of minerals (literally) so they can advertise "naturally based" . The Younique conealers #1 ingredient is PETROLEUM JELLY.

Younique also advertises as cruelty free yet can provide no cert backing their claim. Their "foundation/charity" for abused women (the Younique Foundation) does not meet the standards of the BBB nor the National Charity Reports.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1315954

And their presenters are really good at spreading lies and back stabbing one another. Such as this one, dissing the first presenter for lying about colors only being available in a kit and then turning right around and lying about the ingredients.

Younique class action suit for 3D Fiberlash mascara

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Hello everyone, Younique is NOT naturally based, and probably still all made in China. They are lying to everyone just to make their millions.

They're laughing all the way to the bank. Last time I bought and used the kit, I broke out and my eyes were so bad I had to go see an Ophthalmologist. After the fibers were researched, they have discovered that they are NOT made of "green tea fibers" as they have described, but made of Nylong which do NOT belong near your eye, nor IN your eyes. WERE YOU A BUYER OF THIS PRODUCT ADVERTISED THROUGH A MULTILEVEL SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN?

YOU ARE DEVOTED TO ALL THINGS GOOD IN LIFE --- YOU WERE TRYING TO MAKE A CHOICE FOR NATURAL GREEN TEA FIBERS.

WHAT YOU MAY HAVE GOTTEN WAS GROUND-UP NYLON INSTEAD. http://www.mypirl.com/todays-lawsuits-blog/2017/12/20/younique-moonstruck-3d-fiber-lashes-false-advertising

in the mascara class action against Younique (Megan Schmitt, et al. v.

Younique, LLC, et al., 8:17-cv-01397), the Judge has grated the Plaintiffs class certification in California, Florida and Ohio. apparently, Younique sold over 790,000 units of the nylon / synthetic mascara - which they marketed as being "all natural" and containing "100% Natural Green Tea Fibers." Younique sold the Moonstruck 3D Fiber Lash mascara for $29 per unit.

This equates to over $23M in gross revenue in these 3 states alone. the case is set for trial in mid-February.

Guest

As a Younique presenter I don't even promote the 3D mascara - I tried it, and while I didn't have a reaction to it, I didn't notice any real difference in the volume of my lashes. Just sticking with the regular old-fashioned mascara. If someone is interested in the 3D mascara I make sure they know the formula changed a while back (with other info) and let them decide if they still want it.

Guest

3D mascara has not been made with green tea in almost 2 yrs it's been made with nylon since then it's on the fact sheet online, natural based is not the same as all natural either just saying. I love there products but I have allergies to a lot that is nature and have to read the ingredients cause there is nothing that can work for everyone in the world.

Guest

I was called a lier when I told a different rep I had a reaction to 3D ..

She said I was lieing she said all products are tested to be hypo allergenic.

I have a friend who tested it in a real lab. ITS NOT HYPO ALLERGIC.

I was told if any makeup is hypo allergic the law states in Canada must state on products.

Lip disaster

I tried one of the many unique lipsticks and my lips itches extremely bad afterwards. The next morning I woke up with my lips completely swollen and what looked like cold sores ALL over them. Eventually I was able to get the fever blisters to go away but im still struggling to get my lips back moisturized. They honestly feel like concrete and I was so embarrassed to go to school because the reaction was beyond noticeable!

If you want to get rid of graver sores you need to put ice on them for about 5-10 minuets as they are a virus and virus can’t live in real cold conditions. I used to get them a lot but after finding out 30 years ago from a doctor .

It works with me and I am 82 and seldom get cold sores or fever sores. It is best as soon as you feel you are getting them react immediately .
