It wasn't on Facebook I got the number, it was from a conversation during a chat with someone I know on Facebook who gave me the number.

I found a number on Facebook for McAfee support and called the number. The person answered as Frank from Support Services. I told him about having issues with McAfee and did they work for them. He said they provided support for McAfee products and could help. He said he needed remote access and gave me a website to connect to my computer. As I watched him look through my computer, he showed me several menus and said there are errors caused by a corrupt copy of McAfee. He told me I needed to upgrade to a new one. I asked how much this will cost and he said $499 + a $49 subscription per month for updates. I told him its a lot and wanted to think it over since I had no issues the whole time it wasn't working. He said ok, well get a pen and paper, I will give you some information in case you change your mind. As I searched my desk drawer, I noticed the SAM Lock tool opened on the screen and knew that shouldn't have happened, so I pulled the cord out of the router going to my computer. That tool is only used to lock the computer and after reading more about it, found it is used by scammers to hold your computer ransom. This is a horrible company to have someone working there that would do such a thing . After looking up the number (800-274-****) I found a company name and address: YIPPEE TECHNOLOGY LLC. 112 WEST WHITTIER BLVD STE#1, MONTEBELLO CA 90640 That address is the Montebello Motel and after searching more I found they had several websites with an older one using an address for a house: 23834 Palomino Dr Diamond Bar, CA 91765 I would caution anyone to research a company before giving them remote access to your computer or you might wind up getting locked out .
Cons:
- False support method
- Sam lock tool used
- High price of service
Reason of review:
Attempted to scam me
Preferred solution: Warn others about this scam attempt.

The company did attempt to reach out, but only to try saying it never happened and if I provided proof, I would be compensated. Heres their response: "We belived that the experience that you mentioned above is not true as we record every computer session with call and we tried finding you in our records and find none by this name also we don't charge anyone $499 as highest plan we have is of $199 so if you still think we are wrong in this, we request you to send us more detailed info like time and date of your interaction with us, name of the agent you spoke to, recording if you have any or any other info you think will be helpful.
We promise you strongest action within 24 hrs if we find your experience real plus we will give You complementary service of 5 years with antivirus protection for your computer." I provided a screen shot of my phone call log to them, but that wasn't enough , they still maintain it never happened. I am now convinced they are a scam company out of India and will never admit to any fraudulent activities.
I wouldn't trust them to give 'complementary service of 5 years with antivirus protection' even if they did accept it, because I would need to give them my personal information and remote access. That will never happen again!
