Wysong ferret food - changed and bad.

I ordered a new supply of Wysong Archetypal 1 and received something that did not look familiar although the package was the same. It was full of hard junk, dust, and sharp pieces that would be dangerous to a ferret. There was no indicationon the package or on the website of a change in formula or process. I complained to Wysong and was absolutely not listened to. I was assured it is a 'healthy' food. I was only allowed to talk to one person beyond the receptionist. They would not refer me to any ferret specialist who works for them.

I recently purchased Archetype original formula which I feed my cats. I usually get it at the pet store, but this was a one time only special deal with Wysong directly.

when I opened the bag it smelled rancid. I also noticed there were red blotches on many pieces. granted, it is dehydrated raw meat but I had never seen this before. to top it off, my cats wouldn't touch it.

(before I couldn't give it to them fast enough, and they would eat the whole bag if I let them, in fact they would chew thru the package just to get at the food.

so it must be a new formual but the quality has gone downhill. I was planning to return it for a refund but by the sound of these comments I'm in for a hassle.

I too, felt compelled to call Wysong and complain about its Ferret Arch 1 food after receiving my case and discovering my ferrets wouldn't touch it. The company betrayed its faithful customers, doing a "bait and switch" in that they never informed their customers the formula had been changed.

Moreover, their customer service is rotten and just try to get your money back when you send the product back. They will fight you at every turn. With any good company, the customers always come first. But not so with Wysong.

Whether or not they change back to their original formula I care not. I will never do business with Wysong again and have found a comparable product that my animals enjoy just as much through Casey's Hidden Pantry (AFS Burgers).

My ferret won't eat the new formula and I can't say that I would feel comfortable feeding it. I'm angry with them because they switched formulas without any warning.

Ferrets imprint on their food and it is not easy to get them to eat something new. I called them and they told me to feed the archetype burgers because it is the same formula as the old archetype. But it has big chunks of carrot and it can't be the same formula.

Texture is different and my ferret won't eat it. The girl at customer service told me if enough people complain then maybe they will switch back.
