Recent changes
It appears there have been changes in the preparation of products of late, I think this should be addressed if I am honest. I have been a loyal eater of Wrights pies and pastries since a lad back in the day, they have always been the best in the World as far as I am concerned, however, the meat and potato pies of late are seemingly under cooked with pieces of almost raw potato in, they should be ready to eat as they have always been, even cold on occasions at work, not needing a long heating to finish the cooking process.
It was bad enough when they changes the original Steak pies from the short crust pastry to the new 'healthier' cardboard pastry.
Please make this right again. Thanks.

Sub standard Pasties
When young our challenge was can we eat 3 Wrights Potato and meat Pies.
We bought 2 vegetable and meat pasties last week from Audley and there was only 5mm of filling in both.
Not impressed.

Wright's meat and potato pie
Sad day when Wright's were taken over .Wright's pies have been a Stoke tradition for years. The now owners have since modified the recipe for meat and potato pies, the pastry is doughy insipid only very lightly cooked and require a foil dish to keep their shape. The contents are no better the potatoes are only just cooked and they don't have that hint of pepper and the soft texture that we have all enjoyed .
.For years the meat and potato have held their own shape , been firm and full of flavour with a hint of pepper.
Unfourtunately I will be hanging my boots up, as they are not worth the new overpricing or the walk to collect them.

Poor response from Wrights pies. Decided to use this forum to see something done!
Very poor standard apology. Please see full letter below.
Im contacting in regards to the following incident, dated 9th of November 2021. My friend bought a couple of pies with end date 11th November 2021- photographs available- 2 adults and a 2 year old , son of my friend.
Luckily he always takes the tip-off as a habit before eating it..
and there was a full spider eggs nest.
My friend wrote to Wrights pies - letter and reply available and sent back a 5 GBP note.
This pie could have caused serious health issues. No follow up on actions.
No real service.
As a quality professional, and a consumer, I am horrified by these pictures and the possibility of anyone digesting this.
This indicates a full collapse of the quality inspection system at manufacturing. Opening questions of quality standards for the full process!
It endangers life!
And the representative thought this was an adequate Templated Reply!
The UK has very high standards and to start, I request a full investigation and results, permanent solution and measures taken to ensure no repeats!!
A response on behalf of your group to include the results of your investigation.
Last but not least, a respectful apology and compensation for the incident and risk caused.
Plus the fact that this has caused an aversion towards food products

About your steak pies
Your steak pie that I have every week , the last 2i have had was full off fat and gristle, I all so have a lot off your products and had no problem with them , my friend also said he had a bad steak pie

Not happy
Brought three pies all of these had uncooked pastry and the potatoe in them was hard and some of the potatoes had black bits on them like the potatoes were rotten

Hello
We have a tradition every Christmas
We have a box of cream cakes for the afternoon and a pie for tea on Christmas eve
No problem, they were as tasty as always.
The problem was that I purchased six Wrights oatcakes for Christmas breakfast, they were awful,
Tasteless, thick, and, as oatcakes go I would give them one out of ten.
I don't know whether this is usual or whether it was a bad batch, needless to say I will not be buying any more.
It is very unlike Wrights not to give full satisfaction.

Totally agree, they are totally crap! I will never have a Wright's item again!
Morrisons do a better pie.. I had the last pie of them today, I threw it away.
Don't even bother, they were lovely years ago. But in my opinion, they will be going out of business in the near future!
