I made an order for a large number of radiators, due to be delivered on the 17th November 2017. Nothing arrived, no contact was made by Plumbcenter, I had to chase them to ask where my delivery was.

I called the next day and no one really knew what was going on, why my delivery was late. I found out then a few days later via email, after me persistently calling that the branch didnt take my payment correctly so the radiators arrived today, 10 days late. I wish this was the final story with my dealings with PLumb Center but now, two radiators have not been delivered.

I called earlier their support line, I was told that they would call me back and as I am writing this review, I see that no one has come back to me as it is now their closing time. I will update but PLEASE do not use them in future.

This is my story:

I am refitting my bathroom and needed a flexi pipe to connect the cistern to the mains water. I knew exactly what I wanted and thought, rather naively, that the guys at my local Plumbcenter would be able to help. I walked into the Plympton branch, and as I was the only customer, smiled at both the men behind the counter. One of the men looked at me and looked down, and the other just scowled. I nearly turned around and walked out, but as I needed the pipe, I decided to carry on regardless. I explained what I wanted and the scowling guy said he didn’t know what I was talking about and passed me over to the other charmless man. I explained again that what I needed was a flexipipe of 500mm with two female 15mm ends. The charmless man then looked in his tiny drawer and told me that he didn’t have what I wanted. At no point did either man try to provide me with a solution, I was just told to get a plumber to do the job. (I found exactly what I wanted on Ebay 10 minutes after leaving the pit of misery they call a trade counter).

I found the atmosphere positively hostile, and couldn’t have been made less welcome if I’d walked in wearing a t-shirt saying, ‘Hug me, I’ve got Ebola Virus’.

I don’t know who is responsible for training their staff, but whoever it is really ought to be in a different job. I would hate to think it was because I’m a woman, because usually men are very accommodating and helpful if they know I need assistance with something. I use builders merchants and DIY stores all the time and have renovated my whole house and I have never experienced such shoddy and unfriendly treatment.

I have no doubt that this message will not be read by anyone of any importance, but I would like to say that I will never use your company again and would urge you avoid your Plympton branch like the plague, unless you are particularly masochistic and have a burning desire to have your day ruined by a couple of gormless cocktards.

Goes into Wolseley Plumb Center Northampton branch, UK. First time in March asked for 'Plumb A Joint' silicone sealant (a very common plumbing sundry in UK): he's never heard of it, I have to show him it in his own company catalogue and for some reason they dont keep it in that branch but he can order some in, unbelievable!

Second visit today in September, same *** behind the counter, I asks for 'Solvent PVC Pipe Cement', (again a very common plumbing sundry in UK) looks at computer: "Got none, can order you some in" UNBELIEVABLE!

I look accross to my right and see a stack of tubs of solvent cement on the sales counter on special offer, is this guy blind as well as ***? I yell at him "Whats that over there!!!" this guy doesnt even know what is in front of him plain to see.

A plumbing supplier with no silicone jointing compound and no solvent cement?

This is obviously big company syndrome at its worst. Avoid these *** at all costs get your stuff on Ebay through the post, it will take longer but at least your patience wont be tried to its limit AND ebay will be cheaper.
