Quack Posing As A Veterinarian

My mother's dog was brought into Whitestone Animal Hospital at 149-** **th Ave Whitestone, New York 11357 after having suddenly become motionless while at play.

Dr. Merker diagnosed a broken femur bone which turned out to be a misdiagnosis. Another doctor checked the dog's x-rays and found a tumor in the dog's stomach which had ruptured and the dog died the next day.

Every attempt to resolve this matter in court is met with stalling tactics on the part of the defendants who cannot defend their unprofessional conduct and constantly adjourn the case causing us to have to make multiple appearances in court.

The client brought their dog in for difficulty breathing and inability to walk. After taking x-rays (which document a fractured femur) and stabilizing the breathing, the owners were told by Dr.

Merker to take the dog directly to the 24 hour referral hospital for continuing care. The owners refused to follow Dr. Merker's recommendation and took their pet home against medical advice.

The owners brought a law suit against Dr Merker.

The Queens District Court found the charges to be without merit and ruled in favor of the Whitestone Animal Hospital. (Queens Court Index #27 30/11)

Supposingly, dr merker may have or may not have said that, as it is heresay. I took my 7week old kitten here on June 16, 2015 & was seen by Dr.

Oswaldo Rojas who also told me "to go home & let the swelling go down to wait a few days" before my kitten can have surgery to repair a broken femor bone in his hind leg. This doctor NEVER gave any pain meds for my kitten, his Technician, Staci, even asked the doctor "Are we going to give any take home pain meds?" I was there in the exam room, so I know what happened and what was said. Furthermore, I told the dr that my kitten cannot walk, holding his leg & it hurts him--but the good doctor made him walk--not once, twice!! Dr Rojas wasn't sure & asked the tech what she thought??

Isn't he the doctor, supposingly he is an orthopedic doctor & he doesn't know? Also on the exam table my kitten was crying in pain. The doctor said "No" as to giving any take home pain meds. Immediately after leaving the vet & going home, my kitten was not the same as he was prior to the visit.

During the night, my kitten was not doing good. I was frantic in calling the hospital to see when they open so I can go back. (Open at 10am). I called their Emergency hospital (Elmhurst Hospital & they responded that why wasn't my kitten given any pain meds??, which I told this told dr Rojas the next day when I spoke with him---cause I wanted to know that too!!

I went to another animal hospital in the area North Shore Animal Hospital in Bayside at 42-0* ***th Street, the next day June 17, 2015---They responded ASAP "STAT" Dr Rosen at North Shore was very nice & wanted to know why no pain meds were given to my kitten, seeing the injury, his left hind leg was all swollen. Unfortunately, he told me the terrible news that my kitten had died while en route to the hospital, at approx. 8:35am North Shore was great in taking immediate action in tending to my kitten. It was beautiful--they care for your pet as if they were their own.

What needed to be done was an Emergency surgery & not send me home WITHOUT ANY MEDS & my little kitten SUFFERED A HORRIBLE DEATH I was with my kitten the whole night. I witnessed how much he suffered. No human, no cat or any animal especially a 7week old kitten should have to Suffer this way. It is INHUMANE!!!

ALL BECAUSE OF THIS SO-CALLED "DOCTOR" ROJAS. The next day (June 18) I called Dr Rojas & he completely LIED--he said that I wanted to think about it (the surgery) & go home. Dr Rojas told me that my kitten CANNOT have the surgery until the swelling goes down!! Also, Dr Rojas told me, when I questioned him as to why he could not give any pain meds & his answer was "my kitten might have a problem with his kidneys--which is *** I much rather have if I have to, a kidney problem than to now BURY MY LITTLE KITTEN!!!

THIS PLACE IS THE WORST ANIMAL HOSPITAL & I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN EVEN IF THEY ARE THE LAST ONES ON PLANET EARTH---NEVER!!!!! HORRORFIED & OUT-RAGED!! And this facility takes Friends of Animals vouchers---why, when they put my kitten thru HELLL. WHITESTONE ANIMAL HOSPITAL OFFERS CRUELY TO ANIMALS, They are Not friends of them!!!!!!!

Personally, Whitestone Animal Hospital should be given a Violation or Shut them down completely!! (Queens District Court should send people there to see what actually goes on, how this place operates with Lack of Compassion & Cruelty to animals)!

Typo---the next day June 18th, 2015--no smiley face----UNHAPPY & EXTREMELY SADDENED & IN SHOCK. I am sorry I ever went here. I'd be better off if I stayed at home--he would still be alive.
