Westerly Hospital

I brought my fiancee here for help because he thought he was going into Kidney failure. Well ambulance guy said it was "just a panic attack" and nurses here took him for his word.

One nurse a women with glasses was so rude and made me feel so uncomfortable. She looked at me Everytime I left his room. She made me feel embarrassed when I was trying to help "speed the process" by bringing urine container out of room which I didn't know your not supposed to but she says in a loud voice "that's supposed to stay in the room" Our doctor was good. N the nurse ended up being better than expected.

But this one women shouldn't be working around sick people and their families with that attitude. She should be at a desk.

She is the reason why hospitals loose business sadly and patients don't come back. I have never personally had this problem in the past but nights like these make you think twice about hospitals.

I went into the er experiencing severe stomach pain.the dr came in and talked to me about my pain and briefly felt my stomach.I waited a lengthy time and a tech came in and took bloodwork.I was not seen by anyone again until the nurse came in with discharge papers.I was confused and worried that I was being discharged without further discussion with the dr or further tests or a diagnosis.I shared my concerns with the nurse who dismissed my concerns.I asked to at least be told how my lab work looked and she informed me it was never run.I asked to speak to a higher up and the head nurse came in and told me in so many words that they did all they were going to do.scarey!! I actually moved out of westerly ,not totally for this reason but it played a significant part in my decision.I couldn't be comfortable in a town that basically had no hospital care.if you are able,GO TO ANY OTHER HOSPITAl.I rate this negative 1

Jaccarino is a joke. I went in with the fear of having a blood clot. I have a blood clotting syndrome and I am on a blood thinner. No one actually laid a hand on me for an assessment, or listened to my lungs.

I had a ct scan of my chest that ruled out clots but showed other issues with my lungs. The Dr passed the buck and referred me to a pulmonologist in town that isn't even accepting new patients. My primary care reviewed the info and said he feels I have viral pneumonia. This hospital is a joke.

If you value your health, stay far, far away from this place. Non caring, poorly trained staff.

I will go elsewhere.

I AM AN EYE WITNESS TO HOW WESTERLY HOSPITAL TREATS FAMILY MEMBERS. I WAS PRESENT FOR THE CONVERSATION THAT TOOK PLACE BETWEEN THE FAMILY MEMBER WHO WAS TRYING TO GET MEDICAL RECORDS AND THE HEAD OF SECURITY WHICH I LATER DISCOVERED WHEN I CALLED THE HOSPITAL WAS MAURICE PARKER.

THERE WERE THREE SECURITY SURROUNDING THIS POOR LADY WHO JUST WANTED TO GET MEDICAL RECORDS FOR HER MOTHER. SHE STATED THAT HER MOTHER WAS LOST BY THE HOSPITAL AND SHE HAD PROOF THAT HER MOTHER WAS BEING KEPT WESTERLY HOSPITAL AGAINST HER WILL. SHE HAD PROOF THAT WESTERLY HOSPITAL MADE UP A STORY TO KEEP HER MOTHER AND SHE CALLED THE POLICE. WHEN THE POLICE CAME HE TOOK AN ACCOUNT AND MENTIONED TO THE LADY THAT SHE COULD FILE A POLICE REPORT IF IT WAS A CRIME.

SHE ASKED IF SHE COULD DO A SILVER ALERT SINCE HER MOTHER WAS MISSING.

THE POLICE SAID THAT WAS FINE AND TOLD HER TO GO TO THE POLICE STATION TO FILE THE REPORT AND HE WOULD MEET HER THERE. IF THIS IS WHAT IS HAPPENING AT WESTERLY HOSPITAL NO ONE AND I MEAN NO ONE SHOULD GO TO WESTERLY HOSPITAL!!!!!

I have read the complaints by others and would like to add to it. Today, I went to Westerly Hospital to obtain the medical records.

Low and behold, the information was completely FALSE. The attending physician was Rita R. Gongalez MD. According to the record, she "Authenticated and Edited" the medical records.

I had to amend those medical records by filling out the paperwork. What they stated as the "Chief Complaint" NEVER HAPPENED. I then filed with the Rhode Island Health Dept. and have contacted an attorney.

My doctor will also hear about this as well.

Just like the other party, I am considering a law suit too. I would be interested in a class action law suit.

I was reading how this hospital went into receivership for money mis-management. In layman's terms, it went into bankruptcy.

Unfortunately it was the closest hospital to us, but was horrified to see the inside upstairs patients' rooms. What a dump! They had towels on the chair in the patient room. The toilet looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks.

The bed sheet was filthy. The hall way looked like it could use a coat of paint or three coats for that matter. The personnel looked like they did not want to be there either. No one smiled.

They all had this serious look as if they were at a funeral.

Don't take my word for it. Go take a tour of Westerly Hospital upstairs and you will see it all!

I am considering a law suit against Westerly Hospital. They almost killed my mother by prescribing her Haldol, 10 times the dosage that even Butler Hospital prescribes their mental patients.

OMG what a nightmare! We got her out as quickly as we could. The Doctors and staff in ER were useless. This is the worse hospital and don't know why they are still in business!!!!

WARNING, don't go there and don't send your family member there either. It is unbelievable that these idiots to dictate that much effort to not even consulting family members. They don't know what they are doing.

Ask three people what's going on and you will receive three different responses. *** is a *** does!

I heard a very disturbing case about an elderly woman that has been kept at Westerly Hospital for three weeks. She is still there.

There are no medical reasons to keep her, but this hospital that is not a teaching hospital with no medical degrees of importance is keeping her languishing with no change of clothes, no clean under wear. Apparently no body cares, at least in the town of Westerly RI.

Apparently they think Westerly Hospital is too big an employer that they are keeping this run down hospital in order to keep employed unskilled staff. This is unbelievable if true AND we can say that we WILL get to the bottom of this and post NAMES HERE!
