Pride Mobility Products Corp. - design flaw in lift chair, unwilling to help with refund
My husband has Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a movement disorder. We purchased a Pride Lift Chair 2/2011 to help with his mobility issues.
This chair has a design flaw. When fully extended to a reclining position, the back rest jumps out of a groove and then when the chair is brought forward, it goes up higher and higher until the pressure builds and it FALLS back into this groove with a BIG THUD. The chair also has a foot rest that collapses as the chair is lifted, when it THUDS down so violently someone could get seriously injured by the footrest. Also, the person sitting in the chair is "jarred" by this sudden movement of the chair.
The dealer we purchased the chair thru has replaced just about all the part there are replaceable and it still kept doing the same thing, then they replaced the whole chair Jan. 2012, and the new chair started doing the same thing within 3 months. They came out ONCe and tightened some screws, took some pics and now nobody will call us back. The manuf.
is Pridemobilityproducts corp.
and they are unwilling to do anything besides call the dealer.

Same problems plus motor when I bought it new a few years ago. The company denies any issues with my chair but my tech says otherwise.
Bad customer support on their own products. When I get another one it won't be by Pride.
This article gives the light in which we can observe the reality. this is very nice one and gives in depth information. thanks for this nice article.
