2022 Pacifica Limited Poor Service
- West Hills tested batteries but did not diagnose the charging issue; local shop found them dry and damaged from improper charging, costing $893.69.
Never heard from West Hills Chrysler Jeep concerning my complaint. Still recommend that consumers do not do business with West Hills Chrysler Jeep. Service Department appears to be staffed by incompetent mechanics who do not thoroughly investigate issues to solve problems.
I had to call AAA twice for a jump start due to dead batteries. The tech at the dealership stated that he had tested both batteries and after charging the main battery that both passed. He did no further analysis to determine the cause of the failure to hold a charge, probably due to lack of knowledge. The service advisor told me the batteries were ok and when I said they were not she contradicted me indicating I knew nothing about the batteries.
I then took the vehicle to my local shop and the tech found both batteries bone dry of electrolyte and damaged due to improper charging.
Even though the vehicle was still under the power train warranty, I had to pay $893.69 for new batteries.
I have had no problems since installing the new batteries.
It was obvious that the tech at West Hills did not fully analyze the issue due to lack of knowledge and/or experience or both. The service advisor indicated to me when I questioned the techs findings that I did not know what I was talking about.
