Itchy scalp after one use
Hi,
I used it once and loved how my hair texture was enhanced. But soon after started having an itchy scalp.
A day or two went by so washed it again but with my regular shampoo and STILL have itchy scalp almost a week later.
I will NOT be using WEN AGAIN!
I am praying my hair does not fall out like I have read on so many sites where itching was a problem after using Wen.
(so because I am under the minimum 100 word requirement I am still typing.{{Redacted}} but really that is all I have to say).

WEN Hair Cleanser - hair loss and scalp, body, and face rashes
Around 2011 I started using WEN hair cleanser because their advertising made me believe it was gentle on hair and did not contain soap and damaging chemicals. I liked it so much I bought it by the gallon and since I have short hair, it lasted a long time.
Unfortunately too long. My hair started falling out and now what hair is left is baby fine and too sparse to cover my bald spots. Even though my hair is short I have to comb it forward to try and hide some of the bald spots. The worst part ---- I also started having problems with my scalp itching and then developed numerous scalp sores that I still have today.
Unfortunately they spread to my neck, then the back of my arms and now for almost a year they are on my face. They started as small red type blisters on my face and kept spreading. Neither my Neutrogena skin care nor my 3 kinds of prescription ointments can get rid of them. I now have reddish-brown scars under my skin on my face.
A Dermatologist could only tell me to continue my prescriptions and it will run its course. Soooo embarrassing and frustrating. I have never had any kind of rash on my body.
I had always looked younger than my age - not now. This skin condition continues to cause me discomfort, emotional distress, and depression.
- Its damages to my physical health and mental wellbeing

WEN caused me to lose more than 50% of my hair!
I I used WEN for 4 years, until I figured it was the cause of my hair falling out! I thought my hair loss might be related to stress or age, but looking back, I wasn't any more stressed than before, and my hair never fell out!
My bathtub would be lined in hair! I have fine thin hair anyway, and to have that much of a hair loss was devastating! It was a tablespoon full everyday in the tub, and then hand fulls in my brush, which I bought the most expensive boar bristle brushes to keep what little hair I had! The thing is, they could have come forward as soon as one person said they had hair loss!
not wait until 100s of thousands of people filed lawsuits against them, and BTW they still denied it!
What little hair I did have left was shiny and bouncy. (but at what cost?) Lisa Chambers

Wen - Shampoo Review from Oakville, Ontario
I was a professional model with beautiful long natural hair. After using this product my scalp and face broke out in boils and my hair fell out in chunks.
This shampoo destroyed my life. I wish there was a way to make them pay for what they did to me.
If anyone has any info at all on a class action suit please email me!!! pocahontas_indian_goddess@***.com
WEN or coincidence?
Began with WEN. After three months it started falling out.
After seven months it was all gone. I mean ALL gone. Still waiting for regrowth after two years and six months. Foolish to,believe his claims that "it's the safest thing you can use".
Lawsuit still going on. Be warned. Cannot believe they still sell this product. Many doctor visits and blood tests later I have been deemed healthier than the doctors I have visited.
Dermatologist refuse to believe a shampoo could cause this and don't want to admit it. Has ruined my life.
Please don't fall for this ***. Thanksso much for this forum.
Hair loss, itchiness, baldness
I first purchased WEN by Chaz Dean cleansing conditioner in Sephora in 2014. I liked the idea of cleaning my hair without using a regular shampoo and harsh chemicals.
WEN’s cream made my hair feel smooth and moisturized. After a few weeks, though, I noticed that my scalp would feel itchy and I saw flakes of skin in my hair. Unfortunately, it took me several months to realize that the problems were caused by WEN. During application, the WEN conditioner gives a cooling feeling to the scalp, so to alleviate my problem, I actually started using it more often!
The more irritated and itchy my scalp would feel, the more often I would wash my hair with WEN’s conditioner. Before using WEN, I would wash my hair 1-2 times a week. After starting using WEN, I would have to wash my hair ever second day. I couldn’t go more than two days because my scalp would feel almost burning.
The itchiness and pruritus would become unbearable. Again, I didn’t realize that WEN’s product caused this allergic reaction and kept using it. I even signed up for their subscription and continued using for about a year. After a few months of using WEN, my hair started to fall out.
Huge balls of hair were left in the drain after each wash, and my hair got thinner and thinner. I panicked when I saw a completely bald spot on one side of my head. What? I was in my 30’s and it was too early for starting loosing my hair.
Nobody in my family has any problems with baldness or thinning hair, so it can’t be genetic. I am also leading a very healthy lifestyle, with good nutrition and exercise. First after my husband told me that I was loosing lots of hair and asked if it could be my shampoo did I connect the dots. I noticed that the itchiness and the burning sensation started a couple hours after washing with WEN’s conditioner.
I immediately stopped using it.
Unfortunately, I let it go pretty far and am still suffering from thin hair. My bald patches (2 in total) are still there but are slowly getting better.
- Arrogant attitude on the phone
- Baldness
- Severe hair loss

Wen; Use common sense when washing and styling your hair and change up no matter what you use.
If someone wants to pick at spelling then that’s probably the universe telling them that they were not really put together correctly as someone must have mispelled the instructions when it came time for programing manners the read banners and screwed up. It is just a...
If you hair is braking it must be do to other processing such as blow drying, hot combs, hair color, age and lact of nutrition. People will loose several hundread strands of hair a day depending on your genetics and color as every Cosmotology School teaches. You should always diversify your hair products along with what you put on your skin. One leave in or on cosmetic is like contact lenses, if your eyes are irritated you should take them out immediately.
You should always look for expiration dates on everything as it is there for a reason. Common sence people! There is nothing wrong with allowing your conditioner sit on your head for the time it takes to wash your face and brush your teeth as your hair can only absorb so much. The health dose come from within and hair and skin vitamins and avoiding High PH shampoo (lots of suds and makes you hair squeek after rinceing) is opening your hair shaft and will allow the conditioner in.
If you use a hot comb or blowdryer that is too hot for your hand it is probably too hot for your hair and your hair can break off in sections and scortch your scalp. As a famous hairdresser used to say ( use your fingers between the heat and your scalp and if your hand gets too hot you are heating your hair to high ). You should never heat your hair past damp.
Never use a comb or brush that scratches your scalp though you should stimulate your scalp and unclog pores with your fingertips and not your nails. Shake your head darling and if you see fall out you are doing something wrong.

You are very lucky your hair didnt fall out. I contacted the company directly regarding that issue and was informed that there was no "scientific" data or evidence that could happen.
Well, i wasnt a chrome dome before using this swill. Mud would be safer and orobably work better, too.
