Answered my questions and explained why things worked the way they did. I didn't agree with it because it causes a convoluted processing on the doctors part, but at least I know moving forward.

Don't quit working to get the answers you need.

If there is a reason for certain actions then they need to be clear so you can determine what actions you need to take the next time it comes up. I still don't agree with what was done and why, but at least I know how to prevent it the next time.

I was able to speak with another agent who was extremely helpful. The reason why they stated they did not pay for the bloodwork was because it was not coded as preventative as the two that were paid had been.

The two paid were a part of the Homocysteine panel and were were coded in that fashion.

I am still not happy that I pay the amount I do for health care and routine bloodwork has to be coded a specific way for it to be covered. This is largely because of my issues and a genetic defect that I have requires me to have them done every 3 months to keep them in a safe zone.

Original review Mar 12, 2026
Recently had bloodwork done through my doctor only to discover that, for the first time ever with any insurance company, they will not pay for any bloodwork at all. Strangely, they did pay for two items billed by the lab.

When I called to speak to them and find out what they had paid for, I got put on hold for 20 minutes, then told it was for the homocysteine test, which still shows up on my lab bill as my responsibility.

When I then asked why they supposedly paid for this blood test but not any of the other bloodwork, the agent hung up on me. I have added the annotated EOB showing what they did and did not cover (minus any pertinent data) and the lab bill showing how what they said they paid is still on my bill.
Cons:
  • Pay almost 2800 dollars a month for no benefit paying 800 deduct

Preferred solution: I would like to know still what it was that was paid for and if it was for bloodwork I want to know why it was covered and nothing else.

User's recommendation: avoid at all cost
