Verified ReviewerRoach and Mice infestation
Roach infestation maintenance request is closed without any work done. No body came to work in my unit.
I have roach infestation and it hasnt been long that i have moved in this apartment. I leave a spoon for 5 mins and this happens in the middle of cooking. It has been 5-6 days i have raised a request. Dont rent this unit unless you have checked everything.
We had to as we moved from Ontario but will soon move. You will die of diseases. This image is nothing i could post videos.
Update- The unit is not livable we are forced to leave and break our lease because the management couldnt make the unit roach free after treatments and was also not serious about taking followups.
The gaps were promised to be sealed but was never sealed. Now I am also encountering dead mice.
- Extremely dirty building
- Mice
- Roaches
Preferred solution: Full refund

Breach of contract
At the time of the initial contract, there was no explanation that the contracted unit could not be upgraded. And I couldn't see it because there was a person living at the time of the contract.
And when I first saw it, it was old and dirty, so I asked for a new blind. The staff said that the replacement period would take two weeks, so I said I would wait. But yesterday, on the day they paid for the keys, they said they couldn't do it because your unit was cheap to rent. This is a problem. It's a problem to say it's impossible without any explanation from the beginning. Also, saying you're going to repaint the stained wall on the day of the move means you're not ready.
There's a problem.
During today's conversation, they told me to move it because I'll cancel it if you don't accept it. I think there's a problem with staff training, and I felt so bad because he was unkindly banging on the desk and taking the documents with director.
Preferred solution: Apology

Verified Reviewer |Apartments lied to me to take my apartment
I have been living here at Brookwood Village Apartments for almost 5 years. My first year at these apartments was awesome.
I would have done a commercial for this place for free. After the first year everything went downhill with the apartments from then on. Honestly speaking I would have moved a lot sooner, but I did not have transportation and moving without any transportation is a hassle. After the first year though it took forever and a day for maintenance to show up to fix anything.
My oldest daughter set my kitchen on fire accidentally when she was cooking, and the apartment had a mild fire. The fire was important to me, one for my daughter's safety and two because it must have been a big fire because there was *** from the smoke on my living room, kitchen, dining room, bathroom and even in my bedroom. So, it was a big fire. The oven light and fan had melted from the heat.
The *** even covered my light fixtures and the ceiling. I called the apartments that day as soon as I made it home. I did not get anyone to my apartment to paint or even replace the stove or its fixtures for almost one entire year. When they did come and paint, they walked in without knocking and my daughters and myself were getting dressed.
On top of that when they finished painting, since we could not be in the apartment, they locked us out and my keys were inside the apartment. When I went to the office to have someone open the door, I had to show ID and go through *** and high water like I was lying or as if they did not know that they just had my walls painted. After going through that I walked into my apartment, and they only painted the walls by the stove. Everything else is still black and I never got my stove light or stove fan back.
I can't tell you the countless times I had to leave work cause my daughters called me and told me the apartments had walked into my apartment again. Mind you my preference she stated an adult must be home before you enter. One time I had an overflow with my toilet. Ie was on a Saturday.
When I reached the emergency maintenance, I was told that an overflowing toilet is not an emergency and to wait to call them on Monday even though my bottom stairs neighbor apartment had been flooded a total of five times since I've been there. After that, my dishwasher and dish drainer broke several times. This was also causing the apartment to flood. The dishwasher finally broke and would not work.
It also took them an entire year to replace the dishwasher and when they did, the apartments said it was brand new, and it wasn't. The dishwasher was just as ragged as the first one. Before they came to replace the dishwasher, I called maintenance with a list of the things that needed their attention. The apartments sent me an email stating that for me to get the things fixed I need to bring a copy of my key to the office cause somehow, they don't have a copy.
This irked me because keeping a spare key to the apartment is not my job, and how can you tell me you won't fix anything until I take care of something that has absolutely nothing to do with me? The final limit. I lost my job due to covid. I talked to the office and informed them I was in school, and I am looking for another job, but my financial aid is coming, and I can use that to get caught back up.
The lady in the office stated she was still going to file the eviction, I asked her what could be done if they came and locked the apartment. The lady stated I can pay an extra $250.00 on top of my late fees and rent. I said OK, and I thought well if they do lock it up, I can at least use my financial aid to get my apartment back, I also just started another job and was going to receive my first paycheck on the first of that following month. They came to lock up my apartment and when I asked the lady how much the fee is again, she said she wasn't going to do it.
So, you made me think you were going to work with me and then changed your mind as you locked up my apartment. WWOW !!!! I didn't have transportation and they gave me 10 mins to grab a handful of items and told me to get off the property. To make matters worse I received my financial aid exactly 1 week after that happened.
So, this company is so selfish and greedy they couldn't wait one week. Not to mention they have been bought out a total of four times since I signed my lease. And this is not particularly happened to me at Brookwood village apartments, but it's all Im going to disclose for the moment. So, if you are in Oklahoma City and you come across Brookwood Village apartment homes run the other way.
These people will take your money and make you homeless. And you wone at all if you have kids or even if you'reRUN trying. They don't care. Don't let the look of the outside of the apartments fool you.
It has been one of the most horrible experiences of my life. Stay away from Brookwood Village.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution
User's recommendation: Run away and don't look back

Verified ReviewerComplaint
I had a friend coming to my resident to pick up a sound bar and subwoofer. I told him to wait under my patio so I could drop him the keys.
While he was waiting a lease agent and property manager were going for a smoke break. The property manager yelled to him and accused him of buying drugs. The lease agent I know as Jackie, took a picture of him. He responded what are you talking about?
The property manager began to talk down to him, calling him names related to a drug user. (He is far from) he felt discriminated against so he tried to go to the office to make a complaint, which Jackie shut the door and locked it on him. I feel insulted as he was my guest. I dont feel I live in a safe resident anymore if this is how the employees act.
Especially when they decide who can make a complaint and who cant. I would like something done about this, otherwise I will have to take it to court for discrimination.
- Staff is unpleasant
Preferred solution: Apology and a possibly termination of one of the two staff involved in the incident. My guest should not feel unwelcome.
User's recommendation: I don’t not recommend the Grande Prairie, AB ranchlands apartments location to anyone. The staff is unpleasant and demeaning. I’ve also seen one of the lease agents who lives in these apartments using illegal substances. Something needs to be done about the management of this location.
