Bad service
- - Stores do not enforce mask rules for staff.
- - Tinley store and others reportedly do not follow the rules.
- - Calls to the South Holland office go unheard.
Stores do not enforce mask rules for their own employees. Several employees in the Tinley store do not follow the stores own rules.
Customers are expected to wear masks but not the employees, some wearing nothing at all. I am told this is happening at their other locations also.
How disrespectful especially to the elderly community of shoppers. Calls to South Holland office regarding this matter go unheard.
Food quality
- - Ground beef appeared red outside and brown inside; customer discarded it.
- - Weeks without streusel or apple coffee cakes; staff couldn't explain.
on 10-10-20 i was shopping at Walt in tinley park--i did purchase a package of ground round for dinner--opened the package at 2pm and the outside of the beef was bright red but the inside was totally brown--i threw it out--how can you sell beef like that--tells me it was not fresh--beef goes bad from the outside in not from the inside out------also two weeks in a row you have not had streusel cherry or apple coffee cakes--did they stop carrying these coffee cakes--lady in bakery had no idea why they didn't have any she said i would have to ask the manager who was busy in the freezer section--come on Walt you are better than this----i think your store is going downhill--not like it use to be
Preferred solution: not looking for anything just wanted to let you know
Poor customer service
- - Went to a deli 20 minutes before closing.
- - The clerk said yes but you'd have to wait awhile and she labeled items while I waited.
Went to deli about 20 minutes before closing. Ignored for a minute or 2.
Finally, asked the clerk if they were still open. Response was " Yes, but you will have to wait awhile." She proceeded to go to a case and put labels on items in the case while i stood there waiting, I walked away.
- Convenient
- Customer service
Preferred solution: Customer service means waiting on customers then doing your other work.

Seafood clerk..horrible customer service and lies
- - Emailed a complaint to Walt's Food Center; no reply.
- - Clerk said Alaska; later product showed China.
- - Manager gave no follow-up; no response.
Walt's Food Center....Tinley Park, Illinois. I emailed them my complaint and got no response.
I called the clerk to ask about a frozen fish that was on sale, because I wanted to save myself the trip if it didn't meet my needs. I no longer buy fish from the Orient or the Gulf Coast. My question to the clerk was....what country is your pink salmon fillets from? He responded that he thought from Alaska.
I then ask him if he was sure and he says..That I can come in and check it for myself because it is in the frozen section. I say could you check it for me, so I don't make a wasted trip. He puts me on hold for a few minutes and comes back and confirms it is from Alaska. I thank him.
I come in the next day to find it is printed right on there that it is from China. He is no where to be found. I go home and e-mail the corporation because I am not sure if his service is encouraged by his manager. No response on my e-mail.
The next week there is a new fish ad. I call the same store and ask for the manager. I explain what happened the week before and that I would appreciate if he would personally check the country of origin since I do not trust his seafood clerk. He has zero response to my story of the week before and simply checks the current fish and tells me the country.
Meaning to me that he has no interest in his clerk's poor customer service.
So poor customer service at the store level..poor/no e-mail response from the customer service "contact us" page...poor customer service from the individual store manager. Allyson rochkus Roethle
