Replacing Fuses

My wife went to Walker tire on 5/23/14 to get her 50 amp ignition fuse changed because it had blown. Walker Tire also stated that A/C Valves also needed to be changed along with re-filling the freon and charged $182.The $182 consisted of a $90 diagnostic fee, $5.99 for the fuse, $14.99 for port valve, $4.99 for Schrador valve, and $1.19 for R134A (whatever that code is??). The same exact day the fuse blows again so my wife takes the car back to Walker Tire in the morning where they attempt to charge her another $98 for diagnostic fee and to separate wires that where rubbing together that was causing the blow outs (this should have been "diagnosed" at the first visit instead they didn't diagnose anything that had to do with the fuse blowing or issue in the first place, they just replaced it but still charged that outrageous fee, because they "assumed it was the battery causing the blow out"). My issue is that why are they assuming when we pay for you to diagnose? Then the fact that they are charging my wife at all for work that they did the day before and don't exercise a 24 hour (at least) warranty on the work they do. Two, you want to charge another diagnostic fee or labor fee for something that should have been diagnosed and fixed in the first visit. Instead of having proper customer service the ladies went back and fourth with my wife in the shop and she came home upset about the entire thing. So in total we payed $232 just to have wires separated, valves changed and a fuse put in all of this requires approx 30-40 minutes. Needless to say we will not be returning here any more we are also reporting them to the BBB because these unethical practices are saddening and horrible business practices.

Walker Tire LLC - Walker, La

Walker Tire charged my wife $3500 to put a new 134a A/C system in a car worth about $1500. When it quit working less than 1 month later, she returned to discover that it was out of freon already. They told her that newer freon in cars like that is supposed to leak out, and that she would have to return each month and pay $90 to refill the freon. She agreed to have it filled, and then took it to a different company the following month. Without even telling the new mechanic what employees at Walker Tire said, he came in and told my wife that there were 3 leaks in the new A/C system. The total for fixing all 3 leaks, which included changing a small valve, and filling the 134a freon was far less than Walker Tire tried to charge each month for just changing the freon. I find it appalling that instead of finding and fixing the leaks as they should have, Walker Tire decided to try and scam my wife out of an additional $90 per month. The A/C is now functioning perfectly, and we have not had a problem since we took it to a different mechanic. At the very least, this is a testament to the lack of technical knowledge and equipment at Walker Tire LLC. At the very worst, this was criminal act.

I hope that you and your wife reported them to the BBB because their business practices are criminal they seem to be embezzling money from their customers for over priced services and performing services that are not needed. This is a shame!
