W hotel stuck at rooftop bar for 30 minutes

We went to the rooftop bar on a Friday night in Washington, DC. When we decided to leave around 1 am, there was a group of 50-75 people waiting in line.

It was a literally chaos. There was no line, the stairs were an emergency exit only, and the 2 elevators took 7 people at a time. Without any kind of organization, recent additions to the line were pushing their way to the front and fights were breaking out. The security was a joke, they had no control at all and we waited for 30 minutes.

I imagine it happens every night. At one point there was an emergency and somebody was rushed by everybody with 4 people on staff escorting him. He was holding his neck with both hands. I assume he was injured from the chaos.

The staff took all their time dealing with the mess they couldn't do anything else.I was furious they wouldn't let me leave. They didn't seem to kick out people starting fights because they couldn't, but I would have tried to get kicked out so I wouldn't have to deal with it anymore.

Not the 'quiet' atmosphere that they tout on their website. Pure chaos on the third floor with music that litterally shakes the walls and loud guests in the halls and other rooms. Can't get out of here fast enough.
