My moonroof has been leaking in my Golf since the first year or two that I've had it. A recall came out during the pandemic, but the part was unavailable due to supply chain issues.

I've been on a waiting list for over two years! They refuse to extend the warranty, leaving it to the good will of the dealer to foot the cost. The dealer cannot fix something they are unable to get the part for! The dealership has been doing temporary fixes, at no cost to me, for several years.

There has been a class-action lawsuit regarding this matter due to the large number of people affected. I love my VW, but I will not buy another one due to this issue!

Cons:
  • Vw of america passes the buck

Preferred solution: Replace the defective part!

User's recommendation: Stay away from VW!
