AI Highlights
  • - Prices up; standards down; Shawn fills vacancies.
  • - Heather won't file maintenance; she is nasty.
  • - Safety issues: gunshots, crime, roaming teens.

Used to be a gorgeous community, and they jacked prices up. I was happy to pay additional but they drastically reduced standards.

Lots of empty units meant the new manager Shawn let anyone and everyone in. Heather the leasing girl is nasty & hateful & won’t put in maintenance requests. I heard Landy the fat ugly leasing girl say on phone when I was in office putting my notice in , “you only have two felonies so you’re approved. Three is our cut off right now”.

I asked her, she said Shawn modified approval criteria to fill vacancies. Vue sucks, people roam around all night long, I’ve been approached 4 different times by dealers. On Friday night a trio of black, white, Mexican teenage boys were trying car doors at 3am. They had holster with pistol- armed would be robbers and vandals.

Courtesy officer won’t answer calls. I heard gun shots last night. To think people let the kids run loose all hours, dogs swim in pool, and there are shootings? Tipton made baddddddd changes to lower standards and push good people out.

My wife is black and even said that quality of tenants declined & it looks like Oak Cliff. Don’t rent here, they should rename it to Trails of Oak Cliff.

Vue Castle Hills racist to prospective renters

AI Highlights
  • - The reviewer says stay away due to office prejudice.
  • - They allege weekend staff denied rentals with no wait list and showed apartments to Mexicans.

Stay away. They prejudice here.

On weekend customer service girl with brown hair at desk on the right said they don't got any apartment home to rent or see. She say they ain't got no wait list either. We see her be friendly and take Mexicans to look at apartment home up by mailboxes tho. Rang up to talk to manager and girl named Lindy or Lindsay something like that rude and hang up phone.

Do ur self a favor, stay away or go to Discovery down the way. I get word round town they be racist.

Resolved: Vue Castle Hills Apartment Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - New management cuts costs; trash overflows and dog mess.
  • - Lease renewals and rent hikes with poor communication.
  • - Gate issue took 5 months to fix.
Updated by user Feb 09, 2017

In resolution, the complex manager Sandie was very nice, respectful and responsive. I received a 75% refund, and though I still paid out on something I wasn't responsible for breaking, I appreciate and am grateful for the compromise.

Overall, I'm satisfied with how this latest issue was resolved. However, this management company needs to accept that the hundreds of residents here have been used to a certain standard and quality of living; it's what we pay highly for and why we chose this place to call home. It's not a business to us.

Rather than raising prices, forcing good people out, and lowering quality, the goal should be to retain residents who care and contribute positively to their community. I really hope in the next 6 months, they can turn it around so Vue becomes a place I'd like to continue residing.

Original review Feb 08, 2017

This was the most amazing complex when I moved in a year and a half ago, beautifully up kept, clean and quiet, lovely people. The new property management company (Tipton Group) has cut costs to the detriment of the residents, trash everywhere and bins constantly overflowing into the parking lot since they changed trash companies and eliminated one of the onsite trash bins, dog *** everywhere, a maintenance team who cares very little for retaining standards, an office team that rotates every 3 weeks or so and couldn't care less about the problems, terrible issues with re-signing my lease and jacking up fees and rent on most people I've talked to here, 5 months to fix a gate issue.

And now, they are charging me $250 for a broken window replacement when 1. I didn't break it and now that the window is gone I can't prove it and 2. They ABSOLUTELY did not advise me beforehand that I'd have to pay out of pocket (despite anything mgt says in reply to this post--I actually asked Dave, the maintenance guy straight out and he said "no they shouldn't charge you", nor did the girl I spoke with 3+ times say anything while scheduling the repair) and 3. They deceptively added the charge to my rent (without description) so there's no way I could contest it prior to paying bc I'd be charged a late fee for not paying the full "rent" amount shown on my account.

I'll go out of my way to avoid this company in future and share this experience.

Sad that a management company can ruin what was such a great property and living experience. PS, whatever *** graphic designer said the new logo would compliment the property, it's disgusting to see everyday

Cons:
  • Slow remedy to major issues - security
  • Office staff quality of service
  • Lack of property cleanliness
