V Tech Corvette Experience
I have a 1963 Split Window Coupe that developed drive train issues. I contacted VTech Corvette, Jim Mervis, on a Friday morning to discuss my problems. Jim had an open spot in his schedule and was able to get me in the following Monday. VTech Corvette diagnosed the rear end noises after test driving and performing some partial disassembly. This exploratory investigation resulted with Jim himself, rebuilding my differential, both trailing arms, rebuilding the parking brakes and replacement of other worn or broken rear and front suspension parts and complete wheel alignment. Jim provided me with excellent information as to what was wrong with the various conditions. He has a keen focus in making sure your vehicle is properly operational and SAFE. Once the work progressed I had Jim replace my gas tank sending unit, install missing choke parts and provide me with an estimate of work items I should consider for the future. VTech is a professional, clean, organized and safe shop. Jim is a heavily experienced and knowledgeable corvette mechanic who is also is a C2 Corvette owner. He's very cost competitive, reliable, stands behind his work and treats customer's cars as if they're his. Jim contacted me every day with an update of the work performed and upcoming progress. I'll be going back to VTech next spring and highly recommend them to anyone who owns a C2/C3 corvette. Ralph L. Cincinelli Williams Bay, WI

A five star ***** shop
I am from Florida and I dealt with Jim from Vtech Corvette. I send to rebuilt my differential as well as my trailing arms. I have nothing but EXCELLENT things to say about him and his staff. He was very professional and helpful. I called him several times thru out my rebuild for tech support and guidance and he always made me feel like my project and I mattered to him. I am getting ready to send him my control arms to be rebuild to them. Excellent service fast turn around time and I have no problems with core charges. I would recommend him and Vtech. A five ***** service shop.

Verified Reviewer |I returned a core and the owner, Jim Mervis, said it was bad and kept my core and money
Buyer Beware! I sent my core back to this man and he was supposed to refund me $250. He did not give me my money back because he said the core was bad/not usable. I then asked him, since he would not refund me, to send my core back instead. He then started arguing with me, cursing at me and yelling that he was not going to return the core to me either! As I see it, it's one of 2 things you either give me my refund OR return the core. (What he will do is sell this core to someone else and make even more money off of me!) My credit card company (this was purchased off the internet) said they cannot help me and to get a lawyer. Absolutely not worth paying a lawyer, so I am screwed! Stay away from this company! Of course he has a website in which he posts people that boast about him, but there is no where you can write a complaint about him.

As I do with all customers on initial contact we talk about the core. Most of the customers state that their cores "look " good.
Looking good and actually being reusable are different. We disassemble the units, clean, bead blast, inspect and measure all the components. This is how we determine the condition of the various components. Unfortunately this customers trailing arm did not have any reusable parts.
The majority of the cores we receive are reusable or components of the cores are reusable. Each situation is different.
Ignorance is bliss. Once again, halfwit, no matter what the situation was with the core he was asked to SEND IT BACK.
He chose to keep it, rebuild it and make money off of it and not refund us. Nothing but a crook!
What people don't realize is these cores are 40 or 50 years old. Your core is no good. Quit whining.
I'm looking at rebuilding my trailing arms, I watched Vtech's video on Youtube to learn the assembly process, I was impressed and thought maybe I'll get my arms rebuilt by Vtech Now I see this review and wonder if the Anonymous person replying is actually Vtech employee or the owner of Vtech?! Wow seriously?!
This only adds to the validity how Vtech actually treats people post sale.
Why not send his parts back with an explanation and pinpoint the problems with the arms? Telling the person to "quit whining" does not rectify the situation.
