So regreting using VOLUSION
They sell you the idea that you are getting a great deal and are able to help but it is all to get you to sign up for more, and more, and more. They are NOT set up to make anything easy.
They do not show up on lists of "select your service" so NOTHING is easy. I have wasted WEEKS trying to set things up. I had Google verified and then it went away, have tried every which way to configure and cannot.
Initially PAID to have them help me on the phone and then got call after call to spend more money to set up this and that. Spent days trying to get Paypal to work on my site.
Nearly cost me my business
So many things went poorly that my experience cant be unique. Go sign up for the free trial and within seconds!
you will get a Sales person chat started. Before you can even respond to the chat window - have your phone handy because a second salesperson will likely be calling you on the spot as well. I had a Shopify store and had some very specific technical challenges. The salesperson did some checking and gave me every assurance they had my needs covered.
(It was a bit off putting how much they talk-trashed their competition on the phone, but let that slide. I kinda liked the competitiveness but in hindsight it should have been the 2nd red flag). They signed me up for the Premium package (Despite me asking for the Basic) but they said that I can change it before the first 30 days. I cant decide it this should have been the 3rd red flag or if the fact they glossed over the "Free Trial" time should have been the 3rd one.
Still - gave it a go - I wanted my technical challenges addressed. Premium Support has limited hours and only sometimes did the 6 step automated router system even recognize my store ID. Still they had 24/7 chat which was heavily used by me (although did not justify having a "Premium" account). The chat support says "Most requests answered in under 30 minutes" however my experience was more averaging 3.5 hours.
The folks are SUPER nice, but be prepared to learn on-the-job with them (Google searches helped us both along on more than one occasion, especially pertaining to DNS where the original instructions provided and the back and forth on chat over days resulted in my company not having mail for almost 4 days). My account Rep and their support did try and tackle my technical challenges - however their solutions we mostly finding free code on the internet and trying to figure out how to implement. One rep was even proud of himself for hacking a JotForm so it no longer had as many "Powered by JotForm" pieces displayed on the form. Not ideal - but it was functional.
In the end - I became too much of a pain for Volusion in trying to get what was promised that they no longer wanted my business. The final correspondence from them was "Per our Terms of Service, which were in place prior to your hosting plan purchase and are still in place today: "We reserve the right to modify or suspend all or any part of Our Services for any reason, without notice, at any time." If you wish to pursue legal action against Volusion, your counsel can send any official legal correspondence to this email address, or to the address in our signature below." I admit I am not a typical customer. I had specific needs and assurances were given to woo me from Shopify.
Working with Volusion to learn and grow and actually live up to those assurances resulted in a 2+ month detour, tons of wasted time and money (besides lost revenue) and resulted in my returning to Shopify. Deal with Volusion at your own risk.

Program is a mess!!!! STAY AWAY FROM VOLUSION!
We have been with Volusion for quite some time now, and there have definitely been problems with the whole company. Over the past few months, it has gotten much worse.
Something has gone haywire with the program. Google shopping feeds not working, site maps a disaster, and so many other issues. It is ongoing and their customer service is pretty much non-existent and when you do finally get a response days later, they either didn't read your question / complaint as their answer makes no sense whatsoever, or they simply don't know what they're doing.
NOT WORTH IT AND TIME THEY PAY US!!! For those of you who have had serious issues, please post on Facebook with hashtag #VOLUSIONSUCKS as we are looking to gather everyone for a lawsuit against this terrible company.

TERRIBLE website provider - use them at your peril
Volusion total rip off pathetic operating system
Singed up 4 days ago for premium service with priority support and my store number is never acknowledged when I call in so I have to sit and wait for hours to get tech support. The supposed account specialist never contacted me to help me.
I spend dozens of hours setting up my products and my main category totally disappears with no way to recover it.
When you do get a live person they quickly shuttle you to an incompetent tutorial. The whole purpose is to force you into paying several thousand dollars for a custom built site done by their staff. out of frustration because their do it yourself site is so complex that no one could possibly build a store on it!!!!
Save yourself some grief and go elsewhere

Horrible company to get involved with dont fall for the hype !!!
We opened a volusion ecommerce store earlier this year, we had been selling on ebay for over 11 years successfully so we are not newbies at selling online, volusion sold us a bill of goods with theyre sales pitch of how if we host with them and use the shopping cart and credit card processing everything is protected and how much they fight for theyre sellers in case of chargebacks. Well in 3 months we had one sale, although our hits on the site were well over one thousand a month, what we found was that most of the hits were being produced by software within the site (volusions) itself. We made one sale after 3 months and after shipping the product we recieved a chargeback stating fraudulent use of the card, we sent the documents from volusions software showing that 3 forms of verification was done and the cc company returned the money until the case was resolved.
this is when the problems really started as the cc company returned the money to VOLUSION and not the bank account they took it from, VOLUSION then promptly closed my merchant account and told me it would be 180 DAYS until they would release it.
the credit card company then resolved the chargeback finding against me again and took the money again from my bank account..not from the people they returned it to..which was volusion..so im now out the 150.00 dollar cost of the product and 450.00 that has been taken from my bank account..
This has been one of the worst experiences of my selling career and i will never do business with them again and if your smart neither will you.

Terrible SEO and Design Teams
I have operated a volusion webstore for 5 years, after hiring their "design team" to redesign our website we totally lost all of our SEO rankings. Not only was the design team terrible and slow to respond, they will not correct the custom coding done by them which caused my site to be penalized by google.
After spending excessive amounts of time and money with this company I am perplexed as to why they wouldn't even try to help. They have completely lost their ability to prove themselves to me.
I own two stores through them and will be migrating very soon to Shopify. Buyers beware.

Ripoff and Misleading from Volusion
I am very angry customer For Volusion
This is what happen, one of your sales mislead me for first place, to tell me if you register for $99.00 we will build eCommerce website for your system, after 2-3 days keep calling and calling and emailing, I find out it is not true then 11/20/15 I cancel my remember ship and go different direction
since that time they never refund my $99.00 and they keep charging me payment we never agree with of $138.74 per month
I find out after they doing last 8 months
I need my money back and I never give up even if they cost me more than what I am looking for

SCAM ALERT - Volusion intentionally misleading
SCAM ALERT - Stay away from this bait-and-switch company that's riddled with hidden fees! Basically everything on the Volusion website and everything the sales people tell you is inaccurate and intentionally misleading.
Absolutely do NOT sign up for their Merchant Account - it looks like a feature of their monthly plan on their website, but it isn't! You're actually secretly signing up for a 3-YEAR contract that's at least $33.50 per month, with a $99 cancellation fee! The term length is not in the contract anywhere, it's on a separate page on their website that you will never find until you get the contract, which has a tiny link to the web page. Who actually reads contract terms?
No one, because you trust a company to be upfront about pertinent information. And that's EXACTLY what they're counting on. Don't pay them for a website that looks like garbage to start with, and definitely stay away from any contracts with them, even if they make it sound like it's a feature included in your monthly service.
They will intentionally mislead you. The sales reps know how to avoid giving direct answers, and their website is just as vague if not completely false.

I was offered a two week free trial for a free website. I never got anything.
I'm thinking free "so what" Found out they had taken $650 out of my Discover Card. Discover at this time is not going to get my money back?
Contact your credit card, State Attorney General, Texas Attorney General and Federal Trade Commission, that is what I did
