Purchased a 4 hour service

I purchase a four hour service from Vivacity and assumed I would received what I have always heard about these services, a neatly organized structured room. As I am a cancer patient I was really looking forward to getting this office organized. She spent four hours, show up spent her time stuffing stuff every where it is months later and I STILL can't find anything. There was absolutely no organization done. Not one bit. I called to complain and was advised that the woman was brand new. My comment was why send her then., Why would a responsible company send out a untrained employee to represent them.

I am filing a court claim next week against Ashleigh Ward as she has failed to provide me for a refund for the services I purchased. Does anyone else want to be part of this?

Vivacity/Organized by Design, Charlottesville, VA

would give Vivacity/Organized by Design negative stars if that were possible. I purchased a Living Social deal from Vivacity (formerly Ta Da and now Organized by Design) back in June and paid for an upgrade that was supposed to cover two years of services. I also paid for a gift for my then-pregnant daughter for two hours of organization. The baby is now six months old and my daughter still hasn't received the services I paid for. I actually received two visits from Ashleigh, the owner, and then there was an excuse (grandmother died, son broke his arm, strep, etc.) for every appointment after that. Phone calls are not returned. Email is not answered. I have spent a great deal of money and feel quite foolish. I have reported this to the Better Business Bureau and plan to file a small claim to get my money back if my credit card can not do so. If I could get in touch with other dissatisfied people who have posted here we might be able to sue together. I'm so disappointed and angry at the lack of responsibility from this company. I wonder if the name keeps changing so that irate customers can't track the owner down. Do not contract with this business, as you are unlikely to receive services from her. I wish I could get my money back but unless I contact the police I doubt that will happen. Update: No recourse with my credit card since it has been over 60 days since the charge was made. Interesting how she kept me strung along until that time period had passed. Probably just coincidence...

The company isn't irresponsible or disorganized, it is FRAUDULENT. Everyone was ripped off that gave the company money, and I have had a really difficult time getting law enforcement to follow through on doing something about it. She walked away with thousands and thousands of dollars.

Aya Dns

This is probably not a coincidence. If she receives too many fraud complaints, credit card companies will cut her off as a merchant.

Vivacity LLC is a fraud and scam

I have had the same experience as the other users. This company is fraudlent. I have contacted the BBB, Groupon, PayPal and the Internet White Collar Crimes organization who are all investigating this company and it's owner Ashleigh Ward. Recommend that you do the same. Ms. Ward has a lot of angry customers at the moment which are evidenced by the number of reviews floating around the internet. Recommend that you also contact your bank or credit card company if you paid for services thru them. They will also open a fraud investigation. The more people on this the better. Good Luck!

We hired Vivacity/Ashleigh for a year's cleaning and she never came to honor that contract, yet kept the $1299. Since then she's claimed to have gone out of business. She has lost in small claims court.

The Attorney General of VA would like to hear from anyone who has had problems. Below is the AG's contact information who I spoke with.

please reach out and give her your experience:

Hi Taken:

I plan to be at the court for this date, and wondered if you need anything from any of us, or if you think just a showing of bodies will be worthwhile. I have spoken to one of our detectives at Albemarle County Police and hope to follow up today with him.

It looks like Ward "took" you in May, 2011??

Aya Dns

I am unable to be at the court on Feb 5, however, I can (and would like to) forward additional evidence. As recently as January 22, 2013, I received the offer for prepaid cleaning services for up to 156 hours of cleaning services in 2013 -- $989 if paid in full or 2 payments of $550. This is well past the arrest date listed on the court website (I'm curious if she was held or if she was released on bail).

As of today, Ashleigh Ward is still accepting prepaid customers via email marketing and signing up new hourly customers on organized-by-design.info with no apparent intent on showing up. Since booking my appointment for organization services, which I purchased via a prepaid coupon on a deal site, her grandmother died (which she later referred to as as her great-grandmother, not her grandmother - both in writing), her son broke his arm, her son caught pneumonia, her son slammed his finger in the door, etc., on the day of each missed appointment.

Please message me your information and I will forward the offer.

I was aware of these issues with Ashleigh, as she was very upfront with me. I ended up purchasing this package that was for prepaid home organization (not cleaning service), and she has been in my home each week as planned.

I couldn't be more thrilled with her skills!

For the record, I do know for a fact that her son slammed his finger in the door, as we talked about that at one of our recent appointments.

I don' believe you and this is probably Ashleigh posting the comment

Ovida Ixp

As it turned out, I couldn't make it to court. Are you at liberty to share what happened?

Ovida Ixp

Here's an interesting side note: Vivacity changed to Organized by Design, and is now operating a business called Piper Interiors, all owned by Ashleigh Ward. I'm headed to small claims, and everyone else should do the same, along with reporting this person to your police department. She can't keep getting away with this scam.

As mentioned above, I'm happy to forward additional evidence of the continued scam via email. Please message me your information and I'll forward it right away so that it can be included as evidence against her.

Hi: Sorry I haven't replied to your comment. I am working with a Detective Keith Miller in Albemarle County Police Department, and have forwarded him all of my information about my dealings with Ashleigh. While she has contacted me--oddly enough, right after I called the Commonwealth Atty--and offered to make things right, I simply do not trust her, and find it puzzling that she is still sending out offers to people when she can't keep the appointments she already has.My name is Cindy, and you can send info to mspoots@***.com.

I'm a victim too! The BBB is already aware, but I am out for the money given in advance.

Vivacity Cleaning, Palmyra Va - Complete Scam

Updated by user Oct 18, 2012

Update

I did not buy this special through Groupon...I bought it through the Vivacity, so the refund should come from the company.  I did recently get an email from the owner saying I could be refunded....however, when I emailed twice and called no one responded back.

I assume the owner sent out refund emails is response to all the negative feedback and has no plans of actually following through. This is an awful company...and I am going to post a complaint the the Virginia State Consumer Affairs Dept.

Original review Sep 07, 2012
Vivacity is a complete scam!  The owner, Ashleigh Ward, is super nice, until she gets your money.  I paid for a 12 months of cleaning service, 20 hours each month. The owner assured me there would be no scheduling issues. Total I ended up only getting 14 hours of service in the month of August.  It was awful trying to make appointments, no one responded to telephone calls.  Twice I had appointments scheduled for cleaning and no one came. in Sept. I received an email stating I could not have 20 hours per month and would not be able to have someone come weekly.  When I asked for a refund for the remaining 11 months of service, the owner refused, saying I got $100 of "free" services!

I worked for Vivacity and you are very correct. I didn't like how unprofessional they was with their customers.

Whom pays very good for their service. I was her best cleaner , I quit because it seemed always last minute Every job she had whomever other worker couldn't fill in. But anyway, I am available anytime and am very reliable. I'm a hard worker, detail oriented , trustworthy, friendly, and trust worthy.

I have my own vehicle and have never not went to a job.

Please e mail me If you would think of having me work for you, for cleaning , organizing, run errands, cook, dog walking or anything! I am a young stay at home mom..

Does anyone know the outcome of Ashleigh Ward's court proceedings? I see from other posts that she might be starting other companies that offer similar services as Vivacity.

She scammed me also. I still need those services but I do not want to stumble upon another business of her again.

Anyone know for sure what she is up t :? o?

I worked for her for over a month and was never paid! She is a scam artist! :(

I worked for her for over a month on more than 10 cleaning assignments 4 organizing assignments and a dog sitting assignment for two weeks and was NEVER paid a DIME! I drove from Baltimore to as far as Virginia and everywhere in between to complete these jobs.

She never responded to any of my request via email or written letter. She owes me over $3000.00 in labor and gas reimbursement.

Purchases were made through Groupon, and those are to be refunded by Groupon, as we do not get those funds.

Any purchases made directly with us, can be refunded, if you send me your request.

Groupon will only make refunds in the form of a credit for and only if the request was made no later than 60 days after purchase. Since you're keeping up the rescheduling act as long as you are, it's now money down the drain.

To other victims: Please report (as I have) to Groupon that Vivacity LLC, Organized by Design, Piper Interiors and Piper Dot should be considered a scam. Also inform them that Ashleigh Ward was arrested in August, 2012 and is facing felony charges for embezzlement - the court date is on Feb 5 at 9am the Albemarle County Court.

Hopefully this will encourage the deal sites to make exceptions on the 60 day policy, since many of her deal site offers were made after the arrest date. Also report this to the police and the Virginia State Office of Consumer Affairs so that it will be included as additional evidence in court.

I would suggest you request assistance from the Virginia State Office of Consumer Affairs (Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services).

Have you been able to get your money back from her? I'm having the same problem with them and am thinking I'm going to have to take her to small claims.
