Death
- - Ciprofloxacin 500mg BID for UTIs was followed by jaw grinding.
- - Primidone prescribed; second UTI with Ciprofloxacin led to seizure and death.
My father had Parkinson's Disease and caught a UTI, so Dr. Tuckett prescribed Ciprofloxacin 500mg twice daily.
After he completed his treatment, he started grinding his teeth and bobbing his head. I sent a video to his RN at Gentiva Hospice, and she showed it to Dr. Tuckett. As a result, Tuckett prescribed him Primidone, which had worse side effects.
In June my father caught another UTI, and Dr. Tuckett again prescribed Ciprofloxacin. My father had a major seizure and died, but the Gentiva nurse listed cause of death as Parkinson's.
I would never recommend this doctor to care for elderly persons - I believe she is negligent. My family is devastated.
