Horrible Horrible Company

Complete piece of dog *** company. STAY FAR FAR AWAY.

I helped my 87 year old mother apply for a birth certificate on January 4th, 2024. She had to go through an online notary which costs even more money, and she didn't need to do it. Nothing came in for 6 weeks and we started calling not only vitalrecordsonline, but also The New York Department of Health and were getting the run around from both. We asked several times for a refund as nothing was being delivered and vitalrecordsonline stated it was in New York's hands since 1/5/2024.

New York stated they hadn't received anything. Agent after agent gave us the runaround. After 3 months, I finally got involved on 4/16/2024 and vitalrecordsonline informed me that New York cashed the check on 4/6/2024 and that they would not be able to provide a refund. Emailed a supervisor imploring him to review all the phone calls and was denied a refund.

The certificate came around 4/20/2024. The State Health Department said that vitalrecordsonline has a low priority on their list.

If you want good result use Vitalchek.com. Whatever you do, do not use this company, they will take advantage of you.

$59 For An Envelope & the Same Application From The Website

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

One star is too high. I paid $59 for a certified copy of my birth certificate and they advertise as providing these vital documents.

I filled out the application and gave all of my identifying information and I was to wait for my info and identity to be verified before I would receive my records. I get an email the next day that says my information has been verified and that an APPLICATION is on the way. I called them and got the run around for about 20 minutes, and finally, I got someone on the phone who told me that the wording in the email is for security purposes....o--kay? Two days later I get my envelope, open it and it is a copy of the application that I filled out with Vital Records Online and a sheet informing me that I would have to send the application with a money order to the Vital Records Office that coordinates with my city/state of birth.

So...$59 for an envelope and a piece of paper that I could have downloaded for free,.

If I knew this was what would happen, I would've downloaded the application, made copies of my gov't identification(s), got a money order and mailed it in myself, for a fraction of the price. Vital Records Online claims to be quick and easier and their name is very misleading as well.

Vital Records Online Response

Dear Shanetra, We apologize for your experience. Our company's goal is to assist you in preparing your request by making sure you fill the rights form, send them to the correct office and get all the support needed while doing so, for your application to be successful the first time.

Our fee is for that extra service and assistance. Our website clearly states: "You may get your vital records without preparation fees by going to your local health department or by searching for the right website online. However, going there or finding the right website is a painful process. Here are just a few reasons why so many people choose to use our services." That being said, we took a look at your record, and it shows that your purchase was refunded.

We hope this solved your issue with our service. Best regards, VitalRecordsOnline.Com Customer Service Team
