Aides are lazy and on the phone all the time.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Our regular aide is on leave the replacement is a horror show.

She arrives three hours past the scheduled time so the medications and patient care suffers greatly.

She did take care of my dad but did nothing else. Did not take care of the trash, bathroom or ever made his bed.

On the phone the entire time. When you say something they get all argumentative. *** you are there to take are of a patient. If you don't like your job, do something else.

Her excuse is, she lives in Brooklyn, SO?? That's a subway ride away.

Horrible

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Unprofessional, showing up whenever they please, consistently late without warning. We called multiple times to complain and didn't hear back.

They are understaffed and never sent us the help we were eligible for through our insurance.

Had to spend hours on the phone that could have been spent with our dying loved one. The nurses and aides that were sent were kind, but not the help we desperately needed.

They have no compassion for their members

They authorize agencies who have an experienced staff member and patient they send Patience in Home health dont understand the electric use of a Hoyer lift which is a patient lift used to get the patient in and out of bed they leave a lot of the responsibility on the patient, but they are the one authorizing the agencies to the agreement in which the agency says they can provide service. They dont always match what they say on their contract.

It is unfair to me as a patient to have to stay stuck in the bed because, not not properly. Aid does not know how to use the lift. I should not have to go through vendor to vendor.

They should ask the patient what they want for her services. They should not be doing what they want in regards to the patient you should have multiple times when your equipment is broken .

What a Joke!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I got the job through a recruiter, her name was Haydee Esperanza (Prime Staffing LLC). The training was good and so was the middle of me working there.

Most of the patient's or their family members were very rude and nasty. I was almost told I was dumb by one patient and I needed to clean the wax out my ears because I said one number from her year of birth wrong. Although I had some nice and respectful ones too. The Nurses and Intake coordinators were barely reachable and the patients hated that, and that they never got a call back so they lashed it out on us (Call Center).

The patients treat you as if you're nobody, the way they talk to you and I was Verbally abused working there. I refuse to let low lives who need round the clock assistance talk to me like that. Working with Nurses and Doctors outside of VNSNY was annoying too, they talking to me like they *** don't stink and they are better than someone, some not all. There was a girl named Sasha who had the same title but acted as if she was my supervisor, *** was really *** annoying, every *** minute, can you put yourself in training?

as if she is perfect, I asked her a question and the dumb *** couldn't even answer it. The supervisor kept criticizing me and accusing me of *** I didn't do, and this girl was always messing some *** up. I told Haydee Esperanza (Prime Staffing LLC) that I wanted to leave my contract. She said " as i said multiple times, the contract can be renewed".

This *** talks to you as if you're dumb, *** i know what the *** you said *** She's mad because I wanted out!. She is money hungry and only cares about herself, she is a *** and worthless *** she even tried to bribe me to stay there, how professional!. This isn't a good job and it's definitely not worth $18 an H/R.

I'm not going to wait 6- 9 months for a $4 wage increase. I refuse to let anyone talk to me like that or make threats over the phone, I left that job classy.

Paying out of pocket when insurance does not pay

Medicare who is in contract with VSNY referred me to you. Ms.

Devoria Sicari, who is currently a consumer and a long term care resident at the Riverside Rehabilitation Center and with whom you have a relationship with, is currently quarantined on the 11th floor since May 19th. She will be returning to her permanent home on the 4th floor on June 4th if she is tested negative twice within 24 hours. Her bed is currently not occupied and is waiting for her to return.

According to the protocol, there is a 2 week period that the insurance will pay for an empty bed and then after that, it will be made available to a new resident.

I would like to ensure that Ms. Sicari returns to the 4th floor since changes affect her dementia and her social-emotional well-being.

In the event that she receives a positive test although asymptomatic which will require her to continue in isolation for another week, Can I pay for the daily expenses of keeping the bed?

And service. I have been lied to outright over and over again.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Had them for my mom covered by medicare. They dont return calls they make up stories.

I had to appeal when they wanted to cancel service. The appeal was won. They still did not send home aid. Wanted to reduce hours from the get go.

The home aids are pretty good.

But the people in charge are the worst. Thinking about calling the local newspaper and having a talk to someone about them, or maybe a malpractice attorney

Unreliable and inefficient

My husband had lung cancer surgery at Sloan Kettering hospital on December 27, 2018. He was discharged on January 8, 2019. A nurse came on Thursday January 10,2019 to evaluate him and check his chest tube incision. She informed us a nurse would come on Sunday January 13, 2019. No one showed or called to say they weren't coming. Monday, January 14,2019 no one showed or called again.

Then a physical therapist was supposed to come on Monday January 14, 2019 again no one showed or called.

I finally called to complain and of course they called back to apologize and wanted to send someone at 6:00 pm. We told them we didn't want any of their services.

I would never use visiting nurse service of New York, they are totally unreliable.

Horrible company

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Vnsny is a totally unprofessional, irresponsible and dangerous elder care company. They left my mom at 93 without needed equipment, supplies and medications numerous times- A total nightmare for the family to endure and must be very careful dealing with this company.

Unreliable, poor communicators

Over the last seven weeks, home care aides have shown up 50% of scheduled times. No calls, no explanation.

VNS is nearly impossible to reach via phone, and will NOT call you back when they claim they will - or at all.

I'm sure they're billing Medicare in full for these services that they aren't delivering.

THEY ARE TERRIBLE AND ADS ARE WAY OVERRATED

VNSNY is highly overrated and I should not have paid attention to their TV ads. I have been waiting two weeks and have not seen anyone from PT or OT yet!

They keep sending Nurses to the wrong Address, all blaming the screwups on their new computer system. Plus, most of the Nurses don’t call to make plans of what days and times they will arrive and when they do, they often do not meet the schedules.

Two of the Nurses were great, one was so bad that she almost injured me!

Plus, every time I call, I spend from 10-30 minutes on hold.

Finally, they never sent supplies and I have been forced to purchase medical supplies on Amazon!

Follow up to that nurse didn’t show up when she was supposed to and never bothered to call.

Customer service had no explanation after 6 calls. Wound left unchanged

Don't use Visiting Nurse Services!

My paralyzed sister was denied nighttime health aid care. She needs to be moved and changed every couple of hours but these bastards expect my 82 year old mom to get up 4-5× every night with her heart problems.

Not good

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I did not feel that they took good care of my Father. He had a bad pressure sore, they were changing the bandages without any orders so had no idea how to treat it.

I feel this contributed to the wound worsening. They advised us to move him to Hospice House, they assured us he would come home. When he left, he was responsive, talking and even eating a little.

When they arrived they made my Mom wait outside the room, he never woke up or spoke again. They had him on Morphine and just kept increasing the dosing - my Father died within 5 days of being admitted to Hospice House

Performance Failure Provision of Post-Op Health Services

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The Visiting Nurse Service of New York(VNSNY) failed to provide me with timely, high quality, residential post-operation Nursing, Physical Therapy, and Personal Healthcare Assistant Services during the period 21 December 2014-10 January 2015 per the earlier Agreement which was based on complying with the instructions of my Surgeon. VNSNY was supposed to meet with me(the patient) at the Hospital after surgery but prior to discharge to establish a services delivery schedule that would begin immediately upon return to my residence. It was important to avoid lapses in post-surgery patient monitoring. VNSNY however did not show up for this planned scheduling meeting with me at the Hospital.

The VNSNY Nurse first met with me at my residence TWO DAYS after my Hospital discharge. My surgery was major, I was non-ambulatory, taking strong pain killer medication, and I was a senior citizen then living alone. No check of my health condition was made however by VNSNY during the first two days after hospital discharge. The VNSNY Personal Healthcare Assistant first showed up at my residence FIVE DAYS after my hospital discharge. Since I was non-ambulatory I was unable during this FIVE DAY period to perform a number of daily life support tasks.

I experienced many other problems with VNSNY. The perfunctory nurse examinations missed detecting several health issues. A significant numer of scheduled appointments for the respective services were cancelled/rescheduled by VNSNY. There were several cases where the VNSNY service person simply did not show up for their scheduled appointments without even calling me beforehand. The medical and administrative information provided by VNSNY was inadequate and I had to call(extensively) my Surgeon's office and my Health Insurance provider to answr questions about my case and treatment.

VNSNY at one point actually cancelled all my services (without even telling me beforehand) because they erroneously determined that my health insurance had expired. I was/am a 30 year client in good standing of the same Health Insurance provider and had to call them regarding the VNSNY coverage cancellation claim. My Health Insurance provider then advised VNSNY of their error and my services were restored after a lapse of time. My Health Insurance provider then told me directly that they had assigned both a case manager and one of their staff nurses to frequently monitor my VNSNY treatment activities and that I would be contacted regularly by these two individuals. These contacts regularly occurred and represented further demands on my time resulting from the underlying VNSNY performance failures.

I made many attempts to resolve these problems with VNSNY as they were occurring. These attempts were uniformly unsuccessful and I found VNSNY extremely difficult to deal with. There were extremely long telephone wait/hold times and I was unable to find any VNSNY staff that were knowledgeable, willing to become involved with the problems, and empowered to solve the problems. I have since filed many formal complaints with the chairman of VNSNY, the president, two Senior Vice Presidents and a vice president. My formal written complaints have however been ignored to date.

The Visiting Nurse Service of New York as of 23 September continues to ignore/refuse to respond in any way to either my original complaint(filed in February 2015) or to my on-going current written requests for a response sent to a number of their senior executives and to members of their Board of Directors.

Visiting Nurse Service Of New York - Nurse Review from New York, New York

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I don't want to say my name but I am fourteen years old and I am making this about 30 minutes after my mother left crying because the nurse that is supposed to be there and help my grandmother left because she doesn't get paid after 9pm, even though she is supposed to help at least 3 times a night. Why do I know all of this?

I know this because starting at 11:30 pm my mother was talking to the nurse on the phone after my grandfather gave her the phone because she refused to wake up after he asked to help my grandmother. My mom was on hold with the EMERGENCY phone number and didn't get off of hold for an hour. Its 1:30 am and my mom was basically forced to leave me and my dog alone in the middle of the night. My mother had a meltdown because of the poor care you guys gave.

I found this website between 2 articles about lawsuits so I see I am not the only one. I didn't want to post anything about this but shortly after I thought that my mother cried again, all of this because one of the aid that left in the night because she was not paid to do her job past 9pm. This isn't even the first time with problems.

I don't want a reply to this and i'm not coming back on here. I want this to be herd by anyone that sees it.
