Don't fall for it

I was visited by a rep just before Christmas after an initial telephone conversation with a local eating establishment who are putting together brochures. I was told it was an advert for two year, no payment other than the deposit would be taken until January 2013 and nothing then until then the advert had been approved.

Within 3 weeks I had nearly £300 taken from my account. I had no idea that I would also have to part with all £600 within 3 months, I'm a small business and can ill afford it so called them to arrange smaller payments. I wanted to cancel the contract but have been told I they will not. No cooling off period with this agreement and always read the fine print.

It's the most expensive advertising I have ever taken out and as a result I will not take out paid advertising again.

Keep away from these people! Oh and still no brochure seen.

Limestone Rip OFF Merchants

Limestone Brochures took over £300 from me in 2 installments from February 2012, then March, wanted paying in april and May which I stopped. they promised that my feature would be placed in a brochure and would then be displayed in a facility where it would be viewed by lots of my target audience in March run upto the Event day in April 21st.

Not one brochure has ever been displayed until July 2012 now they want there money and passed my company on to a debt collection Im so angry and need to know where I stand legally.

Limestone tell me that it is not their fault. I don't really care who is at fault...I just want my money back. It has been over a 6 months from my first payment was taken and as a Very small company I don't have that kind of money to waste and wanted a refund. It makes me so angry that they can do this to me and all the others who are also waiting for their advert to be seen.

Can anyone help me take this poor company on please. Or advise me.

I have also been conned by Limestone. Came round and told me price would be £400 + vat over the two years, but when first instalment came out it was for double the amount i was expecting.

Called them and was told it was £400 PER YEAR not for the two. Eventually agreed to do it at £400 for the year. Not please but didnt want it going to debt collector.

That was three monnths ago and still not seen a brouchure, so they have had three instalments of me for no advertising. How are firms like this allowed to get a way with it

Hi,

I took out an ad with this company. they told me it would be £5 a week plus vat. so i thought that was a good deal and took it out.

The first installment was £156 (which i was told was a deposit).

A month later another £156 was taken out then the following month another £156. When i re read the contract it said they took out the first year and half second year installment.

So i accepted this although the rep didn't inform me of this. Now today i check my account and they took out a whooping £270 (how is that feasible???) luckily i didn't have enough money in my account.

So i sent them a nasty email, and if they continue i will take legal action. I've cancelled my direct debit. I've seen the ad and wasn't overly impressed. if they carry on i will bring them DOWN.

Anyone thought of setting up a facebook group about them. i've had so many problems with advertisers i will NEVER take out another one !!.

Avoid Limestone in Manchester like the plague. They have £250 for advertising I havent had done. For the Love of God don't sign anything, its a two year tie in and they charge for design even when you've done the artwork yourself.

Stay away from them

This company badgered me for weeks over the phone about advertising then they claimed to represent a local company and asked if i wanted to advertise with them in a brochure they were doing.

Their sales man called, 'because he was in the area' and showed me a brochure and told me i also got for my money an 'e-brochure' and a mention on a flyer which was part of the package!

He insisted on credit card details their and then and was off like a shot once he got them! Weeks later and after some art work, I asked the girl about the 'flyer' and she asked what flyer!

To keep it short, he told me one thing to get my signature/card details and now the company are telling me another! I consider this to be dishonest, and refused to deal with them, at first i was hit with a barrage of phone calls and now Limestone will not even answer my emails or talk to me, because i have asked for my money back.

Looking at all of the other mail on this company, i have also found out a lot of other things which limestone did not tell me about prior to signing up!

Limestone Brochures Kept my Money

Notwhistanding my previous complaint about this company, despite my efforts to get in touch with them, it would appear they do not want to answer any of my emails?

Limestone Brochures, are still holding 249.60 GBP of my money and asume that they can just slink away into the back ground and forget about it? This very behaviour itself should be a warning to anyone who is thinking of teaming up with them or passing across any monies.

It brings a whole new meaning to the saying 'take your money and run' they are the ones who promised me a package and they are the ones who changed the deal after payment ! Common sense says they should offer me a refund if im not happy (which i am not) there is a word called 'integrity' I dont think limestone know the meaning of!!!!!!!

Yep, I've been stiffed by Limestone. They are holding £250 of my hard earned cash for an advertisement that hasn't even been done.

Avoid at all costs and don't sign the contract. It's an automatic tie in for two years.

The Cancellation of contracts made in the consumers home or place of work etc Regulations 2008 came into force in October 2008 and apply to contracts between consumers and suppliers of goods and services to consumers by traders who then visit.

Limestone Brochures that means you are the trader and I am a self employed sole trader and you came to my home.

Limestone Brochures, the law states that:

'It is a criminal offence not to supply your customer with a written notice of their rights to cancellation in an appropriate format'

Limestone Brochures, it also states:

'If you do not give your customer notice of right to cancellation, then the contract between you becomes unenforceable in law!'

:cry

Limestone Brochures pay back what you owe!

You cannot expect people to abide by your contracts if you wont abide by the same english laws you choose to refer to and hide behind when trying to enforce a contract.

That word hypocrites come to mind again?

The web site have asked me to provide an update on my situation with Limestone Brochures!

I can tell you that they still hold my 249.60 and are still ignoring my emails. When you consider the the ammount of calls i had to endure from them in the first instant, its quite clear that limestone brochures intend to blank me!

Legal advice is that small claims court is the way to go and i am looking into this as i write. I am sure limestone brochures think if they stick their heads in the sand it will all blow over?

All i would venture to say, is that anyone reading the articals about limestone brochures on this web site would should be 'ALARMED' by what has been happening.

I wish i had seen this web site sooner a little information in this case would have saved a lot of problems and i would have avoided limestone brochures like the plague!

Well limestone brochures! When do you think you might like to fullfill your obligations in this matter then.

You cold called me on a Telephone Preference Number, which is a breach of the telecom regulations!

You pestered me for weeks on end to take out advertising!

Your staff claimed to be phoning from one of my suppliers, which they have since refuted, and confirmed you did not! But that you were working on a project for them! There is a difference, the first is a complete lie!

Your salesman either did not know what he was saying to me in his sales pitch or he completely and deliberately mislead me about the flyer which after all was his pitch to me!

One of your staff told me he denied making the statement to me! Only days later, another of your customer service team told me he had accepted the conversation did take place about the flyer!

The same flyer you have refused to provide in the brochure you were producing as was the agreement!

Limestone brochures, there are too many acts of betrayal and mis-leading in what has happened from your end!

The right thing to do is to recognise you have mislead a potential customer however minor YOU may feel it was.

Thank god for web sites like this one!

Limestone Brochures screwed me for over £600

Limestone Brochures took over £600 from me in four installments from March 2011, then April, May and August. they promised that my feature would be placed in a brochure and would then be displayed in a facility where it would be viewed by lots of my target audience.

Not one brochure has ever been displayed. Apparently the Soft Play facility are disputing the adverts for some reason or another.

Updated by user Jan 16, 2012

HI GUYS I AM TRYING TO REMOVE THIS ADVERT, MY ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED. THE LIMESTONE BROCHURES HAS CONTACTED ME, APOLOGISED TO ME AND HAS GIVEN ME A GOOD GESTURE, AND HAS PROMISED ME THAT THE ADVERT FOR MY COMPANY WILL BE PRINTED SOON.

IT IS A GOOD COMPANY BUT BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO WORK WITH OTHER COMPANIES IT HAS DELAYED THERE PROCESS SO I CAN UNDERSTAND FROM THERE POINT OF VIEW. I AM TRYING TO REMOVE THE COMMENT I PUT BUT DONT KNOW HOW TO DO IT.

Hello, in regards to the company Limestone Brochures I have experienced the same thing. Paid the money but nothing has come from it.

I have been trying to get hold of Limestone brochures but every number I come across is incorrect or rings out. For those who have successfully got in touch with them could you advise the number please.

Guest

My partner has a small business and these scammers have realy screwed her over. money out nothing they promised in.

There are several companies in the Limestone gang all owned by on person three of which have been named by previous posters.

Call some of the tesimonials on their website most of the links don't work and those I have called are in a similar position.

My partners ad was supposed to be going in a local mag - never happened. It's worth taking legal advice.

Hi Everyone. My small business has been stung for £500 and it has caused me a great deal of worry.

The contract is a nightmare and you're tied in forever if you don't cancel.

So far I've seen nothing of what they tell me is getting printed. Stitched up like a kipper.

I just got caught out by limestone in june 2012. They kept pestering me with calls and then turned up on my doorstep.

They promised me an add in a brochure, an E-brochure and a flyer (anyone advertising in the brochure was to get a mention on the flyer) only after they took 249.60 and did a little art work did it materialise that they were not doing a 'flyer' at all!

They kept pestering me with phone calls demmanding my contract be kept too! Now it aoppears that limestone wont even talk to me and have ignored all of my emails requesting a refund.

Essentially their sales people said one thing to get my card details and then the company actually would only deliver on the brochure and e-brochure!

Ongoing!

Guest

They have taken £834 from my bank account which was supposed to be £24 per month. instead lots of £180 were taken by variable direct debits. Unfortunately I also paid a large deposit which I still cannot get back. This was in FEB 2012 it is June and no sight of any brochure. They send you only your own artwork to proof not whole brochure so you do not realise that they have taken all your money and you have no way of finding other companies supposed to be in the brochure.

I spoke to a gentleman today from a hairdressing salon that had £1200 taken from his credit card when his agreement was for £300

Avoid at all costs, not professional at all.

Guest

My partner entered into a contract with them 3 years ago, spent 2 years trying to get out of it as the venue for where the brochures were supposed to displayed never did. This was despite many contacts with both limestone and them. limestone did not care and wouldn't release us from the contract quoting the rolling period term.

In the end cancelled the bank card they had the details for and told them that I would be happy to see them in court as I felt their contract was unfair and they were in breach of it anyway - Never heard from them again!!!!

Be wary of any company that wont set up a direct debit but wants card details to take payments monthly from as the only way to cancel this is by cancelling your card.

Guest

Be aware that Limestone contracts are ongoing unless cancelled within 30 days of the annual contract renewal date.

I had to pay another £600 because of this clause... If you signed on 18/08/2011 then you will be liable for the 3rd year (yes, 3rd year!) on 18/08/2012 unless you cancel before 18/07/2012... If you don't cancel then you will be liable for fees every year until you die!

Gail Nmb

Been let down badly by Limestone Brochures, based in Preston. Avoid this company at all costs.
