Verified Reviewer |The unnecessary and damaging complimentary inspection
A vehicle new to me needed an emissions inspection; VA Tire in Gainesville, VA is/was my usual go-to for inspections. The inspector came to the waiting area with my cabin filter that I had just installed a week before, telling me it was dirty and needed to be replaced.
I took the filter and banged it on the curb, and behold, it was clean. I asked him to reinstall it and continue. Of course, at the end, one is given an Emissions certificate for DMV which I proceeded to put into the glove box. When I opened it, the door simply dropped (it is a "soft-open" glove box behind which the filter lives).
I pulled to the bay door and told the mechanic about it, and he began to push back saying it simply worked like that. I asked, "Then why is there an unattached damper in the glove box?" Again, he said that it just works that way. I gave up, but only long enough to go home (three miles) and inspect the glove box and mounting area. Sure enough, the upper pin on the mounting structure was broken.
I returned to the store and spoke with the manager, Sam.
I explained the situation and requested that they repair it, to which he agreed.
More than a month later, I called: they had lost my claim paperwork and sent the part back. After clarifying the situation, they'd order another one.
They called a couple of weeks later and said the part has come in. When I went to inspect it, it was the glove box door, not the mounding structure. By this time, I was becoming annoyed that, 1) no one had actually LOOKED at the damaged part (color: beige), and 2) made any notes about its function or extent of damage.
The whole thing began on April 1st, 2025.
They called to say they had gotten the part, but I said I'd like to see it, to which they agreed. It was BLACK, not BEIGE. By this time I was beyond frustrated - it was now July, over three months since the original claim. The manager told me he had ordered the part according to the VIN, but if so why was it not the correct color?
That was his only defense, so again I pressed him as to why no one had looked it and made a note of the color? He again went back to the VIN explanation. He tried to order another part but couldn't connect; he'd try again later.
The gasket finally blew: I said for them to just forget it - "I'm DONE!" I was not going to listen to another excuse for not having anyone responsible or observant enough to properly document the part. (For the record, I was in aerospace since 1980 and retired as an aerospace quality engineer.
Not much gets past me...)
Previously unreported things occurred in the past, such as cross-threaded lugs after a safety inspection, unreported because they're difficult to prove after a year of driving and home tire rotations.
Little things like that, and my above diatribe, cause one to lose confidence in a trusted and respected business. I have not decided whether I will go back, but there are plenty of shops around Gainesville, We'll see how long it takes me to cool down and do research on other facilities in the area, including talking to neighbors.

Verified Reviewer |Left stranded
I am sitting in the Virginia Tire and Auto with a flat tire. They refused to help me.
I had to call another repair company to fix my tire in the parking lot of Virginia Tire and Auto. Way to step up and show what kind of business you really are. I will definitely never come back here for no help.
Wow! Still in awe of how they just left me to fend for myself in their parking lot with a flat tire.

Overselling and Accountability
I have dropped off my car for 2 rare Tire Replacement along with Wheel Alignment on 03/01/2024. Actually, i went for only one tire first and they upsell for two rare tires for better wheel alignement.
The tires were replaced and wheel alignment was done and gave the vechile back on same day. I started noticing the air was slowly going down on the passengers side rare tire from next day, which is new tire that was installed in 03/01/2024. I took the car back to the VA tires in Broadlands and they gave me appointment for Saturday, 3/9/2024 and filled the air and send it could be a value issue and sent me back. I showed up with my car again on Saturday, 3/9/2024 at scheduled time and now they are saying that this new installed tire has to be replaced with another new tire again.
I am really really upset about this, how can a new tire can go bad when the air never went down more than 25 psi. I requested to replace the time as it should be within the manufacting warrently and they simple rejected.
I know that I didn't drive the car much after the new tire and it was all in ashburn area where we have the perfect roads, I seriously suspect that either a tire was defective or something went wrong while installation but they didn't want to accept and asking me to pay again for new tire. I have been a VA Tire & Auto customer for more than 10 years with multiple vehicles servicing every year, I didn't expect this low service, overselling and not taking accountability.

Verified ReviewerUneducated staff of VATyre charged me 75$ for a Quote of a wheel ( FRAUD)
Yesterday July 20th I came to VATyre to get my Toyota 2011 Wheel get replace and get an alignment. I explain everything that my wheel is bend and I need to replace that and then need a alignment on top of it, because around six months back I get the wheel alignment test in manassas using a Groupon coupon and they recommended to replace the wheel before alignment. And so I came to Vatyre South riding, because that is my first choice to service my vehicle and so I can replace wheel and also an alignment. This is the thing I explained to ask for quote. But the front desk person said he cant give the quote of wheel unless he physically check my car and asked to drop my car, which I did. And later in a day he charged me 75$ to give me the quote for the problem which I already explained him. I visit vatyre to resolve my problem and not to repeat the story that I already told him to fix. Now its quiet understood that alignment cant be done if the rim is already bend and so to resolve the problem, first wheel needs to be changed which I ask him. Now it is just a 2 min job to give me the quote of the wheel so that I decide to get it replaced and get my wheel alignment on top of it. But for this 2 min job to give me the quote of wheel he charged me 75$, which is total ***
Seems like office staff is not educated to do the right thing. I need to post on google to save other people from such kind of fraud and also to let my other friends not to be befooled by such uneducated staff, who doesnt listen the problem of the customer and charge for giving the quote and not resolving the issue.
I already know my Wheel is bend which I told him first thing, I already know my tyre got damaged because of wheel bend and it needs to be replaced and alignment cant be done without wheel to be replaced, and I told him the same story, but its very upset that office staff charged me 75$ to repeat my story to me.
I am not sure if this is a fraud by mistake or intentional, but this is not the way to earn the trust and business of the customer.

Get Inspection Here at Your Own Risk!
I had an older car, in good working order, inspected at Virginia Tire. What a mistake!
My car was failed, but not to worry--for only $1,100 they could make it pass! While nothing was really wrong with the vehicle, I had to make the repairs which were now "of record" on the VA inspection system. I went elsewhere to have the work, the unnecessary work, done but for $650 by AAA.
Virginia Tire uses the inspection service to keep their work bays full. This is not a trustworthy operation so please go elsewhere.
Don't have your car inspected at the Gainsville, Va location
My truck failed inspection for a nail in the tire. The nail was in the tread and not causing an air leak.
I waited in line for over one and a half hours and then another forty-five minutes while my truck was "Inspected". I also noted that the employee was sitting in my vehicle running the air conditioning during the forty-five minutes that I was sitting around waiting for him to finish. I asked them to fix the tire and was told that I would have to wait another three to four hours since they were busy. Busy, really.
How long does it take to pull out a nail and put a plug in while it was on the lift. Steer away from this store and this company.

BEWARE of FRAUD - VA Tire and Auto of Broadlands
BEWARE! BEWARE!
BEWARE! These guys are CROOKED! Bought a used car recently, had the dealership go over it and my own mechanic, to check it head to toe. It was performing perfectly.
Took the car in to Virginia Tire & Auto of Broadlands for a simple emissions inspection and was told that the car flunked because of the check engine light being on. I told the rep that there was no check engine light when I took the car in. He said that he contacted me because there would be additional charges to run a diagnostic and to repair whatever was wrong with the car. I told him that this smells fishy, and picked up the car and took it to a trusted mechanic, who ran the check engine light code and diagnosed that someone at Virginia Tire & Auto had loosened the band clamp on the air-flow intake, which caused the mass air flow sensor to put check engine light on.
He told me this is a very common FRAUD TECHNIQUE. He tightened the band clamp and cleared the code. He checked everything on the car for several hours, and there is nothing at all wrong with it. I even took it to a competing inspection station and it was cleared for emissions, NO PROBLEM!
This fraud perpetrated by inspector ROOZBEHAN, ROOZBEH, or someone else at Virginia Tire & Auto not only cost me the $28.00 emissions fee TWICE, but also expenses for the time and efforts of a reputable mechanic, and the 150 miles I had to put on the car to get this all done.
WE SHOULD ALL BE OUTRAGED THAT THESE GUYS WILL STOOP THIS LOW JUST TO MAKE EXTRA MONEY ON UNNECESSARY REPAIRS. I see several others who have claimed they tried to get them to do hundreds of dollars of unnecessary repairs to their vehicles during safety inspections too!
