Mi madre adquirió un tiempo compartido en Villa del Palmar en Cancún en agosto del 2014. Después de pagar miles de dólares, ella no gozó de ningún beneficio, porque el sistema ha sido deliberadamente creado de manera que sea tan confuso cómo es posible.

Nada de lo que se le prometió era verdad, intentó de mil maneras llegar a un acuerdo, pero nada resultaba de provecho para ella, mi madre es una persona mayor y cada vez la veía más preocupada, yo decidí ayudarla *** la situación, esta gente de verdad es abusiva y sin corazón, son unos expertos en el engaño. Cansadas y después de varios intentos de ver que no nos iban a ayudar y solo querían darnos largas, contratamos a Mexican Timeshare Solutions una empresa que se dedica a cancelar tiempos compartidos.

Mi mamá no quería contratar a nadie porque decía que todos son iguales y solo querían quitarle más dinero. Así que yo me contacté *** ellos y me dieron una consulta gratis, donde me dijeron cuales eran las posibilidades de mi mamá, todo me sonó muy convincente, leímos detenidamente el contrato y vimos que estuviera por escrito que si no cancelaban la membresía de mi mamá no se les iba a pagar ni un centavo, ya solo tuvimos que esperar hasta que un día nos contactaron y nos dijeron que ya estaba todo listo, ya sin tener que lidiar *** la gente de villa del palmar, fue un gran alivio para mi mamá y para mi verla por fin tranquila.

My husband and I had to stay at Villa Del Palmar Cancun Dec 1-8 as we had to fulfill an obligation to stay a week ((free week) which actually cost $940 USD) in order to get our 10 week vacation package that we had purchased in Dec/14. (Regrettably). We had to go through the 90 minute presentation again and found out then that our "10 week vacation package" is at the bottom of the pile, that we get last dibs on any vacation week and therefore likely very difficult to use to get a satisfactory vacation. We were encouraged to upgrade to the "Elite" status for a mere $150K or some rediculous amount. They must think all gringos have great amounts of disposable cash!

We were offered a 2for1 massage package. The price for that was $190USD. That would be about $250CDN. Can you imagine ever paying that much for a massage?? And it would probably be a lame tourist massage at that.

Well it is the most boring resort ever. There is nothing happening EVER.

We met another couple that paid the same price as us but were given the all inclusive package. They were not impressed with the food or drinks however and agreed that it is soooo boring. They are consistently showing new couples around the resort, which is beautiful, but that's all it's got going for it. There is no ambiance, no character. It just looks good to suck other people into buying a timeshare. It has the pricing of a high end resort but nothing to back that up.

We told the concierge and check out desk person when we left how dissapointed we were and they didn't appear to care. The check out man actually had a smirk on his face as though he enjoyed hearing that they had succeeded in ripping off another gringo.

The presenter of the 90 min presentation, Juan I think (they don't wear name tags) encouraged us to please tell all our friends to keep travelling to Mexico as it was still safe. But I'm thinking if Mexico wants tourists to keep coming they should think about NOT ripping us off anymore.
