My name is Michelle Ritter, I am the owner of Seven Towers Directional Drilling, LLC based out of Boise, Idaho. 3 months ago, I purchased a used 1999 24x40A.
After being told by the sales rep that it was the perfect start up drill well that couldn't have been furthest from the truth.. Upon taking possession of the drill and starting our first job, the drills hydraulic hoses started to burst- one by one.. A technician was sent out to our location where we were charged for repairs that did not rectify the situation, resulting in us being thrown off our contract and having to have the drill towed back into Vermeer of the Rocky Mountains. From there, the service manager, James- refused to talk to me.
Claiming that i was difficult to work with and that I had yelled at him. Which again couldn't be further from the truth- our sales rep, Tyrone, was MIA after making the comment I came down on the price because I knew you guys were going to have to put some money into it and just kept leading me back to service. I then had to have our investor be my voice, He was having to communicate with James between his work schedule and being another state away when the drill was fixed I had asked for a copy of the repair order, and I was told it would be sent to Steven Frysinger (my investor). My husband ran the drill into Vermeers yard to ensure it was in good working condition.
Which it was not, the drill kept dying and was still leaking hydraulic fluid. About another week of our drill being down my investor said James notified him that we could pick it up as it was deemed fixed.
So we take it out onto our new job under a new contractor and you guessed it, another failed component of the drill the water pump. At this point I was at a complete loss, two contracts lost, thousands of dollars spent in repairs and lost due to this drill. At this time I also noticed that the hours meter on the drill did not work, the drill was indicating it had the same amount of hours as it did when we purchased it.
At this point I called corporate and expressed my issues that I was having, the comments and back-peddling about the condition of this drill, the lack of help from my local dealer, and how the branch manager, Shane Brown had recently conversed with me, I expressed how I felt like he was mocking me and laughing at me after explaining everything to him and him asking me what do you want me to do buy the drill back from you? And the gentleman I spoke with at Vermeer claimed Shane was actually offering to help me, and if I wanted to, to go back to Vermeer of the Rocky Mountains and have them buy it back like Shane claimed so I took the advice, towed the 24X40A into the dealer and sat in front of Shane letting him know I was doing as corporate advised, Shane then claimed that they do not buy used drills back, that Vermeer doesn't run his store and that there was a pause in my conversation with him, so he asked it in a snarky manner and that it was a miscommunication. He then told me that Vermeer corporate never told me what they did, when in fact they did. I started to get a little emotional because of how aggressive he was, soI told him I was going to call- he didn't know who I was calling (my investor) and he said very aggressively call them, be my guest where he then sat behind his computer shaking his head and smirking at the conversation I was having over the phone.
Now, I don't know if it is because I am a young female in this industry, or if It's because I am Asian, but I feel there is no excuse that can justify the amount of dishonesty and disrespect that I have had to deal with.
When my husband goes into this dealer he is treated kindly, he is greeted and helped, when my investor calls, he is treated kindly and respectfully.. they are men and white
All I am asking for is the original purchase price to be given back $22,260. We have spent thousands of dollars in repairs for this drill to still not work. I do not have anymore time or money to waste on this drill.
Ive been calling and calling to try to talk to someone higher up on the food chain at Vermeer and I keep getting tossed around or not called back- which is why I am emailing you in hopes this will make it at least somewhere.
Thank you for your time,
Michelle Ritter

Verified Reviewer | Lakeside, CaliforniaI have a grievance of your dealer RDO equipment in Lakeside, CA
It appears that they didn't even adjust the gap of the knife bed as it appears to be over 2.5 mm. They charged me $120 for doing nothing.
The told me that they would rotate the bed knife. The chipping blades are hardly worn after only 5 hrs of use after i brought it to them. I can send pictures if interested. I'm apprehensive to do this as i don't think you have other dealers in San Diego.
Is that correct? UPDATE: on 7/28/20 Miguel from RDO Equipment called me. He said he did not want Vermeer involved in this, and that he would contact his supervisor and get back with me.
It is now 8/20/20 - I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM HIM!!
AGAIN, i ask you - do you have any other dealers in the San Diego area. I am concerned that i won't get good service form this place - ESPECIALLY NOW??
