You are considering purchasing an RCA tablet, my suggestion is DON’T
Hi Guys, if you are reading this you probably know that RCA Tablets are NOT made or associated with the “old” RCA company and if you are thinking of buying a RCA Tablet, my suggestion is do NOT buy an RCA product. I purchase a RCA W101v2 and received it in early December. I worked fine, the only complaint was that the battery was not the best (6 hour battery that hold the charge for anywhere near 6 hour) but that was a minor complaint. A few weeks later, I turned on the W101v2 and nothing happened (the display was black except for a few colors in the lower right corner) so after a few exchanges with Customer Support, I was advised to send it to them (Lockport, NY) for repairs. I checked the tracking number and it arrived at, what I thought was, the repair facility on 1/19 and after not hearing from the for a couple of weeks, I contacted them via email (no phone was available) only to be advised that their repair facility was not in NY but in Ontario, Canada and advised me that it would take about 2 weeks for them to repair the device (I have enclosed a few email exchanges below). Further emails were answered with generic replies and I am still waiting for them to advise me what’s going on with the tablet so if you are considering purchasing an RCA tablet, my suggestion is DON’T. Bob ****************************************************** Hello, it has been almost a month since I sent the W101v2 for repairs and would appreciate if you could you please advise me of the status of RA# WBxxxxxxxxxW (sent via USPS Tracking Number: 940550xxxxxxxxxxxxx)? Specifically - what was wrong / what caused the display problem? - what repairs were made? - when can I expect the unit to be sent back to me since it has been in transit and repairs LONGER than I've had it? Thank you ========================================== Thank you for contacting RCA Support. I have checked our database and according to the tracking number, we have received the unit at our Lockport, NY address on 01/19/2016. It is now currently being sent to our service facility located in Markham, ON which can take up to 2 weeks. Once we open the package at our service center and the replacement model is available, it will be sent out shortly after. Please visit http://tracking.rcatablets.com/ for updated shipping and tracking information. Thank you and have a great day. ========================================== I regret purchasing the RCA W101v2 since I thought I was purchasing an RCA product (RCA quality) only to discover that I purchased a product from a company that bought the RCA name (Venturer Electronics) who not only produced a product that broke after

Poor support for Venturer Under Cabinet TV
I purchased a 10" Venturer under cabinet tv, KLV39103, from a national retailer, it was the last one they had and no new ones were on order, because Venturer or RCA or whoever owns Venturer is not supporting these nice little units. The unit arrived well packed and undamaged on the exterior box or internal product box, however the unit displayed a crack in the glass when a tv program was displayed, I even tried a dvd just to make sure, same result. Oddly, there was no apparent crack in the screen glass, it appears to be in the LCD matrix internally. I contacted Venturer and was told to email 1800customersupport.com, I believe this is contact number RCA and there is no phone number just by email, that sure instills great consumer confidence. Later that day I received a reply and was asked to take photos. I provided a photo of exterior and interior box showing NO physical damage, also a photo of product with the factory shrink-wrap still in position, a photo of screen -OFF and a photo of screen -On with a tv image playing, so that "they" could see that the crack in the screen was internal. I got a reply that "they" would not repair this under warranty and I asked for a manager review, denied, so I guess the screen just magically broke! I can't even blame, the shipper since no damage to exterior box was visible. This is a blatant example of a company not taking car of it's consumer base and avoiding any semblance of a proper concern for their product or their consumer, Venturer, a Canadian business, now reportedly owned by RCA. This troubles me that a company would have this little regard for it's consumer base. Some online research says Venturer is owned by RCA Canada and that is reported to be owned by SONY. These people do not seem interested in correcting a problem, but fortunately for me the selling retailer promptly offered a full refund and paid for return shipping, this is the type of service I expected from Venturer.
