Venice Family Clinic

Wow, I just had a great seminar with Mimi Lind and it was fantastic, and over the years I have heard nothing but great things about her; then I see a horrible post about her. I suspect that whomever posted those "complaints/character defamations" about her must be emotionally challenged, sadly; but, then this is what therapists deal with pretty much all the time - the emotionally unstable. I am just sorry it happened to her. She is truly a gifted therapist and teacher and I look forward to attending another seminar with her soon.

I recommend that those reading the above post read all the other positive posts about Mimi and also recognize that in all her years of practice I don't see any other complaints.

Some people really are mentally unstable, and should be in therapy...I am sure Mimi was actually trying to help the poor soul.

Another LCSW and yet another complaint as a result of a poor sense of ethics. It blows my mind that LCSW's aren't taught more about ethics or perhaps their professors are also LCSW's and thus totally unethical themselves. We have known a few. So then there is Mimi A Lind LCSW. A woman who has broken rules and discussed with her friends what should be confidential.

There is plenty of proof of this. Why on earth the Venice Family Clinic has her employed is nuts.

We filed a omplaint with her licensing board.

Mimi Lind is the Mental Health Director at the Venice Family Clinic under the supervision of Dr. Karen Lamp.

They say there is truth behind jokes. There is also truth behind negative review. Obviously, Mimi LInd acted in a hurtful manner.

I won't judge your idealization of a woman you just met at a seminar and run home to GOOGLE even though you sound a little off center too.

If Mimi is this grand dame of psychotherapy that you claim her to be then shame on her for not handling all of the unstable clients with more compassion.

Mimi is a patient too. All therapists have therapists which make them all equally insane.

Mimi Lind LCSW is perpetually spaced out or telling secrets about clients both hers and her associates. I am not certain how or why she is the director of mental health services because she is so mentally ill herself.

She likes to go visit her *** client at her strip club with a stack of one dollar bills.. Yes too much information but her loose lips can't keep any secrets.

She has no sense of ethics and incredibly destructive with her abuse of power. She has allowed some truly shady behavior from her associates to get through the cracks.

The Venice Family Clinic is run by a bunch of severely disturbed folks.

Shame on you Venice Family Clinic to allow a true whack job to head your mental health department. Iguess it shows that you don't discriminate.

Mimi is aware of her associates behaving unethically and actually partakes in the cover up. She has lied and lied to protect her best friend from losing her licensing. But at what cost? Is a client just that, a client that can be replaced like a battery?

By Mimi supporting her friends behavior it only furthers the dysfunction her friend refuses to face. It's like giving a drunk a bottle of whiskey and pretending it never happened.

Her is Rebecca Danelski LCSW a very damaging experience.

Mimi Lind LCSW was abusing her role as Mental Health Director at the Venice Family Clinic to help her friend another social worker in Culver City . USC should be ashamed for allowing this woman to teach at their school. Social workers can be legally liable for defamation of character if they say or write something about a client that has three elements: the communication was untrue, the social worker knew or should have known that the statement was untrue, and the communication caused some injury to the client. Social workers' defamatory statements about clients"”for example, about their mental status, personality attributes, or behavior"”can cause emotional distress or financial harm or damage someone's reputation.

So the big question is, "How do you get out of the mess you should never have been in?

You destroy the client by writing whatever you want. After all you hold all the power as a therapist. I lost EVERYTHING both internally and externally.
