YIKES !* - no brakes - pedal to the floor road emergency
My daily driver is an '07 Jeep Saraha with 113k that I purchased in 2010 and brought to Florida in 2013. Much of its life has been spent in New York winters where salt is used by DPW for snow melt so there's lots of undercarriage corrosion issues. While northbound on I95 the brake pedal suddenly got spongy and stopping distance was increasing so I got off at exit 44 Palmetto Park Road and headed towards the Dixie Highway commercial strip to look for assistance. I happened on the Velocity Factor just prior to closing. Not a regular customer, but was treated with hospitality and consideration for my plight, Chris and Felipe got me a cab home and accomplished a repair the next morning. The steel brake line within a rubber overcoating hose had rusted through and emptied the contents of the master cylinder on the right front. Same condition of the line about to burst on the drivers side as well, so we replaced that too. Wife sometimes takes the grandbabies to ride in this car, so no chances or shortcuts taken. Many Thanks for a fair price, quick service and full attention! Will not forget these guys in my commuting for helping out in a moment of dire need. Terrible customer service and deceptive practices
On FEB 25, 2012 I placed a $1500 deposit on an upgrade package (off the shelf turbo kit from APR) for my Audi. Two weeks later I was contacted by the owner to advise the product is still not available to them by the distributor and it "should" be available in "about two weeks" and he has not forgotten about me. One day later I called to cancel this order. The owner advised me he is charging me a %30 restocking fee and he refuses to cancel the order over the telephone. He advised me it was not possible to cancel an order over the phone. I am aware that credit card machines can indeed process refunds over the phone and one can easily verify identities using credit card security codes. It is therefore obvious the owner lied about not being able to process a cancel order over the phone. The owner now has the cancelled order, the product has never been shipped to me, and he has $1500 of my money he refuses to give back unless I meet with him. I am over an hour away and work as a military doctor. I returned from Afghanistan 30 days ago and have many other affairs to get in order as opposed to dealing with someone who refuses to cancel an order. I have attempted to contact the owner 6 times in the past week and was never called back. I was only able to reach him by calling repeatedly until getting lucky to be put through. Each time I had called I had left a full message.
