For a number of years, I have enjoyed my Mercedes SLK 350. Each time I drop off the SLK for service, I am treated as though I am the most important customer in the world.
I am never talked down to. Never interrogated if I am not completely satisfied with a repair. A day or two later the Service Dept. calls to check if I am completely satisfied.
It is easy to give the Mercedes dealership a score of 10/10.
My city driving car is a 2022 Kia Soul Turbo. I love this car too. Unfortunately, the treatment by the Service Dept. at Vandevere Kia in Akron, pales in comparison.
There was an issue the minute I drove the SOUL off the lot after a recent service visit. Upon returning home, I called their Service Dept. and did not hear back for one hour. Unlike the Mercedes dealership, the Service Dept.
rep was harsh and accusatory. In short, if I wanted the issue fixed, it was up to me to assume responsibility.
That night, I emailed the manager of the Vandevere Service Dept. as instructed. Its been three days and no response.
I found these words on their website. Our team is motivated to do right by customers like you, to put your needs ahead of our own, and to act with honesty and integrity.
If you choose to service your KIA at Vandevere, be wary.

Make sure you know your coverage
Dealer not bad but there is a on going issue with Kia Motors check engine light coming on and off in the Kia Soul, my car is a 2014 I got it new very low miles but this issue been going on since April 2019 in my car, the only thing that the dealer told me that I am out of warranty but I took the car too another Kia dealer and was told that the original owner is coverage for 10 years, I need kia motors to find a fix for this issue.
NO HELP
These people didn't try and help me. Simply put THEY HAD my wrong address and at 64 years old I've never been late on a bill. Since they fixed my address (AFTER THE FIRST PAYMENT) I've never been late, but they refuse to take that 30 day late off my credit report
Yes, VanDeVere did call me to explain they cannot help. I KNOW this NOT to be true.
The owner, Joe VanDeVere can easily call Kia Fiance and explain they / we put down the wrong address on the application.
At 64 years old I surely know my address. I was told I needed to have an Ohio address on my application so I gave them one of my (many) rentals in Canton, Ohio. I did, however, explain that I GET NO MAIL THEIR AND GAVE THEM MY California mailing addresss. The first bill came to the rental house.
AFTER receiving a call from Kia Motor Finance that I was a month behind, I PAID AN ENTIRE YEARS ALL ALL AT ONCE. I have NO MONEY problems, it was THEIR ERROR that ruined my credit.

Dishonest Business Ethics
I bought a car at VanDeVere, but I live in Calif. The finance dept in order to MAKE a sale lied on my application and put down that I was a resident, when in fact I only have rental houses in Canton, Ohio.
So then they sent my FIRST Kia payment to the rental house.
since I live in Calif I never received the bill.
Kia Motor Fianance later called me to explain I was late, I THEN PAID ONE YEAR IN ADVANCE payment, but Joe VanDeVere wouldn't stand behind me and tell Kia IT WAS THEIR MISTAKE, I DON'T LIVE IN Ohio.
WIth PERFECT credit now I have a ding on my consumer report due to this STUPID oversight. I've bought three Kia's from VanDeVere, I'll never buy there again!

I received a recall letter and took my car to a Kia dealership in Akron Ohio this past Friday, van Devere,this morning my engine lite is on, it wasn’t on prior too me taking my car in, this morning I stopped by there and they told me it’s not blinking so I have to wait until Monday the 13th

I went to Kia Vandevere Akron, Ohio to get an oil change and a tire rotation on my 215 Kia Sorento on JAN 25, 2018. I had a coupon for the oil and tire rotation that I print off of Kia Vandevere website on Jan.
2, 2018. The coupon has print Coupon - Community Kia at the top of the coupon. But vKia Vandevere could not honor the coupon because it did not have Vandevere on it. I should be able to take that coupon to any Kia Dealership not only in Ohio or any other State that has a Kia Dealship since the coupon states Community Kia.
I can tell you one thing for sure Kia Vandevere of Akron Ohio has lost a customer.
I have bought two or three Kias from KIA Vandevere but not any more. I know I am only one person but went I tell 10 friends and each one tells 10 friends what do you thing that will happen to Kia Vandevere business.
