HORRIBLE SERVICE

Placed an order in September 2020. In mid-November when I had not received my item I called and was told it was shipped out.

When I still didn't receive it in December I called again and was told it was sitting in customs. HORRIBLE COMPANY do not waste your time or money with them as you will never receive your item.

They sent the wrong finish. They insist they sent the correct finish.

I proved they did not using photos from their own web site ads.

I ordered Oil Rubbed Bronze - they sent Matte Black

Oil Rubbed Bronze has golden like edges - the one they sent is all 100% matte black.

Even with my proof from their own web site pictures - they blew me off and stopped corresponding with me.

Really bad customer service!

I will tell everyone I know not to do business with them.

Told I owe money

I ordered something from this company and was sent an email stating that I had ordered something from them previously and not paid for it. Interesting.

I don't have an account with them and always give my ATM or credit card number with my purchases. They claim they've been trying to contact me repeatedly.

This is news to me. And that I don't believe I've ever ordered something, or if I have it's been five or six years, I think I'll purchase elsewhere.

Terrible customer service

my parts were listed as in stock, I ordered them with express shipping.

customer website shows ship date of 10/08. when i called i was told that this might be the date that they receive material .. its not my ship date .. this is the check order status date!! called customer service and they could not give me a ship date said parts were on back-order.

van dykes offered no solution, no time frame just told me to wait.

if i didnt recive shipment notice in next few weeks to call back ..

why charge expedited shipping and have order status on website if none of the information is accurate ..

Love The Items, Hate The SLOW Customer Service & Returns

Ordered some cabinet latches and drawer pulls. Picked the ones I liked, ordered more, and wanted to return the rest. The additional order came right away. But the return label is taking forever! It's been over a week.

Went ahead and filled out the return form and tried one more time to get a return label.

The agent told me they need another week to email it to me and they won't accept it if I mail it myself with my own label. What?

Love the merchandise but I will think twice before ordering again from this company. Such a shame because how long can it take to email a return label?

I just received my order of casement butt hinges with casement window locking mechanisms from van-dykes-restorers. I am extremely disappointed with this shipment and will be returning them.

The hinges are from south africa. Each hinge, even within the same package, has a different metal thickness. Furthermore, the hinges are not flat, the sides have bends in them. Of the locking mechanisms, the packaging shows a lot of wear and one of the locks was missing from the package that was placed in my shipment.

Thus, there is no quality control either in the products themselves (hinges) or in the packing for shipment (partially empty bag of parts packaged and shipped to me!). I have already called to have these returned.

I bought two brass Cremone Bolts for over $100 each. The design was defective, they broke less than two weeks after installation. Instead of having a 1/4" x 1/4" spindle connecting the handle to the mechanism, they have two #6 screws, which promptly sheared off. Design for these products has been standardized hundreds of years ago. These are anything but "Retro" as described by Van Dykes. Van Dykes refused to replace them, despite multiple emails. They don't even respond past the first denial.

We installed them for a client over 700 miles from our shop, and are now stuck with buying new ones, and making a huge trip to replace them. The company stinks, don't buy anything from them that has a moving part, they design, manufacture, and sell garbage and don't care. Van ***'s Restorers is not a company that can be trusted.
