I only gave a star because I have to...
I purchased a HP LaserJet printer from USA Office Machines. Their website showed a photo of a new printer, however when I spoke to a representative I was told the printer was fully refurbished and came with a one-year warranty.
I received the printer in a make-shift box, it was filthy, did not function properly, and had missing parts. The printer was misrepresented both on their website and by the representative.
The printer was filthy with food crumbs, coffee stains, dirt, grim, toner smudges and toner dust. The right side panel was ajar because it was not reassembled properly. There were missing parts, no paper tray, no catch paper flap, no USB cable, no software & documentation, which was said to be included.
After having to clean the printer, I ran a test page only to find it did not print properly.
The prints were faint with ghosted type and images.
I contacted USA Office Machines and told them I was displeased with printer and that I should not have to pay a 20% restocking fee since the printer was not as described.
I received an email saying they would give me an exchange, but I would first have to send them photos.
I did not want an exchange, I had lost all faith in USA Office Machines and I should not have to accept an exchange when they should have delivered fully refurbished printer.
I requested they pick up their printer and issue a refund. They refused and I am now having to depute the purchase with my credit card company.
I emailed them saying I would be disputing the charge.
I received a scare tactic email stating that they win 98% of all disputes. This behavior makes me think they have had lots of disputes from dissatisfied customers, and ripping people off is how they conduct business.
