USA Portable Buildings/Amish Cabins has failed on delivery.

DO NOT order a cabin from this company if you live outside of Kentucky. Cabin has excellent workmanship, but getting it delivered, ha I would rate them an F for failure. They have serious problems with delivery of their product outside of their state. Truck driver issues/permits to go across state lines..... They require FULL payment within 10 days of delivery per their contract. DO NOT PAY EVERYTHING UP FRONT. You will need to make them accountable for a timely delivery. We have been promised delivery dates over the course of 90 days, and they have failed to deliver our cabin we had them build. Make certain they come to your building site to evaluate and explain their delivery process on your building site. Normal delivery. Ask what that is first and have them explain it explicitly to you. Ask a lot of questions and write their answers down. Have them sign a clause in your contract for you to back out if they can't deliver within that 10 days or you could be in for a surprise. Could go on for a LONG time. Our cabin was completed in NOVEMBER 2013 and is STILL on their LOT as of 2/6/14 Go to their website Ours is the one on blocks and STILL waiting to be delivered. Good luck all you cabin people. Find a local builder close to you.

Subject: Re: cabin

Hi Mr.

White. We are very pleased with the cabin and have had all of our children and grandchildren there for some weekend stay overs. Our 6 month old grandchild has had a miraculous recovery. She is about 15 pounds now, and with no medical issues.

I will take down the post on Pissed I had posted this before the cabin was delivered on 2/14/14 and had forgotten about it. Hope all is well with you and Pam, Jenny, her husband, and children.

Hope Jenny has a girl this time! Email was signed by the customer (b70482c)

Fwd: Your business's Better Business Bureau Activity Report through October 31, 2014 Your Business's Current BBB Rating: A+ Congratulations on zero complaints over the past 12 months and your excellent BBB Rating!

(Candidly, zero complaints takes both good work and good luck. In some cases, it is impossible for even the best business to "please all the people all the time.") End of email message USA Portable Buildings and Amish Made Cabins

USA Portable Buildings / Amish Made Cabins which has been in existence for 16 years proudly has an A+ rating with the BBB , and since joining the BBB we have not had one single complaint is 3 years. We acknowledge that there were delivery issues on this cabin delivery.

Without going into detail, there were a comedy of errors with changing independent delivery folks, and them getting proper permitting for the job, plus dealing with the holidays, and a January that registered 25 days of either snow, sleet, ice, rain, and mud. We also had to navigate a hill that was 200 yards from the side road with a minimum amount of gravel on the road, coupled with a small area to work with at the top of the hill.

The end result was the cabin was set on Friday, February 14th. by way of a bulldozer pulling our cabin, truck, and trailer up the hill, and when we reached the top of the hill and foundation we had a crane strap and pickup a 20,000 lb. cabin and set it on the foundation.

This was done during a driving snow storm. Both owners of USA Portable Buildings / Amish Made Cabins were on site for the total 5 hour process, and never wavered as to doing everything possible to get the cabin delivered to a spot that had special circumstances.

The people who wrote the review / complaint are good folks who got frustrated with events that happened. There was blame to go around as to responsibility. These folks apologized to me for their reactions, that I totally understood.

Our company applauds Boone Trucking Company, Knepp Crane Company, and our Amish partners for doing an unbelievable job on this cabin. Check us out on

USA Portable Buildings / Amish Made Cabins

I came across this while looking into these cabins myself for my land in TN, from these folks and other companies in KY that seem to sell the exact same cabins from the exact same builder, and also other companies that sell similar type cabins from other builders. In reading about it, this looks like poor project management was the root cause of this situation. A pre-delivery visit and some legwork by the seller should have caught these issues before they became a last minute problem for the ticked off buyer.

cabin fan is a fictitious posting by one of our fly by night competitor's, who thought they could use a complaint to further their attempt to sell and compete with us. They have been sending customers to this posting hoping to discredit USA Portable Buildings.

We have been in business in Bullitt County, Kentucky for a total of 43 years. Our company does not knock or discredit our competition.

Words are cheap, we stand on our ability to sell a quality product, with good prices, good service, and a list of many references to give to prospective customers.
