Poor customer service

I sent a jacket in for repairs to US Wings, which they received on 4/20/22. They didn't generate a work order for nearly three weeks, until 5/9/22.

I called two weeks ago for a status on 5/27/22, and they said it would be done by the end of the following week, 6/3/22.

I called again today6/10/22for a tracking number and they said the exact same thing: it will be done by the end of next week, 6/17/22. By then, they will have had my jacket for nearly two months.

In contrast, I happened to send an identical jacket at the same time to their competitor, flightjacket.com in New York, for the same repair and some additional customization, and I had it back within two weeks.

US Wings is full of lies. In short, item was purchased Nov 28 2019 and they only take action for almost 3 months and also after reporting to BBB this 24th of February 2020. They ignore your e-mails no response.

Guest

Mr. Mateo was promised his refund last week.

The refund was in process as promised. He was told he would receive an email once it cleared our system which it has and he has been emailed. Again, as promised from the beginning.

US Wings has never scammed or withheld a refund from anyone. US Wings Customer Service

I had a navy G1 jacket refurbished, very satisfied.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I used the online form and instructions. Never talked to anybody, but didn’t really need to.

It was a little expensive (I could probably purchased a new jacket for the price), but this was a gift from my mother and fit much better than the G1 issued to me. The paraloft had made minor repairs to cuffs and waistband, but the zipper was starting to go and then lining was in shreds so it needed serious repair (beyond capability of squadron Flight Equipment shop). I could not be more pleased with the product I received back from U. S.

Wings. If you have a jacket that needs repair, use them, you will not be disappointed.

Again, not cheap, but costs are reasonable and spelled out on the repair form. You get what you pay for.

I Had Ordered two Adventure Gear Khaki Shirt From US Wings. The First one had Holes in it That I didn't Notice Till After I washed it, So I Couldn't Return it and after Reading Through their "Return Policy" There was no Way I Could of Either.

So I Ordered another one a Year Later Hoping This Shirt would be okay, it Looked Fine...Till again, After I washed it and it Fell Apart.

I Posted on Their Face-book Page about it, the Post was Removed and I was BLOCKED. They Don't Care about the customer and They Don't Like to Hear the Truth Either. Never Again...

I find this review to be bogus, you purchase a shirt, wear it, wash it and find holes in the shirt that you didn't notice until after it was washed. Why in the *** would you buy another shirt a year later if you had a problem the first time, you are full of it.

"The shirt fell apart? LIES!!!!! Do you realize the damage you cause to someone by making up fairy tales?

Why don't you write a book instead? You can call it the land of Fairy's

US Wings was never aware of this issue and had we been, we would have exchanged it for the customer. US Wings has been in business for over 20 years, has an A+ rating with the BBB which can be reviewed below.

Further more there is no record of this sale in our system. US Wings is always willing to work with customers to resolve any issues.

No customer satisfaction

Updated by user Apr 21, 2013

I called the company again, this time spoke with a representative who was helpful. To make a very long story short, I did receive another jacket, although sizing was still off.

I ended up working with Mike, who took my calls whenever I called and worked with me on getting this jacket sized. Matter is resolved.

Original review Dec 23, 2012

My husband purchased a jacket from US Wings a few years ago, it fit well. Nov.

2012 it was time to order the same jacket as the first was worn out. He ordered the same jacket #, same size, same color. It arrived, size L, khaki. Looks good.

My husband washed it to get out some of the wrinkles. When he put it on I could see it was much too big. I compared seams, chest measurements, there was a 3 inch difference in the chest and each shoulder seam was 2 inches longer. I called the company, they said they had changed manufacturers and since we had washed the jacket they would not take it back.

I explained the jacket size had changed quite a bit , why did they not mention this so the purchaser could have a heads-up?

They said they would not take it back, so...We will not buy from this company again. If you are concerned about Customer Satisfaction, I would not even consider this company.

US Wings doesn't care about birthday present for my son

I ordered an A-2 2000 jacked for my son's 13th birthday. This is not an inexpensive jacket. My son wanted a leather jacket and I invested all that I could spend on this jacket for his birthday. I called the company to verify that if I got the order in that morning that it would ship out that day. I paid extra to get 2nd day shipping so it would arrive in time for my son's birthday.

The company DID NOT SHIP the jacket that day. They had to confirm I had really placed the order. The only phone field on their order form is associated to the CC information. I used the home phone there because CC orders sometimes will not go through if you use a phone not associated to the account. I have to work and I don't work at home. They called that home number, where I would not be, to "verify" that I actually placed the order. None of this makes sense to me. My bank will take care of problems if my card is somehow stolen. If this is a standard thing to do then you need to provide a 2nd preferred contact phone number on your order form! Basic good business.

When I finally saw an email 2 days later and called, customer service didn't care a bit that the jacket would not be here for my son's birthday. They were willing to do NOTHING to make this right. I would have been a satisfied customer (not exactly happy but at least satisfied) if they would have knocked of the extra shipping and gotten out 2nd day air anyway. They didn't care a bit that it didn't ship on time as they committed to on the phone previous to my placing the order. They accepted no responsibility for any problem. I now have NOTHING to give my son on his 13th birthday. This is a sad comment on customer service and pride in business in today's world.

Us wings vintage A1 jacket has thin leather and bad quality

The Jacket was advertised as distressed cow hide. It was nothing more than cowhide with the top layer of the hide stripped off.

This makes it very thin and damage prone as well as non water resistant. It seems that they use leather that would not normally be acceptable, then strip the first layer off. This makes a swade like look and feel. When I complained they shrugged me off.

This was a very expensive jacket for what it was and shipping was a lot of money. I would advise that you never buy any of their goods unless you can see it.

Do not purchase from this company! There return policy is not what it states!

Jacket did not fit and they would not take it back they suggested i purchase another jacket and try to sell the one i purchased on ebay to get my money back. They are a joke and jackets are cheaply made..

Guest

Yes, inside the pocket. They don't do refunds when shipped to Canada.

I knew this but thought I could trust that I would get a good product. nice thing about the internet is that it dosn't have borders when it comes to posting complaints.

Guest

Well, thats interesting, Why dont you send it back? although I find it hard to beleive that that could have slipped through their Quality Control.

And just be be perfectly clear, youre looking at the part of the pocket that was sown on to the front of the jacket. right?

Guest

Yes, the inside of the pocket is the same. When I show it to people who make leather goods like jackets, garments etc.

this is where they all look because you can also see the raw edge of the leather. They all say the first layer is stripped off and that is why it is so soft and suede like.

I expected the jacket to have the exact same leather that a non distressed one would have with the new finish distressed like it would if it were worn for many years. I have a 25 year old A-2 that is too worn out to use and if I look in the pocket I see the original finish of the jacket.

Guest

Ok Robert, Open the front snap cargo pocket on your jacket, Then fell and look at the front inside of the pocket, does the rest of the jacket look like that??

Guest

It wasn't advertized as cowhide with the first layer stripped off.

Guest

Thank you! Finally I get backed up! :)

Guest

Our Vintage Cowhide is top grain 3oz leather. Of course it is not water resistant or waterproof. Our Vintage Cowhide A-2 is just as advertised.

Guest

Wow that is interesting... Again mine looks fine, My dads jacket never had the suede look but it had a different finish on it, its very water resistant, and its over 13 years old.

but the leather does LOOK like mine, it just doesent get lighter or darker if you run your hand over it. when you look at your jacket does it have any shine at all in the light? and can you see any grain in the leather?? I would like to see a picture of yours and I would send you one of mine as-well to compare.

Also is your jacket heavy at all? mine weighs in at about 5 or 6 pounds.

Guest

sorry. It is an a-2 and Yes I bought it from us wings, had it shipped to me.

Not cheap to ship. I have been showing the jacket to leather repair shops and they all say the same thing. Like I said in my first post, don't buy unless you see it.

how is it that you say it is "supposed to look like a suede" but now you say it has the character of the Cabelas Cowhide jacket. Dose your dads jacket look like suede?

Enough alias Mr. E 2000 of Hudson Ohio here is the truth:

U.S. agency admits making errors in Sgt. David ***’s records

By Jim Carney

Beacon Journal staff writer

Published: June 20, 2012 - 11:52 PM | Updated: June 23, 2012 - 09:41 AM

View More Photos >>

A federal agency in charge of military personnel records admitted it made errors in releasing records last year concerning Hudson mayoral candidate David ***.

It also apologized for the gaffes.

The military record of ***, a former Army recruiter who gained national notoriety in the late 1960s and 1970s, became an issue during the campaign.

One issue raised was whether *** retired as a specialist (SPC) or as a sergeant first class (SFC).

Official military records of *** released by a group called the POW Network showed that ***’s final rank was specialist. *** maintained that he retired as a sergeant first class.

The National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis has sent a letter to ***’s attorney, Gregory Bean, acknowledging that the records it sent to the POW Network had an incorrect final rank.

***, 72, who owns USA Wings, a military clothing and paraphernalia company in Hudson, lost the election to incumbent William Currin.

The agency’s letter, which was included in a full-page advertisement in Wednesday’s Beacon Journal, admits that it made errors in the release in ***’s service number, rank and place of entry.

“Though no words of mine can change the fact that an error was made or lessen the impact it has had on your client, it is my hope that you would agree that the actions we have taken since becoming aware of the error have been responsive and appropriate,” wrote Scott A. Levins, director of the agency. “I sincerely apologize for our error and for any adverse impact experienced by Mr. ***.”

During the campaign, questions were also raised as to whether ***, who had served in the Coast Guard before joining the Army, was an Army Ranger. *** has said that while he trained Rangers, he did not enter Ranger School.

*** filed defamation lawsuits last year against former WKYC television reporter Eric Mansfield, himself a retired Ohio Army National Guard major, as well as the TV station, Mayor Currin and 25 John Does.

***’s attorney dismissed the claim against Mansfield, now a spokesman for Kent State University, and the others in April.

*** noted that he paid for Wednesday’s advertisement “to set the record straight.”

Last July in a Hudson ceremony, U.S. Rep. Steve LaTourette, R-Bainbridge Township, presented *** with a Purple Heart, a medal he said he had never received.

*** said he has applied for a second Purple Heart, which he is entitled to after receiving wounds in Vietnam.

He said Wednesday that his business has been hurt substantially over the last year because of the controversy over his military record.

*** also said the records and acknowledgement from the federal government of errors and the agency’s apology prove that his military record is legitimate and that he is not a military fake.

“I served my country, I served my country well and I am proud of it,” he said.

WKYC aired a story this month confirming that *** had indeed retired as a sergeant first class.

I know a little about this Mr. E 2000 as well.

I realize this isn't the place for this but his real name is Doug Cabarle and he lives in Hudson Ohio. I have one thing to say to you Mr. Cabarle and that is you served in the Military yourself or should I say posed in the Military as a Sailor aboard a *** Vessel full of civilians which we Destroyer Men refer to as pleasure cruising.

Then you somehow managed to pull one over on Uncle Sam and get a Medical discharge for a failing Kidney< I could be mistaken on the organ.

My point is your out, your feeling like a failure so you have to destroy someone and this Mr. *** is in your cross hairs. Don't you realize you have also caused his family to suffer? Its my understanding you got your Kidney replaced.

I think If I were you and were given a new lease to live this life I would do so without harming others. Your actions are shameful. Karma is a *** and if we do harm to others such as you have done you can bet somehow you'll get your poison back 10 fold. Believe me we all do and I'm not talking about threats I'm talking about how things always come back to us naturally.

Take a good look at yourself in the mirror.

Are you perfect, of course not. My point is don't a hypocrite.

I find it incredible that a venue that is supposed to be a forum for product, lets someone post disparaging comments about an individual, the same exact phrases that have been posted on several other websites by a MR E 2000. I don't understand how their are over 85 positive comments about this company on their FACEBOOK page but these are not mentioned. 85 to 3 is a pretty good score.

Us wings leather jackets are exceptionally poorly made and the co. offers no remedy.

US WINGS,A MANUFACTURER OF CHINESE LEATHER "BOMBER" JACKETS SELLS A PRODUCT THAT IS EXCEPTIONALLY POOR AND HAS ESSENTIALLY NO GUARANTEE. THEIR EXCHANGE POLICY EXPIRES IN 10 DAYS.

CONVENIENT FOR A CO. THAT MANUFACTURES A PRODUCT WITH A LIFE EXECTANCY OF A FEW WEEKS. THE FIRST TIME I USED THE ZIPPER, IT SHREDDED. THE COMPANY DISAVOWED ANY RESPONSIBILITY.

PLEASE AVOID US WINGS. THE ONLY RESEMBLENCE TO A TRUE FLIGHT JACKET ENDS WITH IT'S IMAGE ON THE WEBPAGE. THE LEATHER IS PAPER THIN, THE LINING TEARS IF TOUCHED, AND THE ZIPPER IS AS DURABLE AS A PAPER CLIP. YOU'D BE BETTER OFF WEARING A PAPER BAG WITH HOLES TORN IN IT.

SINCERELY. DAN HEGARTY

We do not have any notes or emails with any indication you were not happy with your purchase. Should you have contacted us, we would have been happy to address your concerns.

Sounds like Satisfied U.S-Wings customer works for the company. Writing sounds like a salesman!

I find these reports fraudulent, as I have received my new Vintage cowhide A-2 2000 size L, It is of the highest quality and I could not be more pleased with it. the leather is quite thick and very durable, the zipper is YKK and is very smooth and slides very freely. I expect my jacket to last me a lifetime, (although some people do not know how to care for such fine things as leather jackets they may not last, they are NOT rain jackets and NO you don't wash/dry them read the care instructions on the webpage please before you ruin a fine quality peice of clothing.

This company ripped me off!

My son wanted a leather jacket like Indiana Jones' for Christmas. Every family member (grandparents, aunts, uncles....you get the idea) looked for something close. We finally found one on the internet at a place called US Wings. It was over $400, but its for Christmas, right?

It is now February, and the jacket is beginning to tear in the pocket area. I called customer service and received instruction to return it so they could look at it. I received the jacket back the same week without any notification from them, and there was a letter in the box stated that I should take the jacket to a shoe repair place to get it fixed. Yeah, right!

I called and talked with General Manager Mike. He said, upon inspection of the jacket, they assumed that since there was so many blood stains that obviously someone had been in a fight while wearing the jacket. One excuse is as good as another. There was, of course, no blood stains on the jacket.....maybe soda or rain spots, but not blood. I wasn't looking for US Wings to clean the jacket, just stand behind their very expensive products.

I bought a US Wings jacket in 2008 that is superb quality and still going strong six years later. I recently bought a Chinese-made US Wings jacket (on eBay) that was of very poor quality.

I think there is a huge difference between the US and Chinese made versions. Recommend a buyer either buy the US version or something else.

Guest

On December 3rd, 2009, Ms. Carolyn Wilson, placed an order with US Wings for a Vintage Cowhide Indy-style jacket.

Her order was processed and shipped. On February 17th, 2010, Ms. Wilson contacted US Wings, via telephone, and stated the jacket was bought for her son as a Christmas gift and the pocket was tearing. We advised Ms.

Wilson to send the jacket back to us for inspection. We received the jacket on February 24th, 2010 and it was clear the jacket had gone through more than normal wear and tear. There were several red and yellow stains throughout the inside and outside of the jacket, the pocket was tearing from someone forcing their hands or heavy objects in them and the collar of the jacket was stained with cologne or aftershave.

On February 26th, 2010, our General Manager, Myke, called Ms. Wilson to inform her the jacket was coming back and she could have the tear repaired by a local shoe repair or tailor if she would like.

Ms. Wilson admitted there were stains on the jacket, and it was used, but insisted we send new a brand new jacket.

We advised her; we stand behind our products however, we felt the tear in the pocket was due to extreme force and not a defect. We sent the jacket back to her the same day.

I have a question for the consumer. How old is your son?

It sounds to me and the consumer admits there was something spilled on the jacket that your son probably isn't mature enough for a $400.00 jacket. Pocket ripped?

What the *** was your son doing with the jacket jumping over barbed wire fences? Even a cheap jacket from Kmart won't start tearing at the pockets unless it is not being taken care of, I find your complaint ridiculous.
