Complaint on the gate operator

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • -We shared campers with relatives for 15 days; this was allowed for five years.
  • -Gate operator now restricts this; Ranger staff were unprofessional.

We have always shared campers with our relatives and son-in-law and my grandkids, he is a state trooper and only gets off certain times we get it for 15 days and we turn it over to them but now the gate operator is stating that we cannot do that we did this for the last five years. Those in the Ranger here was very unprofessional and not very polite at all. I would appreciate this matter being handled thank you very much.

User's recommendation: I will post in several areas to customers myself I would appreciate this

Permission to occupy land

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • Houseless and staying near the Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles/Pico Rivera.
  • Wants temporary stay until housing voucher is approved.
Updated by user Mar 24, 2025

I certainly wasnt looking for pitty or what they thought of me personally or about my situation to where there response mattered whether they permitted or not, it was just me taking initiative giving respect to whoever had authority to grant permission to a certain situation on their property instead my hiding my issue and it becoming a law enforcement reason to resolve the problem . So I expected more there response of a ok thanks for the heads up and not a negative outcome in there response. The army corps doesn't have designated owner one person it has a representation of people who can't really speak on behalf of who can or can't do things only if they have been a victim of crime like theft to the property occupied primarily of people in my situation.

Yes, I am currently houseless due to a displacement of my previous residence that had a negative and life-changing impact as a single female struggling to get back on track. As a result, it has brought me to the Army Corps of Engineers - Los Angeles/Pico Rivera location in California.

Whereas I've been occupying a small land area the size of a bush for one reason: because it's where I feel safe and away from the streets where I've been attacked before and do not have to worry. But temporarily is my plan while I wait for the Public Housing Authority to approve me for assistance with a voucher, for which this week I have two appointments to meet with case managers from two different agencies about my housing issues. My question to the person who can answer is... The purpose of this email is to advise, notify, make aware, and ask for temporary permission from the Office of the Army Corps to stay, not reside or be there permanently, just until I can get one step closer to utilizing the county services they are willing to provide and offer in my current circumstances.

Just to be clear, I'm not trying to build, construct, or reside permanently; I just need somewhere to safely rest my head at night because I do have extreme anxiety and fear of homeless shelters and strange people who are dirty and filled with infectious diseases at shelters, rehabs, and public parks. If you can, please take my story into consideration. I promise to make my stay quiet, litter-free, and unseen to the public eye. I don't want the authorities involved, which they do know my situation and are aware of my presence, but I would like to give the respect to the Army Corps of Engineers that I'm harmless.

Thank you for your consideration in helping a woman in need towards a better future by allowing me to be there without any problems or negative response.

Thank you so much for what you strive to do for the community of California. You're awesome!
Pros:
  • Safe haven when in a desperate emergency situation
Cons:
  • Water when there is a rain storm or flood disater

Preferred solution: Permission to temporarily use of small area of land due to a emergency situation.

  • North neighbor cut a hole in the barrier wall and blocked the spillway.

Damage to dam wall built by Corps And, reservoir Corps designed and built to control water runoff was removed by person who bought land reservoir was located in utility easement. Need help to get water under control.

Live at lowest topography of surrounding area. Corps built catch basin with pipe under road to carry water runoff to 4 acre pond that feeds larger lake below.

Presently, when rains a lot of water runoff like a river has developed since land owner took out reservoir.

North neighbor cut hole in barrier wall built by Corp to keep spillway runoff from back of dam. Then, neighbor built barn in 75 drainage easement and blocked spillwayusage that has eroded barrier wall and spillway runoff made on path close to dam wall.

User's recommendation: Find out how to get response.

All of a sudden they do not cut their grass in their field around building.

AI Highlights
  • Field behind condo was cut weekly for over a year.
  • This summer it hasn't been cut.
  • Tall grass attracts bugs, possibly animals; fence backs to yard.

I have been here over a year and they have cut the field in back of my condo every week. This summer they have not cut it and it is very tall creating bugs, and probably animals.

Their fence backs up to my patio and yard. It is unsightly and creating problems for the people who live on Abercorn Dr. My husband went over and talked to someone and they said the boss wasn't there. They also said they city of Suffolk was buying it.

Today they cut only the front you see as you drive by school. What is happening here.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution
