Resolved: Unscrupulous billing practices including refusing to refund money owed

US Anesthesia Partners - Unscrupulous billing practices including refusing to refund money owed
US Anesthesia Partners - Unscrupulous billing practices including refusing to refund money owed
Updated by user Sep 14, 2022

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund. 9/13/22 rec’d Consumer Refund Prepaid Visa card in the mail for the full amount owed.

A check would have been the right thing to do. The Visa card is a pain to set up and easy to lose, and you can’t use it like cash to pay off a medical bill online. So, I had to activate the card, then drive over to the BofA ATM and pull out the cash, but I couldn’t pull out all the cash because it’s only $10 increments.

So, now I have $25 left on this Visa card. Took 16 months to get my refund..

Original review Aug 10, 2022
In June 2021 I had cataract surgery. I received a bill and did not realize it had not been submitted through my insurance. I paid half of the bill in the amount of $425. Subsequently, my insurance paid 100% of the invoice at the contracted rate. I have been trying to get my $425 reimbursed for over a year. On 2-7-2022 I received a call from Gloria in billing for US Anesthesia Partners asking for my 2021 insurance policy, which I gave her. At that time she acknowledged I may be due a refund. On 6-8-2022 I called them again and was told I would receive my refund, I also verified my current address with them. On 7-5-2022 I called again and was told to wait 2 more weeks for my refund check. On 7-25-2022 I called again and talked to "Steve" and he told me this had to be submitted to their "Refund Department." I asked him to expedite it since it is long overdue and he agreed. On 8-10-2022 I contacted Blue Cross and the claims administrator initiated a conference call with US Anesthesia billing again, this time we got the same man, "Steve", he told us it had to be sent to the "Refund Department." Needless to say, I was not happy. I asked him to Fedex the check to me today, but he refused and said he would have to submit it to the "Refund Department," which is what he said he would do the last time I called! He also said he would "expedite" this request, again. There is a toxic culture at this organization of disrespecting patients including unscrupulous billing practices and horrible customer service. Never pay this company in a timely fashion. Wait till the last minute to be sure all insurance payments have cleared before you send them any money.

Denied benefit of TWC funds to help pay for eye surgery

I had several eye surgeries. My surgeon hooks me up with a program from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) to help pay for one of the surgeries since I was not able to work. TWC pays the surgeon, hospital, but can't pay the anesthesia bill because U.S. Anesthesia Partners (USAP) won't submit it to TWC properly. The result is that USAP can't get itself paid and my credit report will get bashed. After conversing via phone and email numerous times with TWC and U.S. Anesthesia Partners over the course of 5 months, the conclusion is that TWC is awesome and USAP is management by a pack of wild uneducated baboons. The people from TWC sent them emails with instructions on how to properly submit the bill and they never did anything about it. I contacted the idiots at USAP directly via chat, phone, and emails and tried to get them to interact with TWC but they failed to anything. I want you to do us a favor. USAP operates in Dallas-Ft. Worth. I want you to bankrupt them. They are probably running the same *** on a national scale. I had an additional surgery for a cataract since getting *** by the pigs as USAP. I intentionally found a cataract surgeon that did not use USAP as the anesthesia provider. I want you to do the same. If you know of anyone that needs surgery please inform them to use a surgeon and medical facility that does not use USAP as the anesthesia partners. Also, if you are capable, please force USAP personnel to pay a big bill for being involved with USAP. Not too hard to find them. If you see USAP on a resume do not hire them. If someone from USAP wants to buy products or services from you, you need to balk on it. Use your imagination for anything else. I've used the alumni contact lists from the 3 Universities I attended, my HOA, friends\relatives to call on people to boycott USAP. If you have time, please do the same. Also include your HOA, BBB, local elected officials (I'm in-process of alerting mine), friends and relative network, PTA, and other contacts. Please help drive them out of business.
