Urban Traveler owner is aggressive and rude.

I went in to return a defective product. He would only give me store credit, and while I knew that was a possibility, I wanted to push a little on that because what he sold me was a piece of *** that broke immediately upon first use and I felt he should stand behind his product and give me a refund. Well, *** got snotty and disrespectful toward me immediately. He showed me the return policy and said, "in case you can't read." I told him not to be offensive and he accused me of offending him. I may have been angry and it may have shown on my face, but I said NOTHING disrespectful or offensive toward him. He said that the *** cheap zipper on the plastic bedbug bag broke due to "operator malfunction. He responded to the angry look on my face by saying, "Oh you're not going to give me that look are you? It's been a long day! (in an extremely rude voice). He bragged about the store's return policy and kept saying how gracious he was for agreeing to give me money back on the unopened item (another bedbug bag I thankfully didn't open), even though that's the store's policy. He tried to make me feel guilty for keeping the products for "weeks and weeks" because he couldn't sell them while they were in my possession, even though I was returning them within the required 25 days of purchase. When I asked if he was the store owner he said, "It depends on who's asking." I said, "I'm asking." He said, "I don't see how that's relevant." I asked, "Are you the store owner or arent' you?" He kept refusing to confirm or deny, repeating that it wasn't relevant. He did all of this in front of another customer. He acted not like a businessman/store owner, but rather like a petulant, immature 17-year-old who WANTS to get fired. I've never seen such belligerence, disrespect, snottiness, and out-and-out rudeness before. I finally had to call the other branch of the store and talk to an employee to find out that *** was, in fact, the owner.

What a terrible, horrible experience I had at this store today. I stopped in a few days ago to purchase a converter plug to power an appliance I had bought from the UK here in the states.

Long story short, the woman I dealt with sold me the wrong item. She was super nice and I had a good experience there with her. She told me that if I had any issues or if it didn't work I had 10 days to bring it back for a full refund--it would be store credit after 10 days. Well I took it home, tried it out, and wasn't happy with it.

I did a bit of research online and discovered I needed something completely different than what she sold me. No big deal. I ordered what I really needed on Amazon and went back to the store 3 days later to return the item I had purchased. I met up with a man who I assume to be the owner.

I've been in customer service my whole career and I could not believe how I was treated. I explained the situation and asked for a refund. The guy told me that I had indeed been sold the wrong product and that he had what I needed in stock and that he would do me a favor and let me exchange the items for the new item. I told him I didn't need to exchange anything as I bought what I needed online and I just wanted a refund.

He told me too bad and that I needed to return the new item I bought and exchange for the item he wanted to sell me. I told him no thank you. He then proceeded to get rude and completely disrespectful. He told me that I had basically "slapped him in the face" for wanting to return the items and not purchasing something else instead.

He then proceeded to tell me that he would not return the items for me telling me that I had burned up the converter and he would not take it back. After demanding that he refund my money because I was completely in line with the return policy and that it was his employee who sold me the wrong item he then proceeded to scream at the top of his lungs at me. I kept pushing back until finally he said he would just do the refund to get rid of me. Reallly?!?!?!?!

I left feeling pretty confident that he was going to void the whole credit transaction after I left so I contacted my credit card company just to make note of my concern. I, of course, kept all documentation as evidence in case the refund doesn't process. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS STORE!

I have never, ever written a review before in my life but I felt compelled to do so after my experience today. If you do feel the need to go here...shop at your own risk and be 100% sure about your purchase as you may not be able to actually get your money back!!!!

I too had a very bad experience with ***. I bought a piece of luggage in September 2011.

I returned it the next day and when I brought it back in a very intimidating way he asked me what other piece of luggage was I going to buy from him. I told him that I only wanted credit back to my card.I got the paperwork and left. I was gone for about 1 month and upon my return noted that I did not get my credit back. I called the credit company and got a provisional credit back as they started their investigation.

2 weeks later the credit card company wanted the documentation that I had. I turned the house upside down and realized that I lost it. The provisional credit was reversed.

Being frustrated and not wanting to be intimidated again, I took my husband to ***'s store to ask for my credit back.

He admitted that he remembered me and that he would follow through and check his books.

Well I am still waiting form $192 back and I don't think that I will ever get it back. He is an unethical retailer and stay away from him and his store.
