As assumed, a waste of time and energy.

Currently, I have a Ural Gear Up 2010. It has been sitting for repair for over 60 days due to a shifting issue.

Good thing I got a cover. Speaking to the head mechanic I found out that he has in the shop two other urals in house with the same issue and has been trying to work with corporate to address via an update fix to address the issue, or get parts just make the necessary repairs. If this mechanic has three Urals, one under a year old with this issue, it must be a bigger issue where corporate should address, and a resolution found as this cannot be an isolated issue to 3 bikes in Brooklyn, NY. Why does everyone dealer have the same story that getting a ural parts and corporate support a nightmare.

Are they all lying. Maybe its an issue that should be addressed and Ive been hearing this same complaint from dealers and head mechanics since the rim recall. I cant be that difficult to resolve this issue and frankly an embarrassment given the price point of the bike at time of purchase.

Spend some of the money to fix the issue to make owners proud of more than the UDF or new buyers, but a company that cares for its current family of owners. Cause right now this experience, just like the last I had, is embarrassing.

Ural is known as an iconic legendary Russian motorcycle. Unfortunately, it's also known as an inconsistently built and poorly supported machine.

I have owned 2 Urals (and several drive shaft Hondas and a BMW). I have yet to wrap my mind around 2 things:

1. Why would a properly maintained 2016 Ural Gear Up's final drive with less than 2,000 miles leak oil to the point of critical failure in less than 5 months (while under the OEM warranty coverage). I never experienced anything like that with my 2009 Sahara Gear Up that I owned and maintained equally well for 2 years.

I have never experienced anything like that with a Honda or a BMW.

2. More importantly, why would IMZ Ural / Irbit Motorworks Of America Inc not stand behind its warranty and replace the defective unit (final drive + driveshaft). They will also not release results of their lab tests (at least, according to their protective dealer in Plattsburg, NY).

$1,900 is just money. It's money I will no longer spend on Urals.

Hope this was worth it to get a negative review from once a happy customer. Shame.
