Original review Jun 05, 2021

I was looking for a change of address and by mistake purchased from UPDATEOURADDRESS.com. I thought it was a USPS website but they charged me $59.99 and did not refund although I asked them several times that by mistake that purchase was made.

Also, they did not provide any service despite taking $59.99. My purchase was declined at first and I should have noticed that it was a scam.

They took $49.90 when I thought I was being charged $1.05. Said they would return but didn't return.

I thought I was paying $1.05 last March 3,2020, but then got charged $49.90 instead. When I called them they said they were sorry and would return the money.

They never did. Called them again and same thing. I never got the service that they say I wanted either!

They just took my money and never did anything. I was paying the $1.05 to ( what I thought was the post office) to forward my mail after moving to a new home.

Pros:

  • Bait and switch nothing good here

User's recommendation: Not sure how they baited and switched me, but be very careful about changing your address this way. I ended up going in to the post office to forward my mail.

Be Careful. Check Credit Card Statement

I changed my address temporarily in January through April 2020. To my knowledge did I authorize that anyone be notified of this change.

Then on 12/14/2019 I received a charge on my credit card of $49.90.

I would like a credit for this charge. Thank You.

Nasty scam. As mentioned by previous customers.

They fool you, taking advantage of the chaos of a move, and rip you off. Buyer beware!

THIS IS SCAM OPERATION

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Like many others who have filed complaints, I went to the USPS website to change my address and was supposed to be charge $1.05. I then saw that this scam company charged me $44.50.

I have contacted my credit card company and told them that this is a FRAUDULENT charge.

I did not say I wanted to DISPUTE it, because that legitimizes this company. I said that it was FRAUD.

Charged $44.50 to my VISA

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I went in to do a change of address for $1.05 each with the USPO & I completed 2 of them for a total charge of $2.10. On 4/10/19 updatemyaddress.org charged $44.50 to my VISA.

When I called the phone number given to me by my bank they listed their business hours & asked that I call back during normal business hours which I had done. Then the call is disconnected. From Mona N.

Scam on updating your address

Said they were going to charge 1.05 to check my identity and when I checked my account they charged 44.50 just to change my address. In the process of trying to get my money back . Not happy.

I had the same experience. They should be reported to the FTC.

They look and act like a USPS website. I should have been charged $1.05 and was charged $44.50. I called to cancel (they called it a money back guarantee) and charged me a $4.00 cancellation fee. I will contact my credit card company to get the entire amount back.

I agreed to the cancellation fee in case my credit card company is unsuccessful. I told them they are a scam.

I don't understand why you'd hire someone to change your address. What could be simpler than changing addresses ?

Plus, it's a great time to weed out everyone you're sick of. Every time I move, someone gets left out, intentionally.

I change my telephone number regularly for the same reason. Don't need anyone's help to do so.

Changing Your Address With The USPS Scam

Here's where the problem will occur: I needed to change "temporarily" my address and got charged $1 by this businesses NOT affiliated with the United States Postal Service. Now, after the scam occurred and I gave my credit card, I've checked reviews.

They say BEWARE: this company will later charge anywhere from $17 to $24 to file that simple change of address form for me, something I could have done myself on the official USPS site for a dollar. Thing is, I was redirected to this so-called company without my approval or knowledge.

Now I receive a confirmation from UpDateOurAddress.com which is a different name.

I don't know what I dealing with. I have had to cancel my credit card and order new.
