In Florida too!

Same here, got the letter 6-18 & have to respond by 6-27 for my two free airline tickets good for one year. As she was eating and smacking on something while speaking to me, she said this is not a time share. When I asked how my info was given she replied with...It was for travelers that at one point rented a car, hotel, or filled out an inquiry or something. Funny story, I live in Florida-I don't travel! Stay away from this....its not worth the 90 minute time share "presentation". Remember nothing is free!

Letter dated June 4, 2012, I received it June 11, 2012, must respond by June 13, 2012 to claim my free American Airways airline tickets. I called the number 866-535-**** gave my name verifying i had this qualifed award letter. I asked what this was for, I have to come to Gurnee, IL for a "presentation" of 90 minutes, would not say the subject of the presentation (very fast talking, evasive on the answer). Told to go to website (very generic website)/866-213-****. This is clearly like the others complaints here Time Share sales.

We received the exact same letter except now they are calling themselves American Travel Deals. Presentation is going to be at a hotel in Richmond, VA. Did anyone actually go to one of these?

Thanks for the information. Sounded to good to be true.

Free airline tickets for sitting through a sales pitch. Sounds like a scam. Threw the letter in the garbage and canceled the appointment. I've always been told to hang on for a good f---in if somebody offers you something for free.

Especially when you meet them in a suite and they want no extra visitors and your credit card. SCAM!!!!!

My husband and I attended this in February (Tinley Park). They are no longer calling these events for "Time Shares" it is considered Vacation Plan.

You can buy 1 week and you work through their agency to book the hotels they have contracts with. They give a good presentation but we already have a timeshare and don't need to buy another! I received another letter of invite to attend in Gurnee, which when I called they had that I attended in February. I have not received any of the gifts they promised.

If you sign up with them at the time they get the money and who knows what you have to go through to book a vacation.

Flights may all be connecting (with double connects). I would agree this is a SCAM!!!

I received the same thing last night, curiosity got the best of me and I decided to call the number. Just like you said, very fast talking but very vague. They said they had received my information from a inquiry form I had filled out for them a few months ago but when pressed they wouldn't say what, when or where I supposedly did this. They didn't press for a lot of other information and explained, "This is a wholesale travel agency and all we ask is that you take a quick tour of our facility and see what we offer so you can spread the word about what a great service we provide. The free tickets we'll give to you rather than spend the money on advertising, we find word of mouth is much more effective."

Sounded reasonable enough and the rep, "Dusty", said there was no obligation to purchase or sign up for anything. I told her to email me the details and below is what I received. The location is rented office space, they have no local office, and the letter states I should bring my major credit card and state ID for their, "identity verification purposes". The letter also specified "univited guests" were not permitted.

I laughed as I googled them this morning because as soon as I had typed "universal trave..", the autofill/search feature immediately pulled up "Universal Travel Deal Scam" along with several other similar search suggestions.

Everything about this sounds like a scam but I do really enjoy grilling scammers and telemarketers like this and making them squirm so I'm planning on going. I'll post a reply to this tomorrow to see what they have to say
