Unless they can see massive bone loss and loss of attachement on the x-rays they deny. I had a crown recommended by a credible, quality dental practice...Request for approval of benefits was sent mid November...called on 12/22 to get status.Was told UC needed 30 "business days" to review request (to look at an xray). Grabbed last dental appointment available to get crown done in 2016 (12/28).Request still not even looked at yet (37 days)...NOW UC says review will take 8 weeks - conveniently allowing them to not pay out this...

My dental insurance is practically denying all claims. Why? excuse after excuse. I have close to $1500 worth of bills United Concordia has denied the work was necessary. A board of dentist has reviewed the claims according to them. Its an un comfortable feeling knowing you're not covered for routine work. Don't know what to do or where to complain? Im paying my insurance, why cant they pay.

I have the same bad filling about United concordia they show incompetence asking for lot of paper work and time consuming exams and xrays and when every thing is provided UnitedConcordia deny the payment leaving the customer with the big bill.Is incompetent. This is by far the worst insurance company out there. They regularly deny claims for patients. I regularly have them denying crowns on severly cracked and decayed teeth. They do not cover needed x-rays and they play awful games with dental practices. The only way to stop them from victimizing patients is to complain directly to your HR department.
