- - Tried to get answers about the policy since 1998; no answers given.
- - Representatives promised to call back multiple times, but never did.
I've tried to get answers regarding my policy, I've had this policy since 1998 and no one can answer a single question, I've been told three times that the representative will call me back, no one ever calls back, I had to call back the next day and the same response, Friday the same response, I will call you back with your answer, and again for the fourth time no call back! I may have to resort to contacting the Better Business Bureau.

Cancer Policy
- - The claim took months (Dec 2019 to Aug 2020) after my mother's death.
- - Only $1,700 of $18,000 in bills was paid; contacting the company is hard.
I just went through the same thing with this company. My mother had paid on this policy for years.
Upon her death I filed a claim. $18,000 doctors, hospital, treatment bills, was sent a check for $1700.
It took forever I sent the claim in in December of 2019 received a check in August of 2020. You can never get the person whose name is on the letters they send you always get a representative and they have no clue as to what you are talking about.
UNION FIDELITY CANCER INS IS A POOR SECOND TO MUTUAL OF OMAHA
- - Union Fidelity ~$204/yr; Mutual of Omaha ~$120/yr.
- - Union Fidelity paid nothing on some claims.
- - Policy may pay up to $100k, with different category maxes.
I PAY OVER $204/YR TO UNION FID (UNDER THE BANNER OF IAS) FOR SUPPLEMENTARY CANCER INSURANCE; MY HUSBAND PAYS $120/YR TO MUTUAL OF OMAHA, AND BOTH POLICIES COVER BOTH OF US. MY HUSBAND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH TERMINAL CANCER.
I SUBMITTED IDENTICAL RECEIPTS TO BOTH COMPANIES. MUTUAL OMAHA PAID; UNION FIDEL WANTED A DR'S LETTER EXPLAINING WHY RADIOLOGICAL REPORT OBVIATED ANY PATHOLOGY REPORT. SUBMITTED MORE RECEIPTS; AGAIN THE MORE EXPENSIVE UNION FID POLICY PAID LESS AND LATER. SUBMITTED MORE RECEIPTS: MUTUAL PAID $500.00; TH MORE EXPENSIVE UNION FIDELITY PAID NOTHING; THEIR LETTER SAYS "THE LIFETIME MAXIMUM" ($833)FOR CHEMO & RADIATION HAS BEEN REACHED, AS STATED IN THE POLICY.
THEY NEVER SENT ME A POLICY UNTIL AFTER I MADE THE FIRST CLAIM. I PHONED TODAY; CUSTOMER REP GOT MAD AND IMPATIENT. WHEN I OBJECTED TO HER TONE, SAYING I COULD BE RUDE, TOO, SHE SAID, QUITE HAPPILY, "OKAY, THEN I'LL JUST HAVE TO HANG UP ON YOU." I SAID I THOUGHT WE COULD CONTINUE IN A CIVIL TONE, AND WE DID. SEEMS POLICY WILL PAY UP TO $100,000.00, BUT EACH CATEGORY (SURGERY, CHEMO, HOSPITAL, NURSING, ETC) HAS A DIFFERENT LIFETIME MAXIMUM, SO RECEIPTS FOR A DIFFERENT CATEGORY MAY STILL BE REIMBURSED.
REP WILL SEND A POLICY LISTING THE LIFETIME MAX FOR EACH CATEGORY. ORIGINAL AD SAID NOTHING ABOUT CATEGORY MAXES; JUST SAID TO ENROLL AND ARRANGE PAYMENT FOR THIS "UP TO $100,000.00"POLICY. MY HUSBAND HAD DONE THE SAME TO GET THE MUTUAL OF OMAHA POLICY. OBVIOUSLY, FOR HALF THE PRICE, HE GOT THE BETTER DEAL.
BTW, $833.00 IS A PRETTY LOW MAX FOR CHEMO--WE PAID $6800 OUT OF POCKET JUST BETWEEN APRIL AND SEPTEMBER. SOMETHING IS BETTER THAN NOTHING, AND MUTUAL OF OMAHA IS BETTER THAN UNION FIDELITY FOR CANCER INSURANCE.
- Having some help with thee medical bills
- Deception built into the ad for this policy
