Horrible Customer Service

I would definitely like to talk to someone about this and it's definitely not resolved

I have sent my payment in early like normal, but it's taking a little longer due to covid and they tell you that at the post office. I spoke to shyanne and she told me that the system don't know that it's covid so you will be charged for a late fee. I asked for corporate office number and she said she doesn't know that information and I wanted to take the survey and it wouldn't allow me to. I will be calling corporate office about this situation.

User's recommendation: One bad apple doesn't make the company horrible.

Do not use the Stevenson branch. I was given dishonest answers rather than a remedy for a problem the bank created.

The branch manager gave untruthful answers to my request for assistance when the bank's atm mechanically malfuntioned and ate my atm card ( issued by another bank). She said she was prohibited from returning cards "captured" by the atm regardless of the circumstances. In this case there was no question the atm had broken. The screen began flashing a message to that effect and the bank immediately put a sign on the atm. I contacted the Customer Service number for Umpqua and was informed that the branch managers have full authority to return cards "captured" by malfunctioning atms. Unfortunately for me, the bank closed for the weekend shortly after this occurred. The branch manager apparently did not want to stick around on Friday evening waiting for the service technician to open the atm and return my card. So, she just fobbed me off with a lie.

Discrimination and Disgusting Customer Service

I opened a personal account my finance manager was to wire one wire to check all details were correct. He wired three wires by mistake. Umpqua froze my account before I had a chance to use it. They actually insinuated my clients should mark wires to Umpqua satisfaction. I said my clients don't work for Umpqua. My finance manager apologized and I was still treated horrible by Umpqua. I was told I didn't maintain my account to Umpqua terms. I never got to use my account. I didn't find the account was frozen until I called. I was told $13000.00 is a lot of money. I said my God if I had $100000.00 or more would Umpqua people have had a heart attack? Are these really bankers working at banks or just hired people of no knowledge to banking or money? I received a check for all money from Umpqua and I learned another disgusting attitude from a bank. I feel sorry for anyone treated wrong from any bank institution. The banks seem to want to control people's lives. Bank procedures seem to have become expected law isn't law at all.

Umpqua Assists Fraud

I received a check from a new customer. I took it to Umpqua Bank and told the teller I don't want anything to do with the money until this check clears their bank. The teller told me to wait 24 hrs and it will be cleared by their bank. I returned three days later. The same teller was there and she said to me, "The check has cleared their bank. I can give you the funds now." She gave me the money and I left. TWO weeks later I go to make another deposit, the same teller see's me and says, "I've been trying to get a hold of you all day!" I had no idea what was wrong. She says, "That check, it was bad." I was livid. I replied, "No. I told you I wanted nothing to do with that money til it was clear of their bank." She said."I know. I'm sorry. I didn't key it in and I should have." I walked out. Now the bank says I OWE them. The teller that lied to me owe's them. I've complained to several sources about this issue. I want to get the word out to others about my experience with Umpqua Bank so others won't fall into their trap. I received a letter from Umpqua stating "...we have no way of checking the validity of a check." Can you believe that?! That is the most ridiculous statement I've ever heard. They assisted in the fraudulent activity and then want the customer to pay for it! I don't need a response from them, I know their position on this. They will continue assisting in fraud.

Totally your fault. You suspected a fraud and it was a fraud.

Surprise!

A check is just a piece of paper and it takes several days to determine a fraud. Suck it up.
