Latest review update concerning my bed base:

All is well and happily settled! Susie, Senior Sales Consultant, with Ultramatic Canada, finally got a hold of me a couple of weeks ago.

We couldn't connect because my smart iphone sends unrecognized phone numbers to spam because I get a lot of scam callers. I will have to go through my scam callers more carefully now. Thanks to Susie's professionalism, she got things going on the right track and in a pleasant manner. I was able to order my dream bed.

This week Ultramatic did an exchange for the first base frame that I had bought. My new base frame was delivered and set up this past week. The frame is so soft and the massage is so nice and the wall hugger is perfect. Thank you Susie and Ultramatic Canada, for fixing my situation and making me happy.

Things can get resolved by finding the RIGHT PERSON who can help you. Ultramatic Canada, you have a gem of a consultant with Susie.

She gives respect and satisfaction to your customer. Again, a big Thank You Susie.

THIS IS A FOLLOW UP: I finally heard from ULTRAMATIC CANADA REP, Susie, 3 weeks ago. She said she would take care of me and not to talk to anyone or post anything on the internet.

Well, she never got back to me. WHY are you not helping me? This is very disrespectful, upsetting and unbelievable bad customer service. ULTRAMATIC CANADA, do the right thing that you say you do for your customers.

The base I got, order #6772 was cutting up my knees and the metal frame has no padding and hurts my legs. It's not up to me to fix it. I am 72 years old and suffer with osteoarthritic and this base is not suitable for me. Susie told me that this base is an entry level bed.

I was not told this before. I have said previously, I want to upgrade to a better base, now, A.S.P. What's the hold up? Why are you not communicating with me Susie?

Call me.

Your attention to this matter is vital for good customer service! ULTRAMATIC CANADA, PLEASE TAKE CARE OF ME, A.S.P.

Order #6772 - My foundation was delivered by courier and my husband assembled it. The ends of the metal frame were cutting up my knees.

When I contacted the saleslady Marie Gades, she blew up at me. She said in a loud voice, "I have never heard that one before, that's a new one, what are you trying to pull off. All the frames in my store do not have sharp edges." I asked her if there was padding I could buy to cover the frame. Marie said " No we don't sell padding, there is nothing wrong with your frame, there's something wrong with you, you need to buy a new mattress," and hung up on me.

I was flabbergasted and in total shock. How would she know the condition of the frame. She never seen my bed. Marie should of sent someone to check out the frame.

It may be a manufactures defect. Is there not a 5 year warranty on the frame? I might of even upgraded to a better frame. And I did buy a new Queen Mattress and it made no difference.

Maybe A King Mattress would of covered up the end corners. But Marie did absolutely nothing at all for me. Is this the way Ultramatic Canada wants their sales people to threat their customers? This is not good for business.

Your service is bad. My husband glued rubber padding on the sharp corners of the frame and that solved the problem. It took me awhile to get the motivation to write this grievance to you. This experience with Ultramatic and Marie has left me bewildered and very sad.

I purchased two twin beds in 2001 from Ultramatic. At the time, they had an office in South Florida. They delivered two old used beds with urinated mattresses sealed in plastic to look new. I had to make dozens of calls to reps that were rude and did not want to help; in fact, they just didn't care. In fact, no one would help saying it was impossible for my story to be true and that my family had urinated on them. After 2 months I finally got them to give me the okay to go to a warehouse 20 minutes away and pick 2 new mattresses. What a hassle and what an aweful experience that I still haven't forgotten! As it turns out I didn't enjoy the beds because they offered no back support after all, so I had to have plywood under the mattress all along, so having the adjustable base was useless and wastefully spent money. It has been the worst purchase of my life.

Own x 3 beds

There is no way to contact ultramatic online there home page has you locked out. We need new remotes and I'm not happy to have to go through answering service and wait for call back. The beds have stood up well. My only complaint is that my bed and my husbands bed are singles and when we put them together (11 yrs) they are different heights. We are not able to adjust them they are pretty heavy duty, but I don't know where to contact anyone for service and not wait to be responded to. We end up playing phone tag which then makes me frustrated then I just give up which makes me pissed off enough to write a review on a product instead of assertively and with patience pursuing a productive conclusion. My PTSD is a powerful influence over my frustration. I would venture to think that many Ultramatic bed owners because of there health have high frustration levels. If that is the case than one would think that Ultramatic would be easier and less frustrating to contact and with a real person who will actually resolve the problem.

I spoke during 4 weeks with the office of the company trying to reprograming my remote control that do not want to lift the bed. The sold me an other remote, same thing happend.

They make me buy a second remote control, still not want to lift the bed. They said they have no technician in my aera. I call back few days later, spoke to the receptionnist ,saying that I will pay taxi for the technician.

She give me the phone number of one that is 2 minutes of my home. They said i have to psy for the services because they have not any dossier on my name!

Parts price ripoff

This company sells Adjustable beds or Electric beds all over the Nation and in other countries I had trouble with a location in Toronto Canada. I have purchased 3 of there beds in the last 12 yrs two for homes we have and one for a Motor Home we have and the beds were not bad and gave pretty good service. My trouble is with a small plastic part in the bed that is designed to break so as to stop too much stress being placed on other more expensive parts. This part is supposed to break easily and it is common to have to replace it. The part is a small piece of threaded plastic and should cost about $10.00 I have purchased it on line for $25.00 and it is not hard to find. This time I contacted the Company as this bed was supposed to be under Warranty. They told me this part was not Warrantied and they wanted $115.00 plus shipping to replace it. This is a total scam and ripoff and they target older people or the disabled as that is the target market for the beds. Do not buy a bed from them there are other options more affordable and that do not try to rob you. Be careful.

My Wife and i bought an Ultramatic bed in 1013. It was an investment of $ 10,000. It has been an nightmare since day number one. We got the mattresess with differant heights ( about 3 inch differance ) Nobody cared, they had our money, and we got junk. I do not recommend to anyone to deal with this company. They are franchises, and as soon that they get to many complaints they get out of bussiness and find another buyer. And the new owners do not honour any agreements. Welcome to being ripped off. This is a shady and unethical firm. Please do your homework and investigate this company. Dont be duped by there promises, and above all, do not pay upfront as we did.

Ultramatic bed broken after less than 5 years and now just an expensive bed

I bought an adjustable bed in Nov/2010 (delivered Dec13) for $5223.98. The motor burned in the night of March 16-17 in the upright position. I called Ultramatic with the problem and the person on the line had me check the remote control (if we had found the problem, she could sell me a new remote) but decided I needed a new number and would Have to call another number. Turns out that the motor is sold in the U.S. I was able to get one for the price of delivery after complaints of a new bed with warranty. It arrived. Does not work.
