Our reply .... to ukhost4u's unauthorised Registrar change ...
Can you confirm that this change to our registrar has ONLY occurred to this domain on our account?
We have another domain xxxxx.com also on this account, does this registrar change affect that one?
Can you confirm that xxxxxxx.org will be locked to YOUR new registrar until 24th September 2016 after which it will show as unlocked and can be transferred to another Registrar?
UKhost4u's twentieth Excuse .....

Subject:domain unlocking issue
Hello,
Lets step back a bit here and clarify a few few points, the reason we changed registrar partners is we get better pricing with the new registrar and therefore we can lower that cost to the customer. As your registrar we have every right to move this domain between our controlling registrar parters to ensure we can provide a service that is fit four our customers. The domain does expire in 2017 because as part of that transfer the domain was renewed for another year, so my colleague was correct with the expiration date.
We are not denying you the ability to do anything, we are simply stating that there will be a delay for you to be able to transfer this domain out, and these are no our rules these are ICANN rules (the governing body for domain names).
While I understand this is a frustrating situation and it is unfortunate that our transfer has happened when you wanted to transfer the domain name away, but unfortunately it is what it is and I can only apologise that it has occurred. As I said your more than welcome to transfer the domain once the required timeframe has elapsed.
UKhost4u.com the boys from Fife decided to let my domain name expire just for a laugh
There are not enough words or time to detailmy experience with this totally useless sole trader based in Fife, Scotland. The owner Paul Hughes is probably one of the most greediest people I have come across in terms of exploiting his customers. True, I am only one customer out of the 250,000 he claims to serve on his website as the UK's premier web hosting company. But, it is common knowledge online that ukhost4u.com have pxxxxx off a number of the customers they are so proud to serve.
This sole trader in common with other web hosting companies use automatic renewals for the services you use from them. According to the owner customers have requested this service. So, whether you want it or not you get it. WOW that is customer service to be proud of! However, unlike reputable companies which offer this service, Paul Hughes and ukhost4u.com think it is a good wheeze not to remind their customers that automatic renewals apply ( this is hidden in the small print T & C's) or to bother sending a reminder before applying the automatic renewals. Isn't that just dandy of them!
So, I signed up for one of their wonderful hosting packages 3 years for the price of 2 years after a web developer friend (now ex friend!) suggested using ukhost4u.com. I trusted him - big mistake. Never trust a web developer who recommends a web hosting company! I received wonderful service from the boys form ukhost4u. Every time I rang up they were extremely helpful. After-all I was a novice who had gone to them via a web developer's recommendation. (Now, you are thinking, did he not know that the web developer might be a re-seller for ukhost4u.com?) No, I didn't - but in all likelihood he was!
So, ukhost4u.com provided their wonderful service. Not surprising, if you read the testimonials on thier website they are really good at that. Indeed, they receive a glowing testimonial from their accountants. In fact, it is so glowing, I am starting to wonder if those accountants have some sort of reciprocal referral arrangement with ukhost4u. com. I may be wrong, but it is most unusual for the firm of accountants who prepare your financial statements to have such a close relationship with a client. Interestingly, when I contacted the firm of accountants and started asking questions I was sent an obnoxious email - telling me to desist from asking such questions about their client!.. Now, that seems a little odd to me, even for a Scottish firm of accountants!
Anyway, after a wonderful experience of unbridled love from the boys from ukhost4u.com, I got a shock. There on my Barclaycard statement was a charge for about £222 paid to ukhost4u.com. I emailed them to find out what that was. They were over the moon to tell me it was for the next 2 years web hosting. I told them I had not received any notice about this. They told me it was in the Terms and Conditions. I checked. Oh no, they were right it was. I told them I still didn't want that service. Sorry, it was automatic they told me. I contacted Barclaycard. They said it sounded like I had a complaint and sent out forms. I completed them knowing I was in the right and ukhost4u.com were in the wrong. But, Barlaycard in their wisdom decided I was not in the right because it was stated in the small print. So, I had to pay it and I did. But I told Paul Hughes - you remember he is the wonderful owner who will do anything for his customers - who he loves - that after the expiry of the package I would never again be a customer of such a tin-pot organisation like ukhost4u.com.
You would think that was the end of the matter wouldn't you? Well no. I have found out the wonderful Mr Paul Hughes and the boys from Ukhost4u.com decided tol et my domain expire. So, emails stopped arriving from that account at the end of September 2012. Ukhost4u.com obviously thought that was what I wanted. Who can blame them, it is an easy mistake to make, isn't it? So, I contact Ukhost4u.com and after a bit of correspondence eventually get an email from the wonderful Paul Hughes telling me it was my fault but they would put it right provided I paid that bunch of cowboys ( my words not his) some more money! What a cheek I thought. How could he do this to me, after he had been so nice in the early days of our customer relationship.
So, that is where we are at. I am still a customer ( not by any wish on my part) but because the wonderful Paul Hughes and the boys from Ukhost4u.com decided to use automatic renewals to give me a service I did not want - a web hosting package - but still allowed my domain name to expire. Aren't they wonderful.
So, if you also want such a wonderful web hosting experience I suggest contacting ukhost4u.com. You too can have automatic renewals even if you don't want the. You too, can have emails and support tickets ignored. You too can receive obnoxious emails from the wondeerful Mr Paul Hughers and the boys at Ukhost4u.com who want to serve you well - provided it is easy and you pay them for services you don't need or want. They know they can get way with this, because they have been doing it for years. There partners - listed on their website - are more than happy to support them, despite knowing this is how they operate. The Advertising Standards Board are quite happy with the ludicrous claims on their website, especially the one that states they are "The UK's premier web hosting company". I reported the sole trader to the Advertising Standards Board and they told me there was no case to answer. I mean, what is the point of the Advertising Standards Board, when that is their attitude!
So, yes I am Pxxxxx Oxx. Not only with Ukhost4u.com and the wonderful Mr Paul Hughes. I am also Pxxxxx Oxx with all the partners of Ukhost4u.com who despite being advised by me about the business practices of Ukhost4u.com just "turn a blind eye", just like the Advertising Standards Board. Is this really the type of business we want in this country? Do we really want the wonderful Paul Hughes to become more and more rich? I don't and despite the total lack of support from organisations like the Advertising Standards Board I am determined to show you what kind of organisation ukhost4u.com are and also show ukhost4u.com that I am prepared to fight my corner and try to make them realise that the days of treating customers with contempt are passing. IMHO, Ukhost4u.com will eventually go bust - their customers will realise that they can get far better services elsewhere. They may have to pay a little bit more but they can have the peace of mind to know that their business is safer and not at risk and perhpas as importantly, that their personal information is secure, and not in the hands of the wonderul Mr Paul Huges and the boys from ukhost4u.com. One can only pray that Ukhost4u.com go bust sooner rather than later IMHO.
