Verified ReviewerFormal Complaint Regarding Disturbance and Inadequate Staff Response on 5/3/2025
- - Formal complaint about disruptive teens at Cleveland, TN.
- - Refund issued, but follow-up was inadequate.
- - Unaddressed behavior raises safety concerns.

To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a deeply disappointing and unsafe experience at your Cleveland, TN location on the evening of May 3rd, 2025, during the 7:00 PM showing of The Accountant 2.
Seated directly behind me were two teenagers accompanied by their parents. Throughout the film, the teenagers were consistently loud, disrespectful, and disruptive. Despite their behavior affecting everyone around them, the parents made no effort to intervene or correct it. This resulted in a frustrating and aggravating experience for multiple guests attempting to enjoy the film in peace.
I escalated the matter by notifying the manager on duty, Catie (photo attached). While she did issue me a refund and mentioned she would address the issue, her follow-through was inadequate. Catie and another associate entered the theater but failed to speak to the disruptive group or take any visible corrective action. This inaction left patrons, including myself, in a position where we felt forced to either tolerate the behavior or confront the individuals ourselves—an unsafe and unacceptable scenario.
It is the responsibility of UEC Theatres' staff and management to provide a secure, respectful environment for all guests. Allowing disruptive behavior to go unchecked creates not only a poor customer experience but also a liability for your company. The situation could easily have escalated into a physical or legal incident. At one point, I seriously considered calling law enforcement due to the tension and lack of staff intervention.
I am requesting the following:
A formal explanation for why the issue was not handled properly.
A written action plan detailing how situations like this will be addressed in the future.
Proof that this action plan is being implemented effectively at the Cleveland location.
I expect a response to this matter. UEC Theatres must take immediate and meaningful steps to ensure the safety and satisfaction of all its patrons. Please contact me directly at the phone number listed above if further details are needed.
Sincerely,
Barry White

- - Staff enforced the outside-food policy.
- - We request a full $56 refund.
- - Concession staff were playing Cards Against Humanity.
Hello, Im am beyond angry at your movie theater in Cambridge, Ohio. On Saturday July, 26th my husband and I took 5 foster kids to the movies to see the new Jurassic World.
I will admit, we did breach your policy, however how to was enforced was incredibly rude and unfair. We said down and began having our snacks that we brought from home because your snack price are incredibly unreasonable and ridiculous. Almost immediately we were told to throw away our outside snacks and popcorn that we bought at the theater or leave. The attendant said, There is way too many drinks and snacks.
I asked for a moment so I could get a group consensus before we decided and the man said that was ok, I also told him we had a few people in the bathroom so it would take a minute but we would not open any outside snacks, he once again said ok. About 2 minutes later, before anyone got back from the bathroom, we were told to throw everything away then, or leave. We choose to leave and were not even offered a refund.
Now here is my issues, besides that staff just being straight rude. Several other movie goers also had outside food and drinks and they were never asked to leave.
If you are going to have a policy, it needs to be enforced equally.
Every person in that movie theater, including those in other auditoriums, who had outside food should have been given the same choices we were given.
I would like a full refund of the $56 I spend on movie tickets. If it was simply that we broke policy, I would admit defeat and not ask for a refund, but that fact we were the only ones punished is unacceptable.
Also, the staff at the concession counter were playing Cards Against Humanity right where everyone could see.
- Unprofessional behavior
- Deciding that the rules only applied to certain people
- Rude staff
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Treat everyone equally

Verified ReviewerElko theaters
- - Elko screens are dark and blurry.
- - Elko tickets are pricey.
- - Out-of-town theater is cheaper; Elko seating is better.
- - I would pay more to see it.
I would like to take a moment to say that the Elko, NV. theaters screens are garbage.
They have been for years. They're dark and blurry. I don't know if there are adjustments that need to be made or if it's outdated technology, but by being overcharged for the movie, I think it should be an enjoyable experience. I was recently out of Elko and went to a somewhat rundown theater.
The movie was $6.35 per person. The discount Tuesdays in Elko are $6.50. We purchased four drinks for less than $10. In Elko, for three of us to get three drinks and one candy it was $30.
The only thing about the out of town theater that didn't totally blow Elko's theater out of the water was the seating. It wasn't great, and Elko's is great. But that's all Elko has going for it! I'm willing to pay a higher price for the movie if I can SEE IT!
I used to be a once a week, once every two weeks patron, but now it's far far less. A perfect example: when The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare came out I saw the trailer on YouTube. In the trailer Henry Cavill steals a bottle of Johnny Walker red label. When I watched the movie in Elko, the only reason I knew what the bottle was is I saw it in the YouTube trailer.
That's very sad!
So do with this information what you will, but I'm not the only one in Elko that feels this way. Have a great rest of your day.
- Comfortable seats
- Bad picture
- High prices

- - ADA training is needed after a deaf guest's visit at UEC Theater, Rocky Mount, NC, where staff didn't believe she was deaf and manager spoke harshly.
Hello, we visited UEC Theater today in Rocky Mount, NC, Sunday, June 8th about 1:35 PM or so. My husband is usually the one who takes care of tickets for us when we go to movies and meals.
I am deaf and also dealing with various serious health complications, so he tries to get things set up to be ready by the time I get in. Well, today... it was kind of disturbing, and also unnecessary what happened. They are in serious need of ADA advisement and help.
So... since my husband always takes care of our tickets and such, I never go to the register. I can't stand in line much due to health issues, and he does that to help me. Apparently, the workers were calling me; even the manager supposedly called me.
And I am guessing from what I was told they were mad and upset that I was 'ignoring' them. I never heard them call me. I couldn't, because I am deaf. When my husband went to talk to the manager, she refused to believe I was deaf.
She even asked him again... why I didn't answer when the other workers called me. He told her, 'Ma'am, my wife is deaf... She couldn't hear them.' This lady over and over refused to believe I was deaf.
She was very negative. I wasn't feeling well today. I just started antibiotics for a sinus infection. We left because my husband knows I would have lost my temper if we had stayed, especially with me not feeling well.
I would highly suggest more ADA training, especially regarding hearing impaired and deaf people. They could all use it. Secondly, the manager is a little overzealous in her actions. She acts as though everyone is up to something?
It should be case by case. Workers who caught up with us told us the manager had been hollering and got upset, etc., when I didn't stop when she hollered and called me. I am deaf. I would not have heard her behind the counter or the wall, for goodness' sake.
It was extremely embarrassing for me to find this out. And she never apologized. She could have apologized for her deplorable behavior. Most people, when they realize they made that kind of mistake, are mortified and apologize.
The manager at that theater? She is a piece of work. Not that it didn't even cross her mind. I doubt I will ever want to visit there again.
And I will be sure to tell other people about this horrible experience, and they will want to visit there less, too. Thank you for reading this and taking appropriate action.
This could be a potential lawsuit, and she needs to understand how serious it is.
Seriously,
Zenia

Verified ReviewerTheatre is not open but I have bought tickets for the 11:00 show for Mufasa
- - The theater did not open by 11am and the first show started late.
- - Snack lines caused us to miss part of the movie; a key holder was late.
The theatre was not opened by 11am when the first show was to be shown for all movies. We waited in line for 20 minutes till we could get into the room for showing.
Luckily, I bought the tickets online and could scan to move along, did not get snacks at the beginning because the line was out the door. When we got into the room for movie, it had already started when no one was even in there to watch. We waited in line for snacks for 15 minutes and had to miss part of the movie. Had no clue what was as going on with the film and Im very disappointed.
I am visiting from Florida and my friend and our children wanted to see this together. One of the workers was there, but the one who had the key to unlock was 15 minutes late.
If your theatre is to open for an 11am show, your workers needs to be there 15-30 minutes early. Thank you

This is not the UEC Theatres website, so your information was partially blocked out. Too bad everyone didn't confront the teenagers or management as a group.
That probably would have gotten a reaction. At least you got your money back and can try to go again.
